Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1995;36(2):192-198
Corneoscleras were stored in 4 degrees C, 98% glycerin and were examined histologically at various storage periods. There were no remarkable pathologic changes in the stainability or arrangement of collagen fibers in stored corneoscleras from one month to 33 months. 12 eyes of 12 patients underwent tectonic or therapeutic keratoplasty with them. The integrity of the globe was maintained in all cases and vision improved in three cases without the second operation. One case achieved visual improvement by optical keratoplasty. In four cases, the vision may be improved by the second operation, such as optical keratoplasty and keratoprosthesis.

Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1994;27(9):1125-1131
We have studied the vasodilating effect of bolus doses of sodium nitroprusside (SNP), nitro- glycerin (NTG), and isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN) in 40 patients during cardiopulmonary bypass with a constant pump flow. Blood volume of the venous reservoir and mean arterial pressure were recorded for 10 minutes after drug administration to detect changes in venous capacitance and arteriolar resistance. SNP 500 ug decreased mean blood pressure significantly more than NTG and ISDN compared with placebo. NTG 500 ug decreased mean blood pressure transiently at 1-4 min but significantly reduced reservoir blood volume. ISDN 500 ug increased mean blood pressure after drug administration, decreased reservoir blood volume less than NTG. We could conclude that SNP was more effective arteriolar vasodilator than NTG and ISDN, but NTG and ISDN were effective as a venodilator during cardiopulmonary bypass.

Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(2):313-317
Primary vesicoureteric reflux is regarded as a congenital condition resulting from a short submucosal ureteral segment and an absence of adequate detrusor support behind the intravesical ureter. Several antireflux operations have been devised, all of which entail opening the bladder and performing a variety of procedures on the ureter. Polytef paste is a sterile, relatively inert, injectable paste, containing polytef, glycerine and polysorbate and polytef is Teflon that has been pyrolysed. Subureteric injection of Teflon is a good substitute for open operation which eliminate vesicoureteric reflux because it is well tolerated, avoids open operation and shortens Hospital day. Herein we report two case of vesicoureteric reflux treated by endoscopic injection of Teflon and review the literatures.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this preliminary study was to investigate the effects of adding 4,4'-bis(N,N-diethylamino) benzophenone (DEABP) as a co-initiator to a binary photoinitiating system (camphorquinone-amine) to analyze on the degree of conversion (DC) of a light-cured resin for dental 3D printing. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Cylindrical specimens (N=60, n=30 per group, o5 mm x 1 mm) were fabricated using bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate (BisGMA) both with and without DEABP. The freshly mixed resins were exposed to light in a custom-made closed chamber with nine light-emitting diode lamps (wavelength: 405 nm; power: 840 mW/cm2) for polymerization at each incidence of light-irradiation at 10, 30, 60, 180, and 300 seconds, while five specimens at a time were evaluated at each given irradiation point. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy was used to measure the DC values of the resins. Two-way analysis of variance and the Duncan post hoc test were used to analyze statistically significant differences between the groups and given times (alpha=.05). RESULTS: In the DEABP-containing resin, the DC values were significantly higher at all points in time (P<.001), and also the initial polymerization velocity was faster than in the DEABP-free resin. CONCLUSION: The addition of DEABP significantly enhanced the DC values and, thus, could potentially become an efficient photoinitiator when combined with a camphorquinone-amine system and may be utilized as a more advanced photopolymerization system for dental 3D printing.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1991;29(1):8-17
We investigated on how the nature of vehicles influenced on the efficacy of mo isturizer s, cutaneous hydrat, ion, physical property and roughness. Hydration was measured with corneometer, physical property with fermometer, and mughness with image analyser. Used vehicles were as follows : hydrous gel, vater in oil(W/0) emulsion, oil in water(0/W) emulsion. I.Jsed moisturizers were as follows . glycerine, polypeptide and sodium lactat,e, hyaluronic acid-triethanolamine, sodium lactate, pvopylene glycol, The results are summarized as follows : 1. The increment of the hydration effect according to vehicles was in this order. C/ W emulsion, W/0 emulsion, hydrous gel(After 2 hours). 2. The increment of extensibility as physical property was correlated to the in crcment, of hydration effcet(r=0.924). 3. It was shown that, the roughness was decreased after treatment of all mo isturizers except propylene glycol but, there was not significant st.atistically and alsa was no meaningful difference among the vehicles. 4. Among t,he moisturizers, glycerine was superior to other moisturizers on the hydration effect and extensihility. We conclude that 0/W emulsion was suitable vehicle on cutaneous hydration effect and hydration effect is proportion to the increment of flexibility.

9.Study on Effect of Cornea Preservation for Lamellar Keratoplasty.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1972;13(2):63-68
Lamellar keratoplasty was done to six eyes with preserved rabbit corneas including scleral rim of 1-2mm which were preserved in three kinds of 5cc. alcohol-glycerine (A.G) solution at room temperature for the period of one month to three years and their macroscopical and histological study was carried out. Three kinds of solution were; 1. A.G. No.1 solution; 50% ethyl alcohol and 100% glycerine mixed by equal ratio. 2. A.G. No.2 solution; 50% ethyl alcohol and 100 % glycerine mixed by two to one ratio. 3. A.G. No.3 solution; 50% ethyl alcohol and 100% glycerine mixed by three to one ratio. The results of the above mentioned lamellar keratoplasty with the corneas preserved in three solutions were uniformly good in all groups. The results of keratoplasty with the corenas preserved for 3 years were as follows; 1. Transplantation of the preserved corneas in A. G. No.1 solution showed transparent adhesions in two eyes, partial opacity in one, total opacity in two, and rejection in one. Neo-vascularization in this groupwas more prominent than in other groups. 2. Transplantation of the corneas preserved in A.G. No.2 solution resulted in transparent adhesion in four eyes, partial pacity one, and total opacity in one and this result could be evaluated as the best of all three groups. 3. Transplantation of the corneas preserved in A.G. No. 3 solution showed transparent adhesion in two eyes, partial opacity in three, and total opacity in one and this result was slightly inferior to that of the second group. 4. Lamellar keratoplasty with human cornea preserved in A.G. No.2 solution for 18 and 33 months in the 2 cases of corneal leucoma after recurrent meta-herpetic keratitis, resulted in success respectively.

Korean Journal of Aerospace and Environmental Medicine 1997;7(3):23-30
In unanesthetized rabbits, alcohol, glyserin, or heavy water was injected intravenously and nystagmic reaction elicited by passive alteration of body position was recorded by means of nystagmography, and the specific direction of the nystagmus was also observed. The following results were obtained 1. After Injection of alcohol (2.5~3.5ml/kg), right sloe down or lelf side down position elicited nystagmus in both eyes (FAN I) Right sloe down position elicited supero-dorsal nystagmus in the ipsilateral eye anti Infero-central nystagmus In the contralateral eye Left side down position produced nystagmus towards reversed directions 2. Returning to neutral position from one sloe down also elicited nystagmus towards the same direction. 3 From 5~6 hours after Injection of alcohol, the direction of the positional nystagmus was reversed, manifesting phase II of the PAN (PANII) 4. Injection of glycerin (2.0~3.0ml/kg) or heavy water (2.0~25ml/kg) also elicited positional nystagmus. The direction of the nystagmus was the same as and opposite to that Induced by alcohol Injection
