Objective To explore whether hyperbaric oxygen could enhance the effects of the transplanted stem cell on treating myocardial infarction rats. Methods A total of 70 Sprague-Dawley (SD) Rats was randomly divided into four groups, sham operated, acute myocardial infarction (AMI),mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) (Stem Cell Transplanting),and hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) + MSCs group, respectively.Myocardial infarction rat model was established, hyperbaric oxygen treatment was carried out every day at the first to 30 day after AMI.Human umbilical cord Wharton jelly mesenchyme cell was transplanted at the third day after AMI.The densities of polymorphonuclear neutrophils and macrophages in the infracted border zones and in the infarcted area of heart were determined with hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining. The cardiac function was assessed with M-mode transthoracic echocardiography,in vivo. Results (1)Compared to MSCs group, the stem cell proliferation and survival rates were increased significantly at the forth week (276.6 ±73.8 versus 20.5 ± 12.3,P <0.01).(2)Compared to the AMI and MSCs groups, the infracted area and the number of inflammatory cell infiltration were significantly reduced in HBO alone and MSCs + HBO groups.(3) Compared to the AMI group, the cardiac function was significantly improved at the different degree in the other three groups;among these groups, cardiac function was significantly improved in the MSCs + HBO group (P <0.01),except for the volume of end-dilation (P >0.05).Conclusions Hyperbaric oxygenation could significantly promote the proliferation and survival rate of stem cells, and improve the cardiac function. Thus further enhance the effect of the transplanted stem cell on treating the infarcted heart.

Objective To explore the effect of hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture and moxibustion on traumatic peripheral facial nerve injury, and the results of electromyography. Methods From January, 2007 to January, 2013, a total of 160 patients with traumat-ic peripheral facial nerve injury were divided into treatment group (n=80) and control group (n=80). Both groups received routine drug treat-ment. Hyperbaric oxygen combined with acupuncture and moxibustion was applied to treatment group in addition. The clinical efficacy and the results of electromyography were analyzed before and 36 days after treatment. Results After treatment, the cure rate and total efficiency was significantly higher (χ2>7.657, P<0.001), the motor latency of facial nerve was shorter (t>2.214, P<0.05), the M wave amplitude of fa-cial nerve was significantly higher (t>3.116, P<0.01), the number of recruitment potential was more (χ2=9.76, P<0.05), and the motor unit potential voltage was significantly higher (t>5.45, P<0.001) in the treatment group than in the control group. Conclusion Hyperbaric oxy-gen combined with acupuncture and moxibustion is more effective on traumatic peripheral facial nerve injury than routine.

Objective To investigate hearing and speech rehabilitation effects of music therapy for prelingual-ly deaf children with cochlear implantation. Methods A total of 107 cases of prelingual deaf children with cochlear implantation were selected and divided into control group (n=50)and observation group (n= 57 ).The control group was given conventional hearing and speech rehabilitation training while the observation group was given more music therapy. Before and 3 months,6 months and 12 months after rehabilitation training, the auditory behavior level (CAP),speech understand the grading (SIR)and the auditory speech recognition ability from the 2 groups were compared.ResuIts Before training,CAP of the observation group was 2.85±0.02 level,SIR was 2.92±0.03 and hearing and speech recognition ability was 59.51±5.41,while the control group yielded levels of 2.92±0.03, 1.05±0.02 and 58.99±4.31 respectively. The difference between the two groups was statistically insignificant (P>0.05).After training for 3,6,and 12 months, the two groups had different degrees of improvement in hearing and speech rehabilitation:the observation group in the CAP was up to 6.95±0.34 level,SIR up to 4.37±0.09 level, and hearing and speech recognition capacity up to 92.03 ± 11.32,showing significantly more improvements than those of in control group (P<0.05).ConcIusion Music therapy can significantly improve the effects of the hearing and speech rehabilitation training in cochlear implantation in prelingually deafened patients. The auditory behavior after rehabilitation training classification, speech intelligibility rating and auditory speech recognition ability can also be improved.

Objective To observe the effects of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) on the functional with hemiplegic patients of traumatic brain injury(TBI).Methods 186 TBI cases were allocated to the HBO group (94 cases) and control group (92 cases). The control group was subjected to rehabilitation treatment, while the HBO group received HBO in addition to the rehabilitation treatment. Results Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) scores in both groups were significantly increased after treatment(P<0.05). FMA and MBI scores in the HBO group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion HBO is effective to improve the motor function and activities of daily living with hemiplegic patients of traumatic brain injury and can improve the curative effects.

Objective To observe the pronunciation characteristics of vowels' tone in prelingual hearing-impaired children accepted cochlear implant (CI). Methods 8 prelingual hearing-impaired children accepted CI aged 3~4 years (group CI) and 8 normal-hearing children (group NH) with the same age were asked to pronounce the vowels of /a/, /o/, /e/, /i/, /u/, and /ü/ in four tones with the direction of speech training teacher. The sounds were recorded and analyzed with Praat software extract Formants (F1, F2) and duration of the sounds. Results The error of vowels in four tones was more in group CI than in group NH, but difficult level was almost the same between groups. There was significant difference in the F1 of /e/, F2 of /i/ and /u/ in tone 2, F2 of /e/ and duration of /o/, /e/, and /ü/ in tone 3 between groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Pronouncing the four tones of vowels is more difficult for the hearing-impaired children. For vowels articulation training,it is important to focus on the mouth and breath training.
