A case of rather typical Crohn's disease in a 10 year old girl is described. She had suffered from intractable abdominal pain, diarrhea and fever for 1 year. Eventual right hemicolectomy revealed diffuse involvement of terminal ileum, cecum and ascending colon by confluent ulcerations and transmural inflammation. Histologically there were numerous well developed non-caseating granulomas scattered transmurally and in regional lymph nodes. Deep penetrating ulcerations were characteristic. Acid fast staining failed to demonstrate any organism. The rarity of Crohn's disease in Korea and this occurrence in pediatric age prompted this report.

Tuberculosis of the thyroid gland is an uncommon disease and primary involvement of thyroid is even more rare. It is a rare disease even in countries in which tuberculosis is endemic. The diagnosis is often difficult as the clinical presentation has no distinct characteristics. Clinical course of the disease may resemble toxic goiter or acute thyroiditis or may follow a subacute or chronic growth pattern without specific symptomatology. Histologically presence of necrotizing epithelioid cell granulomas along with langhans type giant cells are the hallmark of thyroid tuberculosis. Demonstration of acid fast bacilli by ZN staining confirms the diagnosis, but this stain is frequently negative in tissue sections.

The inflammatory pseudotumor of the urinary bladder is rare, especially in children. It is a benign proliferative lesion of the submucosal stroma easily mistaken for a sarcoma clinically, so it should be differentiated from a malignant neoplasm. We report the case of bladder inflammatory pseudotumor in a 7-year-old girl.

5.A case of the nasal septum pyogenic granuloma and literature.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(20):1614-1616
A 56-year-old male had presented with left nasal bleeding repeatedly for 4 days. The pathological examination after resection showed pyogenic granuloma. Its etiology and pathogenesis, clinical features, pathological features and treatments were reviewed.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is a rare tumor of mesenchymal origin. A case of intratracheal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor in a male child was reported. The clinical characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the disease were reviewed based on the literature, and a differential diagnosis between inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor and hamartoma was performed to ultimately confirm the nature of the tumor in the child.

Singapore medical journal 2014;55(2):e25-7
Xanthogranulomas are the most common form of non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis. Both adult and childhood forms have been described. Adult cutaneous forms can present as solitary or multiple yellowish, orange-red or tan-hued papules. Herein, we present the case of a 28-year-old Chinese man with a skin-coloured nodule on his left nasal ala that persisted for several months. While initial impression was that of a fibrous papule of the nose, the results of an excision biopsy showed histological features corresponding to xanthogranuloma. This case demonstrates the condition’s myriad of dermatological presentations, and adds to the differential diagnoses of a cutaneous lesion found in the head and neck region.

Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis is an unusual inflammatory disease of the gallbladder characterized by severe proliferative fibrosis and the accumulation of lipid-laden macrophages in areas of destructive inflammation. Its macroscopic appearance may occasionally be confused with gallbladder carcinoma. We present a case of perforated xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis presenting as biloma. An 80-year-old woman was referred to our hospital with a 1-week history of abdominal pain and febrile sensation. Abdominal CT showed a biloma in the subhepatic area. The follow-up CT showed that the biloma increased in size. Therefore, ultrasonography-guided aspiration was performed. The aspirated fluid/serum bilirubin ratio was greater than 5, which was strongly suggestive of bile leakage complicated by perforated cholecystitis. She underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy with cyst aspiration and adhesiolysis. A histological diagnosis of perforated xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis was made.
