Objective: To investigate the status of condom use and its influencing factors among men who have sex with men (MSM), so as to provide a basis for improving condom utilization rates and AIDS prevention and control in this population. Methods: From May to October 2024, a snowball sampling method was employed to recruit MSM in Songjiang District, Shanghai Municipality. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data on demographic characteristics, AIDS-related knowledge, sexual behaviors, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), and condom use in the past six months. Multivariable logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors for consistent condom use. Results: A total of 921 MSM were surveyed, with a median age of 29.00 (interquartile range, 9.00) years. Among them, 697 (75.68%) were aware of AIDS-related knowledge, 826 (89.69%) expressed willingness to use PrEP, and 835 (90.66%) were willing to use PEP. Additionally, 787 (85.45%) MSM reported their age at first homosexual intercourse as ≥18 years, while 519 (56.35%) reported consistent condom use in the past six months. Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that MSM who were aware of AIDS-related knowledge (OR=0.582, 95% CI: 0.423-0.801), willing to use PrEP (OR =0.611, 95% CI: 0.385-0.969), and whose age at first homosexual intercourse was <18 years (OR=0.480, 95% CI: 0.330-0.700) were less likely to consistent use condoms. Conclusion The proportion of consistent condom use among the MSM remains relatively low, which is primarily associated with AIDS-related knowledge, willingness to use PrEP, and the age at first homosexual intercourse.

OBJECTIVE To explore the association between the use of oral progesterone drugs in early pregnancy and gestational diabetes mellitus （GDM）. METHODS Through real-world retrospective cohort research method， pregnant women who underwent the oral glucose tolerance test （OGTT） at the Affiliated Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Nantong University between January 2022 and January 2023 were enrolled. Based on whether oral progesterone drugs were used in early pregnancy， they were divided into treatment group and control group； propensity score matching （PSM） with a 1∶1 ratio was employed to control for confounding factors； Logistic regression and linear regression were employed to analyze the association between drug factors （whether use of oral progesterone drug， duration of medication， dosage， and drug type） and outcome indicators （occurrence of GDM， fasting blood glucose levels， and OGTT 1 and 2 h blood glucose levels in late pregnancy）. RESULTS A total of 709 pregnant women were enrolled in the two groups before PSM； after PSM， 256 cases were included in both the treatment group and the control group. The results of association analysis indicated that there was no significant association between the use of oral progesterone drugs and GDM （P＞0.05）； but a significant correlation was found with OGTT 1 h blood glucose levels [β＝0.965， 95%CI （0.007，1.922）， P＜0.05]， specifically with Dydrogesterone tablets [β＝0.977， 95%CI （0.009， 1.944）， P＜0.05] and Progesterone soft capsules [β ＝1.089， 95%CI （0.077， 2.102）， P＜0.05]. There was no significant correlation between other drug factors and outcome indicators （P＞0.05）. CONCLUSIONS The use of oral progestogen drugs in early pregnancy is not significantly associated with GDM. The blood glucose levels in late pregnancy， especially OGTT 1 h blood glucose levels， have a certain correlation with Progesterone soft capsules and Dydrogesterone tablets.

Hypoxemia is a common pathological state characterized by low oxygen saturation in the blood. This condition compromises mucosal barrier integrity particularly in the gut and oral cavity. However, the mechanisms underlying this association remain unclear. This study used periodontitis as a model to investigate the role of platelet activation in oral mucosal immunopathology under hypoxic conditions. Hypoxia upregulated methyltransferase-like protein 4 (METTL4) expression in platelets, resulting in N⁶-methyladenine modification of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). This modification impaired mitochondrial transcriptional factor A-dependent cytosolic mtDNA degradation, leading to cytosolic mtDNA accumulation. Excess cytosolic mt-DNA aberrantly activated the cGAS-STING pathway in platelets. This resulted in excessive platelet activation and neutrophil extracellular trap formation that ultimately exacerbated periodontitis. Targeting platelet METTL4 and its downstream pathways offers a potential strategy for managing oral mucosa immunopathology. Further research is needed to examine its broader implications for mucosal inflammation under hypoxic conditions.

