Objective To report the long-term outcomes of repairing finger soft tissue defects using the dorsal metacarpal flap and compund flap. Methods Through a review of 122 cases, who were treated using the dorsal metacarpal flap and compound flap, the indication and long-term outcomes of the flap and characteristics of blood supply and compound tissues transferred and venous return were analyzed. Results All cases survived unevently. The fingers which were repaired using the flap were normal, and the contours of the donor sites were normal. Conclusions The dorsal metacarpal flap and compund flap are an optimal method to repair finger soft tissue defects.

Objective:To apply two dimensional gel electrophoresis(2-DE) to initially analyze the protein expression in hippocampus of rats with spleen yin deficiency syndrome and to get the theory foundation for investigating the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's Disease and spleen yin deficiency syndrome. Methods:Rats model of spleen yin deficiency were set up by combination of improper diet, overstrain and consumption of body fluid.Qualitative changes of the proteome expression in hippocampus were compared between the model group and control group by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Results:The model group of spleen yin deficiency had the appearance of spleen yin deficiency, for example, irritability, increment in biting frequency, increase of rectal temperature and drinking water(P

Objective To investigate the influence of miR-203 on the proliferation and invasion of human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cell line Eca109.Methods Double-stranded mimics of miR-203 were designed and transfected into Eca109 cells with Lipofectamine 2000;Eca109 cells transfected with nonsense microRNA mimics were taken as control. The proliferation ability of Eca109 cells was determined by calculating the cell population doubling time and the percentage of apoptotic cells;the invasion ability of Eca109 cells was determined by Transwell assay. Results In vitro experiment showed that, compared with the control group,Eca109 cells transfected with miR-203 mimics had a significantly longer cell population doubling time([26.1?0.5]h vs [24.2?0.6]h,P

Objective To observe the effects of purified product trihydroxybenzoic acid dimmer in different doses from Trapa manshurica Fler on apoptosis and cell cycle progression of liver cancer SMMC-7721 cells in vitro and explore its possible mechanism of inhibiting tumor growth. Methods The changes of apoptosis and cell cycle progression were measured with flow cytometry. Results The apoptotic percentages of the cells treated with the purified products with doses of 3.125, 6.250, 12.500 and 25.000 mg?L~ -1 increased significantly as compared with that in the control (P

Objective To summarize the measures for nursing mechanical ventilated patients who suffered from respiratory failure caused by acute severe organophosphorus pesticide poisoning (ASOPP). Method Retrospectively, the nursing clinical data of 18 mechanically ventilated patients who suffered from ASOPP-induced respiratory failure in ICU from January 2013 to December 2014 were analyzed for summarizing the nursing measures concerning preventive extubation, airway humidification and sputum sucking, prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia and final extubation. Result Sixteen ASOPP patients successfully recovered after hospital discharge and another two died from multiple organ function failure because of excessive pesticides. Conclusions Effective observation and nursing care of airways based on their characteristics in ASOPP patients including prevention of unexpected shedding , appropriate humidity of airways and prevention of infection of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP). All of these measures can reduce complications and contribute to the early recovery of patients.

Tianjin Medical Journal 2009;37(12):1023-1025
Objective: To investigate the relationship between platelets and serum thrombopoietin (TPO) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the mechanism of RA with thrombocytosis thereof. Methods: The clinical data of 57 patients with RA were analyzed. Patients were divided into two groups by platelet count: high platelet count(>300×109/L) and normal platelet count. There were 28 healthy persons as control. Serum levels of TPO and interleukin (IL)-6 were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in patients with RA and healthy controls. Results:(1)Serum TPO and IL-6 were higher in RA with thrombocytosis than those of healthy controls(P < 0.05). Compared the two RA groups, the one with thrombocytosis had higher serum TPO(P < 0.05). (2)The platelet count of RA with thrombocytosis did not correlate with serum level of TPO. It correlated significantly with serum level of IL-6 (r = 0.566, P < 0.01) and C-reactive protein (CRP) (r = 0.401, P < 0.05). (3)The serum level of TPO in RA with thrombocytosis did not correlate with serum IL-6 (r = -0.069, P > 0.05). Conclusion: The serum level of TPO was significantly elevated in RA with thrombocytosis, which suggested that TPO may take part in the pathology of thrombocytosis in RA. The thrombocytosis in RA correlated with inflammatory reaction.

AIM: To study the effect of genistein on c-myc mRNA expression induced by oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) in human vascular endothelial cells (ECV304). METHODS: LDL were isolated from healthy human plasma by gradient ultracentrifugation and oxidized by CuSO4. ECV304 cells were exposed to ox-LDL 200 mg*L-1 in the presence or absence of genistein 100 μmol*L-1 for 1, 2, and 4 h in vitro. Northern blot was employed to measure c-myc mRNA levels of ECV304. RESULTS: In response to ox-LDL 200 mg*L-1, c-myc mRNA expression in ECV304 increased by 3 fold for 1h and 3.3 fold for 2 h and decreased below the control level at 4 h. Expressions of c-myc stimulated by ox-LDL in the presence of genistein 100 μmol*L-1 for 1 h and 2 h were separately 80 percent and 60 percent of that in the absence of genistein 100 μmol*L-1. CONCLUSION: Genistein can effectively inhibit c-myc mRNA expression in ECV304 induced by ox-LDL.
