37 eyes (of 37 opthalmic patients) underwent placing fluid stents. Results of the study showed that this speration carried on the eyes which underwent many previous operations with complicated pathology and high risk of late complications can lead to tubal obstruction, blocking the fluid flow and enhancing the optic pressure make the last solutions for resolving the high optic pressure impossible and conserving eyeball.

Objective: To present a case of neovascular glaucoma secondary to ocular ischemic syndrome following an uncomplicated phacoemulsification Methods: This is a case description of a 74-year-old male who developed blurred vision and increased intraocular pressure (IOP) two months after an uncomplicated phacoemulsification cataract surgery with posterior chamber lens implantation of the left eye. There was iris neovascularization with absence of retinal dot/blot hemorrhages or neovascularization. The fluorescein angiogram (FA) showed delayed choroidal fluorescence and arteriovenous time. IOP-lowering medications and intravitreal injection of aflibercept were given. Carotid doppler test showed 70% stenosis of the ipsilateral artery but a subsequent magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) did not show evidence of significant stenosis. Results: At his last consultation, visual acuity improved to counting fingers. IOP was maintained at 12 mmHg with one anti-glaucoma medication. Conclusion Ocular ischemia can confound the outcome of an uncomplicated cataract surgery. Doppler scans are usually chosen as the first-line exam for those suspected of carotid stenosis but, at times, may have contradictory results with MRA.

Morphometric variables of the corneal endothelial cells and central corneal thickness were evaluated in 12 neovascular glaucoma eyes and 12 normal contralateral eyes. Cell area and density was 611.50 micrometer2, 2,065 cells/mm2 respectively in neovasualar glauloma eyes and 441.33 micrometer2, 2,313cells/mm2 respectively in normal contralateral eyes and there were no significant diffeernce between two groups (p>O.1). Hexagonality was 55.69% in neovascular glaucoma eyes and 62.01 % in normal contralateral eyes and the decrease in hexagonality in the former was statistically significant (Pneovascular glaucoma eyes and O.511mm in normal contralateral eyes and the difference was not statistically singificant (p>0.05). It can be concluded that neovascular glaucoma induces morphological changes of the corneal endothelial cens which might bring corneal edema.

The long term results in 22 eyes of 21 patients of intractable glaucoma who are managed by silicone tube shunt to encircling band in a modified method by author are presented. Ten eyes had neovascular glaucoma and twelve eye had refractory nonneovasular glaucoma in whom previous several surgery was unsuccessful. All cases have been followed up for at least six months. Using the author's criteria, the success rate was 86%. Visual acuity was maintained or improved in 82%. The author's personal method of making a pressure valve like slit incision for prevention of postoperative shallow anterior chamber is described.

We performed a new technique described by Schocket et al. in 6 cases of advanced, uncontrolled glaucoma and 2 cases of neovascular glaucoma. A sillicone tube was inserted into the anterior chamber and aqueous was shunted through the tube to a reservoir around the encircling band. After a mean follow up of 103 days, 8 eyes had a successful outcome with the intraocular pressure below 20 mmHg. So we recommend this procedure rather than destructive operations in the treatement of advanced, uncontrolled glaucoma.

We performed a prospective study to evaluate the effect of ocular digital massage (ODM) on intraocular pressure (IOP) in eyes that underwent implantation of Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV) for refractory glaucoma. Echographic study(B scan) was also used to visualize the formation of bleb around the implant and change of its size following ODM. There were 14 eyes(13 patients) in which pre-massage IOP was 17.79 +/- 6.19 mmHg and the immediate post-massage lOP showed 11.00 +/- 6.11 mmHg . IOP in 6 hours after ODM was 15.43 +/- 7.32 mmHg . These reductions in lOP were statistically significant (paired t-test, p=0.005). When classified into two groups based on the type of glaucoma and IOP reduction after ODM was compared, there was no statistically significant difference between the group with neovascular glaucoma (NVG) and that with chronic angle closure glaucoma (t-test, p=0.328). The ultrasound study showed well formed bleb around the implant in those eyes with good IOP control. Increase in the size of bleb was shown even in those with marginal/poor IOP control following ODM. There was no significant complication associated with ODM except in one eye with persistent hypotony. In conclusion, ODM showed a significant IOP reduction in short term in eyes with AGV and its relationship with bleb size was well documented with the use of echograph.

The Iridocycloretraction(ICR) is a new surgical procedure which has been developed by Krasnov to treat the organic closure of the anterior chamber angle. The iris root is forced by two (or more) interposing autoimplants of the patients scleral tissue and the ICR restores the normal access of aqueous to the outflow pathways between the anterior chamber and suprachoroidal space, as in cyclodialysis. Since 1981 we have operated 7 eyes by this ICR operations. The causes of our cases were: 3 cases of aphakic glaucoma, 2 cases of neovascular glaucoma, 1 case of pseudophakic glaucoma and 1 case of complicated glaucoma. The results of the ICR were very effective for lowering the ocular hypertension in all 7 cases. Only two hyphemas were experienced after operation in the neovascular glaucoma.