BACKGROUND: Modern acupuncture anesthesia is a combination of Chinese and Western medicine that integrates the theories of acupuncture with anesthesia. However, some clinical studies of acupuncture anesthesia lack specific descriptions of randomization, allocation concealment, and blinding processes, with subsequent systematic reviews indicating a risk of bias. OBJECTIVE: Clinical trial registration is essential for the enhancement of the quality of clinical trials. This study aims to summarize the status of clinical trial registrations for acupuncture anesthesia listed on the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP). SEARCH STRATEGY: We searched the ICTRP for clinical trials related to acupuncture anesthesia registered between January 1, 2001 and May 31, 2023. Additionally, related publications were retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and Wanfang Data. Registrations and publications were analyzed for consistency in trial design characteristics. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Clinical trials that utilized one of several acupuncture-related therapies in combination with pharmacological anesthesia during the perioperative period were eligible for this review. DATA EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS: Data extracted from articles included type of surgical procedure, perioperative symptoms, study methodology, type of intervention, trial recruitment information, and publication information related to clinical enrollment. RESULTS: A total of 166 trials related to acupuncture anesthesia from 21 countries were included in the analysis. The commonly reported symptoms in the included studies were postoperative nausea and vomiting (19.9%) and postoperative pain (13.3%). The concordance between the publications and the trial protocols in the clinical registry records was poor, with only 31.7% of the studies being fully compatible. Inconsistency rates were high for sample size (39.0%, 16/41), blinding (36.6%, 15/41), and secondary outcome indicators (24.4%, 10/41). CONCLUSION The volume of acupuncture anesthesia clinical trials registered in international trial registries over the last 20 years is low, with insufficient disclosure of results. Postoperative nausea and vomiting as well as postoperative pain, are the most investigated for acupuncture intervention. Objective: To explore the correlation among picky eating levels in preschool children, parental self-efficacy and parenting stress. Methods: A convenience sampling method was employed to conduct an electronic questionnaire survey among 459 children aged 3-6 years and their parents from five kindergartens in Urumqi in November 2023. The survey included a general information questionnaire, the Children s Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ), the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSOC), and the Parenting Stress Index-Short Form (PSI-SF). The Mann-Whitney U-test was used for twogroup comparisons, and the Kruskal-Wallis H-test was applied for multi-group comparisons. Spearman correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationships between children s picky eating levels and parenting selfefficacy as well as parenting stress. Results: The picky eating score of preschool children was 10.00 (4.00), and the parenting self-efficacy score was 58.00 (12.00), both indicating a moderate level. The parenting stress score was 75.00 (16.00), reflecting a moderately low level. Spearman correlation analysis showed that children s picky eating levels were negatively correlated with the total score of parenting self-efficacy ( r =-0.28) and positively correlated with the total score of parenting stress( r =0.25)( P <0.01). Conclusions Picky eating levels of preschool children are closely associated with parenting self-efficacy and parenting stress. Picky eating behaviors in children can be reduced by implementing various effective measures to enhance parenting self-efficacy and alleviate parenting stress.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the causal association between circulating levels of zinc, magnesium, and other minerals and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). METHODS: A two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was performed using summary statistics from large-scale genome-wide association studies of European populations, including 18 382 ASD cases and 27 969 controls. Genetic data for iron, calcium, and magnesium were obtained from the UK Biobank, and data for zinc and selenium were sourced from an Australian-British cohort. A total of 351 genetic instrumental variables were selected. Causal inference was performed using inverse-variance weighting as the primary analysis method. Sensitivity analyses were performed by Cochran's Q test and MR-PRESSO global test to assess the robustness of the findings. RESULTS: No statistically significant causal effect was observed for circulating zinc, magnesium, calcium, selenium, or iron levels on ASD risk (all P>0.05). The odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals from the inverse-variance weighting analysis were 0.934 (0.869-1.003) for zinc, 1.315 (0.971-1.850) for magnesium, 1.055 (0.960-1.159) for calcium, 1.015 (0.953-1.080) for selenium, and 0.946 (0.687-1.303) for iron. Sensitivity analysis revealed significant heterogeneity in the causal association between circulating calcium and ASD (P=0.006), while the effect estimate remained stable after MR-PRESSO correction (P=0.487). The causal effect estimates for the remaining minerals demonstrated good robustness. CONCLUSIONS This study did not find significant evidence supporting a causal association between circulating zinc, magnesium, calcium, selenium, or iron levels and ASD risk, providing important clues for the etiology of ASD and precision nutritional interventions.

