Tumor 2008;28(12):1055-1058
Objective: To compare the effectiveness and safety of bladder instillation of bzalkonium bromide (BR), pirarubicin (THP), or mitomycin C (MMC) in prevention of postoperative recurrence of superficial bladder transient cell carcinoma (SBTCC). Methods: One hundred and twenty-seven patients with SBTCC who underwent transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBt) or partial cystectomy were randomly divided into 3 groups. BA group (n = 43) received intravesical instillation of 0.1% BB 300 mL and retained for 15 min for one time. THP group (n = 42) received intravesical instillation of 30 mg THP in 50 mL of 0.9% NaCl solution. MMC group (n = 42) received intravesical instillation of 40 mg MMC in 50 mL of 0.9% NaCl solution. THP and MMC were given to patients once a week for 8 weeks and then once a month for one year. All the patients were followed up and received cystoscopy examination. The recurrence rate and side effects were compared between the three groups. Results: All patients were followed up for 24 months. The tumor recurrent rates were 4.7%, 23.8%, and 26.2% in BB, THP, and MMC groups, respectively. The tumor recurrence rate of BB group was significantly lower than that in THP and MMC groups (P <0.005). The difference was not significant between THP and MMC group (P >0.05). The pathological grade, clinical staging, primary and recurrent tumors, and different instillation drug therapies had significant effects on the recurence rate (P <0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence rate of renal damage among the three groups (P >0.05). Conclusion: Postoperative intravesical administration of BB is more effective than THP and MMC with well toleration and low cost. No apparent side effects are observed.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for regulating pediatric clinical drugs. METHODS:Package inserts of pediatric drugs used by the outpatient, inpatient and emergency pharmacies of our hospital during January and March in 2015 were collected. The information about pediatric drugs in the package inserts, including drug name, indications or functions,specification,adminis-tration and dosage, was calculated and analyzed. 815 kinds of drugs applicable to adults and children in our hospital were studied to summarize and analyze the dosage form, specification and dose of pediatric applicable drugs. RESULTS:438 package inserts were collected, including 327 related to chemicals and biologicals among which those imported or produced by sino-foreign joint venture were labeled with more complete information about drug use for children compared to those made in China, and 111 rele-vant to Chinese patent medicines and natural medicines for which there were significantly insufficient information about drug use for children. The applicable drugs with the dosage form for children and those with the specification therefor respectively accounted for 51.17% and 31.65% of the above-mentioned 815 kinds of drugs, and were mainly available as injections, tablets or capsules, granules and oral liquid. The drugs labeled with the dose based on the age group of children such as infant, preschooler, school child and adolescent(1-18 years old)accounted for 61.24% of those with the specification for children, the drugs labeled with the dose for babies (28 d-1 year old) accounted for 26.74% thereof, and the drugs labeled with the dose for neonatus (younger than 28 d)accounted for 12.02% thereof. CONCLUSIONS:The label information and variety of pediatric applicable drugs are marked-ly insufficient. It is suggested that our country should formulate relevant policies, strengthen the development of pediatric drugs and improve the data for clinical use thereof to ensure the safety of clinical use for children.
6. Role of NR2B and CREB in ginsenoside Rbl regulation of methamphetamine-induced conditioned place preference in rats
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2020;36(5):604-608
Aim To study the effect of ginsenoside Rbl on methamphetamine-induced CPP in rats and to explore the role of NR2B/CREB in it. Methods METH(2mg·kg-1, i.p) was administered to establish METH-induced CPP model in rats. 0 ∼3 d was the adaptation stage and 4 ∼ 13 d was the experimental stage. METH (2 mg · kg-1, i. p) or saline (10 mg · kg-1, i. p) was injected every other day. Rb1 (10 mg · kg-1, i.p) or saline was pre-injected lh before injection of METH or saline. After perfusion, the hippocampus was isolated from brain on ice, and the expression levels of NR2B, CREB and p-CREB were detected by Western blot. Results The animal model of METH-induced CPP was successfully established. The rats were pretreated with Rbl (10 mg · kg-1) for 1 h, and the time that the rats stayed in drug-paired was significantly reduced compared with METH group. Western blot results showed that NR2B, p-CREB and p-CREB/CREB significantly increased in METH group and without altering CREB expression levels compared with control group. However, after pre-treated with Rbl, the expression levels of NR2B, p-CREB and p-CREB/CREB decreased compared with METH group. Conclusions METH can significantly induce CPP in rats. Rbl may inhibit METH-induced CPP in rats by regulating NR2B and p-CREB.

