Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2020;51(10):2651-2660
Cimicifugae Rhizoma is contained in the "Shen Nong's Herbal Classic" and listed as the top grade. It is a traditional Chinese medicine for divergent wind and heat. In recent years, scholars have gradually deepened their research on various aspects of Cimicifugae Rhizoma, and its new chemical components and pharmacological effects have been discovered. Based on the review of the literature, the summary of its chemical composition and pharmacological effects, according to the definition of Q-marker, from the aspects of the source route, drug efficacy, traditional drug properties, and the significant components in different compatibility, the Q-marker of Cimicifugae Rhizoma is predicted, in order to provide a scientific basis for the quality evaluation of Cimicifugae Rhizoma.

Pharmaceutical market is a typical market with information asymmetry, and which can lead to "lemons" problem. In all developed countries, firms must receive regulatory approval to market a pharmaceutical product. Such administrative department including SFDA, EMA, FDA and so on. Chinese materia medica is a special part of pharmaceutical market in China. The management of Chinese materia medica is a special challenge in China.

Seven emotions generation relates to the interaction between individual and external objective matters, which is accompanied with interaction between internal desire and external matters. The activity of seven emotions bases on essence of zang-fu organs, being regulated by five zang viscera.Heart is the upstream controller, liver is the key organ to maintain normal emotionds, spleen and stomach is the hub of emotional activities, lung is the auxiliary organ, kidney is origin of emotional generation.Five zang viscera's cooperation and interaction generate the seven emotions.

Objective To explore the value of DWI (diffusion weighted imaging,DWI) in diagnosis of bladder cancer in clinical T stage by comparing DWI and CT.Methods Seventy-five patients with bladder cancer underwent MRI plain scan, enhanced diffusion-weighted imaging and CT scan,to make a diagnosis preoperative clinical T stage according to their image. Then we compared the diffusion-weighted imaging and CT results with pathological staging results to assess the value of DWI in bladder tumor staging. Results For clinical T staging bladder cancer, the diagnostic accuracy rate was 83.5% and 72% for DWI and CT,resectively, statistical analysis showed a significant difference (P <0.05).Conclusion Magnetic resonance diffusion weighted imaging can accurately diagose the clinical T stage of bladder cancer, and has a higher value than CT.

The effects of Cinnamon granules on pharmacokinetics of berberine in Rhizoma Coptidis granules in healthy male volunteers, and the compatibility mechanism of Jiao-Tai-Wan (JTW) composed of Rhizoma Coptidis granules and Cinnamon granules were investigated. The concentration of berberine in plasma of healthy male volunteers was determined directly by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) after an oral administration of Rhizoma Coptidis granules alone or combined with Cinnamon granules (JTW). The plasma concentration-time curves of berberine were plotted. The data were analyzed with Drug and Statistics (DAS) 2.0 pharmacokinetic program (Chinese Pharmacology Society) to obtain the main pharmacokinetic parameters. The results showed that the plasma concentration-time curve of berberine was described by a two-compartment model. The C(max), T(max), t(1/2) and CLz/F of berberine in Rhizoma Coptidis granules were 360.883 μg/L, 2.0 h, 3.882 h, 119.320 L·h(-1)·kg(-1) respectively, and those of berberine in JTW were 396.124 μg/L, 1.5 h, 4.727 h, 57.709 L·h(-1)·kg(-1) respectively. It was suggested that Rhizoma Coptidis granules combined with Cinnamon granules could increase the plasma concentration of berberine, promote berberine absorption and lengthen the detention time of berberine in healthy male volunteers.

Objective To analyze our clinical results of head and neck reconstruction using microsur- gical free flap transfer techniques. Methods The free flap donor sites with long vascular pedicle and large diameter of vessel were routinely chosed, and chose receipt vessels with large diameter and proper position, and perform vessel ananstomosis under surgical loups instead of microscope. The un-buried free flap with a mo- nitoring window were harvest, and do double venous anastomoses in some flaps to ensure adequate venous out- flow. Results From May 1999 to March 2005,1066 consecutive free flap transfers were used to reconstruct head and neck defects. The overall success rate of free flap was 98.3%.The vessel thrombosis rate was 3.1%,and the flap salvage rate was 45.5%.Conclusion Head and neck reconstruetion using microsurgi- cal free flap transfer technique is safe and reliable, and good clinical results can be obtained.

Objective To detect genetic polymorphism of myeloperoxidase (MPO) gene and catalase (CAT) gene and their activities, and to analyze their relationship with arsenic poisoning caused by coal-burning. Methods One hundred and thirty arsenic poisoning patients were chosen as case group in Jiaole Village, Xingren County, Guizhou Province(an endemic area). One hundred and forty healthy residents living in 13 km away were chosen as control group. Their blood was collected. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism technique(PCR-RFLP) was used to detect polymorphism of MPO-463G/A and CAT-262C/T. Ultraviolet spectmphotometer method was used to detect myeloperoxidase activity. Chromatometry method was used to detect catalase activity. Results The genotype frequency of MPO-463G/A at GG, GA, AA site was 47.24%(60/127), 44.09%(56/127),8.67% (11/127) in case group and 42.34% (58/137),48.17% (66/137)1,9.49% (13/137) in control group, respectively. The difference between the two groups was not significant(χ2 = 0.642, P > 0.05). The genotype frequency of CAT-262C/T, at CC, CT, TT site was 65.60%(82/125),28.80%(36/125),5.60%(7/125) in case group and 76.51%(101/132), 18.94% (25/132) ,4.55% (6/132) in control group, respectively, without significant difference (χ2 =3.845, P>0.05). The relationship between polymorphism of MPO-463G/A and CAT-262C/T and the risk of arsenic poisoning was not found in this study(ORadj= 1.36, 95%CI: 0.74-2.50 for MPO; ORadj=1.35, 95%CI: 0.69-2.63 for CAT). The activities of MPO and CAT were (25.30±8.70)U/L and (2.80± 1.09)×103 U/L in case group, while (22.76±7.59)U/L and (3.90±1.01)×103U/L in control group with a significant difference(F=0.760 for MPO, F=0.855 for CAT, all P < 0.05). The genotype of MPO-463G/A and CAT-262C/T was not found to have relationship with the activities of MPO, CAT(F=1.312,2.822 for MPO; F= 0.151,0.036 for CAT, P>0.05). Conclusions Genetic polymorphism of MPO-463G/A and CAT-262C/T is not found to have relationship with arsenic poisoning. Arsenic can lead to the change of MPO and CAT activity, which, however, may not be affected by MPO-463G/A and CAT-262C/T polymorphism.