Objective: To investigate the abnormal fluctuation of coagulation function indicators in pediatric Burkitt lymphoma patients, and to analyze its correlation with disease progression and prognosis. Methods: The data of 172 children with Burkitt lymphoma in Children's Medical Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January 2020 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, and 120 healthy children were used as control group. Plasma prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT), fibrinogen (Fib), International standardized ratio (INR), D-dimer (D-D), fibrinogen degradation products (FDP), and antithrombin (AT) were measured. Appropriate statistical methods were used to compare the data between two groups, and the Cox regression model was employed to analyze the influencing factors. A P-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Levels of D-D, FDP, INR, and PT were significantly higher in children with Burkitt lymphoma than in the healthy controls [median (P25, P75) for the case group: 0.35 (0.13, 1.22), 3.10 (1.30, 10.20), 1.16 (1.06, 1.24), 12.60 (11.43, 13.50); median (P25, P75) for the healthy control group: 0.10 (0.07, 0.15), 0.60 (0.20, 1.08), 1.06 (1.02, 1.13), 11.50 (11.00, 12.30)](P<0.05). Levels of D-D, FDP, INR, PT, and TT were significantly elevated in children with recurrence compared to those without recurrence [median (P25, P75) for the recurrent group: 0.44 (0.16, 1.42), 3.85 (1.50, 12.25), 1.17 (1.08, 1.24), 12.70 (11.73, 13.50), 16.20 (14.80, 17.80); median (P25, P75) for the non-recurrent group: 0.21 (0.11, 0.69), 2.00 (1.00, 6.85), 1.11 (1.03, 1.24), 11.90 (11.10, 13.43), 15.20 (14.50, 16.40)](P<0.05). Levels of D-D, FDP in children with metastasis were significantly higher than those without metastasis [median (P25, P75) for the metastatic group: 0.51 (0.17, 1.84), 4.38 (1.70, 13.45); median (P25, P75) for the non-metastatic group: 0.20 (0.11, 0.39), 1.50 (1.00, 3.10)] (P<0.05). Levels of D-D and FDP were significantly higher in children with advanced stage than in those with early stage [median (P25, P75) for the high-stage group: 0.33 (0.14, 1.20), 3.10 (1.40, 10.23); median (P25, P75) for the low-stage group: 0.12 (0.08, 0.24), 0.90 (0.50, 2.50)] (P<0.05). Levels of D-D and FDP in high-risk children were significantly higher than those of low-risk [median (P25, P75) for the high-risk group: 0.28 (0.13, 1.01), 2.90 (1.15, 9.65); median (P25, P75) for the low-risk group: 0.12 (0.08, 0.17), 0.80 (0.43, 1.98)] (P<0.05). Levels of D-D, FDP, INR, and PT were significantly higher in children with poor prognosis than in those with favorable prognosis [median (P25, P75) for the poor prognosis group: 1.76 (0.80, 2.72), 13.45 (7.20, 25.30), 1.19 (1.12, 1.32), 12.85 (12.10, 14.35); median (P25, P75) for the favorable prognosis group: 0.23 (0.12, 0.52), 2.00 (1.00, 4.80), 1.14 (1.05, 1.23), 12.30 (11.40, 13.40)] (P<0.05). INR levels significantly increased with accumulating chemotherapy cycles [median (P25, P75) for one session: 1.09 (1.02, 1.20); two sessions: 1.31 (1.23, 1.38); three sessions: 1.79 (1.52, 2.41)] (P<0.05). Age, APTT, D-D, FDP, INR, PT, recurrence and metastasis had a significant effect on the survival of children with Burkitt lymphoma (P<0.05). Conclusion: Patients with Burkitt lymphoma exhibit coagulation disorders, which are influenced by recurrence, metastasis, clinical stage, risk stratification, and prognosis. In clinical practice, it is crucial to prioritize the monitoring of coagulation indicators to facilitate timely detection of coagulation dysfunction.