A clinical laboratory information system consists of two parts--the information system and the management system. Its development is based on scientific and rational lab-workflow, consulting the international standard HL7 Protocol, and combined with barcode technique and instrument communication. The information system mainly manages the data which come from the whole lab testing process while the management system is dominating the lab office work and management decisions.

Chinese Journal of Burns 2005;21(6):442-444
OBJECTIVETo investigate the protective effect of high density lipoprotein on the cardiac function of rats with severe burns.
METHODSOne hundred and thirty-five Wistar rats were employed in the study and were randomly divided into control (n = 15, without treatment), burn (n = 60, with 30% TBSA full-thickness burn on the back) and experimental (n = 60, with the injection of HDL (80 mg/kg) via the caudal vein immediately after burns) groups. The rats in the groups with burn injury were resuscitated with intraperitoneal isotonic saline (50 ml/kg) 30 minutes after burn (PBM). The serum contents of CK, ICAM-1 and TNF-alpha of the rats of all the three groups were determined with corresponding methods. The histological changes in the cardiac muscle tissue of the rats in all groups were observed under light microscope and electronic microscope.
RESULTSThe serum contents of CK, ICAM-1 and TNF-alpha in the control group were obviously lower than those in burn group (P < 0.01), while those in experimental group were also markedly lower than those in control group (P < 0.05 or 0.01). The average reduction rate was 36.5%, 32.0% and 12.6%, respectively. The size and the structure of the cardiac muscular fiber in the control group were even and normal. Compared with the burn group, degeneration, inflammatory infiltration and mitochondrial swelling were found to be less marked in the experimental group at 48 PBH, and no focal lysis and necrosis were found, which were observed in the burn group.
CONCLUSIONHigh density lipoprotein can be beneficial to the protection of cardiac tissue in protecting from secondary injury in rats with severe burns.

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(2):113-118
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of simvastatin on the proliferation and apoptosis of prostatic epithelial RWPE-1 cells.
METHODSRWPE-1 cells cultured in vitro were treated with simvastatin at 0, 10, 20, and 40 μmol/L for 24, 48, and 72 hours followed by determination of their proliferation by MTT assay, and their apoptosis by flow cytometry. The mRNA and protein expressions of Bcl-2, Bax, and Cx43 were detected by fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively.
RESULTSAfter 72 hours of treatment with simvastatin at 10, 20, and 40 μmol/L, the inhibition rates of the RWPE-1 cells were (21.07 ± 6.41)%, (34.87 ± 9.65)%, and (47.18 ± 10.88)%, respectively, significantly higher than (1.21 ± 0.54)% in the control group (P < 0.05) and in a dose-dependent manner (P < 0.05); the cell apoptosis rates were (0.066 ± 0.016)%, (0.126 ± 0.023)%, and (0.192 ± 0.025)%, respectively, remarkably higher than (0.015 ± 0.005)% in the control (P < 0.05) and also in a dose-dependent manner (P < 0.05); the mRNA and protein expressions of Bcl-2 were decreasing while those of Bax and Cx43 increasing with the increased concentration of simvastatin (P < 0.05). The expression of Cx43 was correlated negatively with that of Bcl-2 but positively with that of Bax.
CONCLUSIONSimvastatin inhibits the proliferation of prostate epithelial cells and induce their apoptosis by acting on the gap junctional intercellular communication.

10.Effect of vagal nerve stimulation on heart rate and heart rate variability in the toads.
Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2010;26(2):229-232
OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of vagal stimulation of different frequencies on heart rate and heart rate variability in the toads.
METHODSThe animals were prepared to be models of isolated heart with right vagosympathetic trunks, then the nerves stimulated by different frequencies. Collected the electrocardiogram of isolated hearts and analyzed the data with HRV software.
RESULTSSince the effect of sympathetic nerve had been diminished, vagal stimulation resulted in HR being markedly attenuated (P < 0.01), SDNN and RMSSD being significantly increased (P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in different levels of frequency. Contrast to group control, HR,SDNN and RMSSD each changed clearly. At the frequency of 0.2 Hz, HF increased markedly (P < 0.01), and LF/HF decreased obviously (P < 0.05) in group P + P. While at the frequency of 0.8 Hz, HF and LF/HF were both around the level of pre-stimulation.
CONCLUSIONThese findings suggest that in the certain electrical stimulation frequency range, the effect of vagal on HR increases along with the frequency. Without the effect of sympathetic nerve, the modulation of vagal to HR and HRV may have different ways.
