A case of Sturge-Weber Syndrome is presented in a male neonate with severe gangrenous ulcerative stomatitis involving the angiomatous skin lesion and leaving sequele of cleft lip and nasal disfiguration.

Necrotizing periodontal diseases, especially acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis (ANUG), it should be noted, occur abruptly and progress rapidly, eventually causing severe soft-tissue and alveolar bone loss. This report presents the cases of two ANUG patients and provides a brief treatment protocol for easy and effective clinical management. After proper diagnosis, sequential treatment with cessation of mechanical brushing, along with a prescription of systemic antibiotics and chlorhexidine as a mouth rinse, scaling, root planing, and supportive periodontal therapy, was utilized. In all cases discussed in this report, there was marked improvement in a few days. ANUG, though an uncommon disease, can be efficiently managed with proper diagnosis and immediate treatment.

200 subgingival specimens collected from 100 healthy periodontal adults of Thanhliet, Thanhtri, Hanoi, from 100 periodontitis adults of Odonto-stomatology Departments of Dongda and Thanhnhan Hospital were cultured and isolated for Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans and Capnocytophaga gingivitis. The prevalence of Aa and Cg in the periodontitis group is clearly different from that in the healthy periodontal one. The higher rate of Cg compared with the rate of Aa is found in female with periodontitis. Both Aa and Cg are sensitive to ampicillin, tetracycline, and chloramphenicole. Their sensitivity to erythromycin and sulfamethoxazole/ trimethoprime changes. Cg is resistant to amikacin. TSBV medium used for culturing and isolating Aa has improved to be suitable to Laboratories in Vietnam.

Study on 70 patients with chronic inflamagingival at the age of 17-34 and 35-55. These patients have treatment with tooth-ointmently by ultra in the Institute No103, from October 2002 to October 2003. The results showed that: the cause of chronic inflamgingival was tooth-ointmently. In 2 studied groups, each patient have averagely 4 areas having tooth-ointmently, mainly inside of large molar tooth of lower jaw and outside of large molar tooth of upper jaw. The good results have achieved after one week and maintained after 3 months of treatment with tooth-ointmently by ultra combined with guiding dental hygiene. After 6 months, the good results have decreased highly. The patients need to take tooth-ointments again, to be guidlined and practised well dental hygiene

2688 primary school pupils and sencondary school children in the whole of the country, aged 6-11 years old, living in mountain, plain, central and northern areas, southern. A high prevalence of gingivitis inflammation of 42,7- 71,4% was concluded in all age groups, higher in rural area than in urban and increasing with the age. There fore the programme of dental oral care for school children in the whole of country, including oral hygiene education must be promoted.

ABSTRACT Desquamative gingivitis is characterised by desquamation of the gingiva with painful erosion and ulceration. It is predominantly a manifestation of several vesiculobullous diseases. Delayed diagnosis or misdiagnosis often led to disease progression. Pemphigus vulgaris is a chronic, life-threatening autoimmune disease resulting in blistering of the mucosa and skin. Oral lesions normally preceded skin lesions. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent involvement of the skin, as the treatment and prognosis varies with extraoral involvement. Clinical, histopathological examination and direct immunofluorescent are necessary for the diagnosis of pemphigus vulgaris. Treatment of desquamative gingivitis involves improving oral hygiene, reduce irritation to the lesions and specific therapy to the underlying disease. This paper describes a case of a patient with desquamative gingivitis for one year, whom is ultimately diagnosed as having pemphigus vulgaris.

Gingival recession is exposure of the root surface with apical shift in the position of gingiva. The incidence of gingival recession is 8% in children and 100% after the age of 50. Recession tends to be found in patients with healthy gingiva, but more frequentely found in patients with periodontal disease, and it often causes mucogingival defects. Buccal surface of premolar is the area not only for severe gingival recession and cervical abrasion, but also the area of numbers of buccal frenum and less keratinized gingiva. Therefore, the goal of this study was to observe the patients with periodontitis and examine whether there are clinical relations between gingival recession and cervical abrasion of premolar and other factors related with the condition of periodontal health. Generally healthy 218 patients who had periodontal disease such as gingivitis and periodontitis, aged between 18 and 78, were examined for depth of periodontal poket, width of attached gingiva, gingival recession, cervical abrasion, and frenum of mid-buccal surface of premolar at the Department of Periodontics in Dankook University Dental Hospital and following is the result. 1.The average gingival recession and cervical abrasion of premolar with periodontal disease was 0.76mm and 0.29mm and each has 43% and 14% of incidence. Also the width of attached gingiva of mid-buccal surface was 1.77mm. The average periodontal pocket depth is 2.0mm and 47% of frenum were related. The frenum more frequently seen was narrow single shaped frenum, and the interdistance of the frenum was mostly over 4mm. 2.With statistical significance(P<0.05), the incidence of gingival recession increased with age and was related much more with female than male, the first premolar than the second premolar, and with narrow attached gingiva and frenum. 3.With statistical significance(P<0.05), the incidence of cervical abrasion increased with age and was related with the area of the first premolar and narrow attached gingiva, but the sexual and frenum differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). 4.The severity of gingival recession increased with age and was more related with female than male, the first premolar than the second premolar. And the area of narrow attached gingiva and frenum showed more gingival recession and the distance of frenum was more highly related than shape, and they were statistically significant (P<0.05). 5. With statistical significance(P<0.05), the severity of cervical abrasion increase with age and was observed at the first premolar and narrow attached gingiva. But the sexual and frenum differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05).

PURPOSE: The purpose of this report was to describe the clinical and microbiological characteristics of two rare cases of necrotizing stomatitis, and the outcomes of a non-invasive treatment protocol applied in both cases. METHODS: We report two cases of necrotizing stomatitis in a rare location in the hard palate of a 40-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man. Neither had a relevant medical history and both presented with highly painful ulceration in the palate and gingival margin that was accompanied by suppuration and necrosis. 3% hydrogen peroxide was applied to the lesions using sterile swabs, and antibiotic and anti-inflammatory treatment was prescribed to both patients in addition to two daily oral rinses of 0.2% chlorhexidine. RESULTS: In both cases, radiological examination ruled out bone involvement, and exfoliative cytology revealed a large inflammatory component and the presence of forms compatible with fusobacteria and spirochetes. There was a rapid response to treatment and a major improvement was observed after 48 hours, with almost complete resolution of the ulcerated lesions and detachment of necrotic areas with partial decapitation of gingival papillae. CONCLUSIONS: Necrotizing periodontal lesions can hinder periodontal probing and the mechanical removal of plaque in some cases due to the extreme pain suffered by the patients. We present a non-invasive treatment approach that can manage these situations effectively.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate value of methotretrexate (MTX) in the treatment of tubal pregnancy. METHODS: 28 patients with unruptured tubal pregnancy were treated alternately with four doses of intramuscular MTX (1.0 mg/kg) and four doses of intramuscular citrovorum factor (0.1 mg/kg). Patients considered eligible for MTX treatment of tubal pregnancy were those with unruptured tubal pregnancy ulcerative stomatitis, dermatitis, pneumonitis and alopecia. 112 patients with gingivitis and periodontosis were treated topically with BT 98 for 1 week to 2 months. For gingivitis in 81,94% of cases, there were good results, 12,50% moderate and 5,56% bad. For periodontosis 75% good, 15% moderate and 10% bad. The preparation is of low cost, safe and convenient