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic performance of the 0-2 h high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) cutoff recommended by the guidelines for the rule-out and rule-in diagnosis of suspected non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients of different age groups.Methods:This is a retrospective cohort study. Clinical data of 4 050 suspected NSTEMI patients who visited the Chest Pain Center of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University from January 2020 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients who visited from January 2020 to April 2021 (2 650 patients) were included as derivation cohort, and those who visited from May to December 2021 (1 400 patients) were included as validation cohort. The diagnostic performance of the guideline-recommended hs-cTnT 0-2 h cutoff for the rule-out and rule-in of NSTEMI diagnosis was compared among subgroups of patients aged ≤60, >60-70, and >70 years in the derivation group. Rule-out sensitivity, negative predictive value, and rule-out proportion, rule-in specificity, positive predictive value, and rule-in proportion were assessed. Cutoffs were established for subgroups with relatively lower diagnostic performance and validated in the validation group. Major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) within 30 days after patient visit were used as the outcome, and survival curves were plotted using Kaplan-Meier curves, log-rank tests were used to analyze the incidence of MACE.Results:The sensitivity for ruled-out NSTEMI using the guideline-recommended 0-2 h cutoff in the subgroups of patients aged ≤60, >60-70, and >70 years in the derivation group was 100%; the negative predictive value was 100%; the ruled-out rates were 47.6% (331/696), 45.9% (491/1 070), and 28.5% (252/884), respectively. The specificity for ruled-in NSTEMI was 88.3%, 90.9%, and 86.4%, respectively; the positive predictive values were 55.3%, 59.3%, and 58.2%, respectively; the ruled-in rates were 22.6% (157/696), 19.5% (209/1 070), and 27.0% (239/884), respectively. With a requirement of sensitivity and negative predictive value >99%, the ruled-out cutoff for the subgroup of patients aged >70 years in the derivation group was established as 0 h hs-cTnT <6 ng/L or 0 h hs-cTnT<22 ng/L and 0-2 h Δhs-cTnT <5 ng/L, which increased the ruled-out rate of the subgroup aged >70 years to 45.6% (403/884). In the validation group, 42.2% (196/465) patients could be ruled-out. The incidence of MACE within 30 days for ruled-out patients aged >70 years using the established cutoff was 0.Conclusion:The diagnostic performance for the ruled-out and ruled-in diagnosis using the guideline-recommended 0-2 h hs-cTnT cutoff are relatively consistent across different age groups, but the ruled-out rate for patients aged >70 years is lower than for those aged ≤60 and >60-70 years. The ruled-out cutoff established in this study can be used to improve diagnostic performance of thus indicator on suspected NSTEMI patients.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of sexual drug use in men who have sex with men (MSM) in Chengdu and analyze the relationship between depression and sexual drug use.Methods:A total of 1 277 MSM were recruited between November 2021 and May 2022. Questionnaire was used to collect information about their demographic characteristics, depression status and sexual drug use behavior. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used to analyze the relationship between depression and sexual drug use.Results:In the 1 277 MSM, assessment identified 503 mild depression cases (39.4%), 196 moderate depression cases (15.3%) and 171 severe depression cases (13.4%) and 444 MSM (34.8%) reported sexual drug use in the past 6 months. Multivariate logistic regression models showed that compared with non-depression, mild depression (a OR=1.67,95% CI:1.24-2.23), moderate depression (a OR=1.50,95% CI: 1.02-2.19) and severe depression (a OR=1.56,95% CI:1.04-2.32) were positively associated with sexual drug use. Conclusions:The prevalence of depression and sexual drug use were high in MSM in Chengdu. There was a positive correlation between depression and sexual drug use. It is necessary to pay close attention to depression and sexual drug use and conduct targeted intervention in MSM.
