2.The roles of netrin-1 and its receptors in brain ischemia
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2010;18(8):637-640
The netrin family represented by netrin-1 is currently one of the most concerned axon guidance factors. Netrin-1 plays guidance roles for axon growth and cell migration by the dual mechanisms of attracting/excluding during the embryonic development. At the same time, netrin-1 also widely expresses in the adult nervous system and involves in the reconstruction of the structure and function after the achft nervous system injury. This article reviews the roles of netrin-1 in ischemic brain injury.
3.Necessary conditions for the globalization of traditional Chinese medicine.
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2011;9(3):341-8
With the current trend of globalization, unprecedented opportunities and enormous changes have emerged for the global development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). However, many old and new challenges and problems still remain, including partial or limited comprehension of acupuncture, oriental medicine and TCM, the existence of non-standardized institutes of TCM and acupuncture training schools, unqualified TCM practitioners, and problems concerning Chinese herbal medicine and inexperience in conducting TCM business. These problems will doubtlessly impede the further development of TCM worldwide in the foreseeable future. It is also clear that the globalization of TCM will require a large scale systematic project and constitute an arduous historical task. This paper aims to consolidate 6 strategic development modes to reinforce and facilitate the process of TCM globalization through a detailed analysis of both the present status and existing problems concerning the development of TCM in the United States.
4.Effect of substance P on the expression of HLA-DR and HLA-DQ antigens on human monocytes
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1989;0(06):-
Recent studies have shown that the the nervous system possesses immunoregulatory function. We investigated the effect of substance P(SP) a neuropeptide on the expression of HLA-DR and HLA-DQ antigens on normal human monocytcs of the peripheral blood. APAAP (alkaline phosphatase-antialkalinc phosphatasc) enzyme immunoassay was adopted to detect the HLA class Ⅱ molccults, using monoclonal antibodies Tu36, Tu22, in the reaction system. The results, showed that SP at concentrations higher than the physiological serum level (10~(-10)mol/L, 30~(-8)mol/L, 10~(-6)mol/L) promoted the expression of HLA-DQ antigen on monocytcs significantly in vitro (P0.05). The maximal effect was observed at 10~(-8)mol/L. Expression of HLA-DR antigen, however, was not influenced by SP in the same range of SP concentrations. It is reasoned by the authors that the immunosupprcssivc effect of excessive glucocorricoids during stress might partly be counterbalanced by the uprcgulatory action of increased blood SP on the immune function.
5.Relationship of CD+4CDnull28 T cells with left ventricular hypertrophy in end-stage renal disease patients
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2017;24(13):1937-1941
Objective To determine CD+4CDnull28 T cells and their relationship with the microinflammatory state and left ventricular hypertrophy in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. Methods One hundred and twenty ESRD patients were selected, including sixty non-dialytic stage 5 chronic kidney disease patients(CKD5 stage) and thirty maintenance dialysis patients(CKD5D stage). In addition, thirty healthy adults from the hospital medical center were selected as the control group.Flow cytometry was used to detect the frequencies of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood. All enrolled subjects underwent Doppler echocardiography investigations.Results(1)Compared with the control group, the high sensitivity C-reactive protein and the frequency of CD+4CDnull28 T cells were significantly expanded in CKD5 and CKD5D paients (F=14.887,9.659,all P<0.05).(2)In ninety ESRD patients, the incidence of LVH increased in CKD5 and CKD5D patients (76.67% vs.86.67%).(3)Linear correlation in CKD5 patients showed that:LVMI was positively correlated to duration of hypertension,SBP,P3+,lg(CRP+1),lgiPTH,lg(CD+4CDnull28+1) (r=0.332,0.291,0.269,0.310,0.304,0.396,all P<0.05),as well as negatively correlated to Hb(r=-0.285,P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that LVMI was independently associated with lg(CD+4CDnull28+1) and duration of hypertension(F=6.589,P<0.000).ConclusionThere is microinflammatory state in the ESRD patients regardless of whether or not they have dialysis treatment, and they have the high incidence of LVH and exhibit a substantially increased frequency of circulating CD+4CDnull28 T cells. The frequency of CD+4CDnull28 T cells and duration of hypertension are the independent predictors of LVH in non-dialytic stage 5 CKD patients, indicates that these cells may play a critical role in the development of cardiovascular disease.
6.Influence of onset and duration of action on addiction potential of abused drugs
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(10):-
The addiction potential of abused drugs can be different although their pharmacodynamics characteristics are quite similar. In this article, the influence of pharmacokinetics characteristics of a drug on its addiction potential was discussed. A more rapid rate of onset had been shown to result in greater propensity to addiction. Although prolonging the duration of action could reduce the responding rate in animal self-administration experiments, it might not influence the strength of a drug. Understanding the relationship between the pharmacokinetics characteristics and addiction potential may contribute to the rational use and development of these kinds of drugs.
7.Recent advances in heat shock protein 60
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(11):-
The family of HSP60 belongs to heat shock proteins with highly species conservatism and some important biologic functions. It can help other proteins for their assembling, folding and translocating, and plays a role in protecting cells against injuries and other types of stress. In addition, HSP60 is frequently recognized by the immune system as predominant antigens during infections and the progression of certain autoimmune diseases and might provide a novel strategy for the development of immunotherapeutics. This review focuses on distribution, molecular chaperone mechanism, function and gene expression regulation of HSP60. [

China Biotechnology 2006;0(05):-
It is well documented that altered biosynthesis of cell surface N-linked oligosaccharides is associated with the transformed cells and tumors.N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase Ⅱ(GnT-II;EC 2.4.1.143)is a medial Golgi enzyme that catalyses the incorporation of a GlcNAc residue in ?-1,2 linkage to the Man-?-1,6 arm of the N-glycan core. This is an essential step in the biosynthetic pathway leading from hybrid to complex N-glycans.Because functional GnT-Ⅱ is an prerequisite of N-Acetylglucosaminyltransferase V performance,It was speculated that GnT-Ⅱ was involved in cancer development and progression. The expression of GnT-Ⅱ in mouse breast cancer cells 67NR and 4T1 which have different behavior of metastasis was analysed using RT-PCR.The amounts of GnT-Ⅱ in the highly metastatic cell 4T1 increased to 1.53 times of the lowly metastatic cell 67NR.To determine the association of GnT-Ⅱ with tumor progression, the GnT-Ⅱ encoding gene was amplified with RT-PCR and cloned into retrovirus vector pMSCV,resulting in pMSCV-GnT-Ⅱ.The recombinant plasmid was transfected into 4T1 and the transfected cells were selected in the medium containing puromycin, which were harvested to detect the adhesion ability to fibronection and the migration potential by transwell system. The cell adhesion to fibronectin was weakened by 67% and migration potential was increased by 82%.The data indicates that GnT-Ⅱ mediates cell adhesion and migration, thus may play an important role in cancer metastasis.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2009;18(5):504-507
Objective To study the therapeutic effects and mechanism of Sodium Fendate(SF) on rats with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP) induced by L-arginine. Method A total of 60 adult SD rats were randomly and e-qually divided into control group, SAP group and SF group, with 20 rats in each group. The rat model of SAP wes established by injecting 2.5 g/kg L-arginine at a dose of intraperitoneally twice at an interval of 1 hour, and rats in SAP group and SF groups were administrated intraperitoneally with 20% L-arginine solution(2.5 g/kg×2) twice at an interval of 1 hour; rats in control group were injected intraperitoneally with the same volume of physiological saline twice alone. At 5 minutes after L-arginine administration, rats in SF group were injected with SF solution (100 mg/kg, qd×3 d) via the tail vein, and rats in the other two groups received a sham injection of the same volume of physiological saline alone. The characteristics of ascites, the pathological changes of pancreatic tissue and the serum levels of amylase(AMY), endothelin-l(ET-1), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6) and the contents of malonaldehyde (MDA), suede dismutase (SOD), reduced glutathioue (GSH) of pan-creatic tissue of rats and prognosis were compared at 72 hours after L-arginine administration. Measurement data were evaluated by oue-way ANOVA, and numeration data were assessed by Fisher' s exact test. P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results Compared with control group,at 72 hours after L-arginine administra-tion,rats in SAP group presented characteristically histopathological changes of SAP with significantly higher serum levels of AMY, ET-1, TNF-α, IL-6 and MDA of pancreatic tissue[(9715.5±301.3) IU/L vs. (729.2±134.2) IU/L;(25.32±3.67) ng/L vs. (14.32±2.69) ng/L;(102.95±11.24) ng/L vs. (38.62±3.87) ng/L; (538.63±9.53) ng/L vs. (186.35±1.19) ng/L;(34.8±3.9) mol/kg vs. (8.1±2.1) mol/kg, all P< 0.01], and lower GSH and SOD in the pancreatic tissue[(7.1±0.6) mg/kg vs. (16.9±1.9) mg/kg; (6423± 1978) kU/kg vs. (29905+2945) kU/kg,both P<0.01].Compared with SAPmodel group,at 72 hours after ad-ministration of L-arginiue, the pathological lesions of SAP in rats of SF group were significantly alleviated with lower pathological scores (P<0.05), lower serum levels of AMY, ET-1 ,TNF-α,IL-6 and MDA in the pancreatic tissue [(8104.6±149.9) IU/L vs. (9715.5±301.3) IU/L; (20.26±5.86) ng/L vs. (25.32±3.67) ng/L; (84.19±15.14) ng/L vs. (102.95±11.24) ng/L;(458±5.37) mol/kg vs. (538.63±9.53) rig/L;(28.3±2.5) moL/kg vs. (34.8±3.9) mol/kg,all P<0.05], and higher SOD and GSH in the pancreatic tissue[(8.5 ±1.4) mg/kg vs. (7.1±0.6) mg/kg;(10 316±2810) kU/kg vs. (6423±1978) kU/kg, both P<0.05].At 72 hours the death rate in SF group was lower than that in SAP group, but the difference had no significance (P= 0.2.5). Conclusions SF can scavenge oxygen-derived free radicals, upgrade the contents of SOD and GSH of pancreatic tissue, decrease the levels of serum proinflammatory cytokines and ET-1, ameliorate the pathological le-sions of pancreatic tissue in rats, and has the capability of decreasing death rate, so it possesses a distinct advantage for the treatment of SAP.
