OBJECTIVETo summarize laws of acupoint selection of prescriptions for treatment of cervicogenic headache by acupuncture in modern literature.
METHODSRandomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving acupuncture and moxibustion for treatment of cervicogenic headache were recruited from CBM (1978-2012), VIP (1989-2012), Wanfang Database (1998-2012), CNKI (1979-2012), PubMed (1966-2012), EMbase (1980-2012), and Cochrane Library (Volume 4, 2012). Hand recruitment was also auxiliarily used. The frequency and percentage of common acupoints, the distribution of acupoints along 14 meridians and across each part of the body, the application of specific acupoints, and features of using prescriptions for specific acupoints were statistically described.
RESULTSTotally 37 recruited papers included 42 acupoints and 159 times. Common acupoints covered Fengchi (GB20, 28 times), Jingjiaji (EX-B2, 21 times), Baihui (DU 20, 12 times), Tianzhu (BL9, 1 times), and Ashi point (11 times). Meridians along which acupoints were used mainly covered Foot-shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, Foot-taiyang Bladder Meridian, and DU meridian. Acupoints were mainly needled from head, neck, and upper limbs. Eight confluence points and luo-connecting point were commonest used as specific acupoints. Acupuncture prescriptions were mostly composed of multiple acupoints. Filliform needle was mainly used in acupuncture methods, followed by electro-acupuncture needle.
CONCLUSIONSModern acupuncture treatment of cervicogenic headache focuses on local specific points and acupoints along meridians. Acupoints were mostly selected from head, neck, and upper limbs by syndrome typing of Chinese medicine.

Endostatin(ES), the C-terminal fragment of collagen XVIII, is a potent angiogenesis inhibitor. At present, there are a large number of research papers on ES. It has already been on clinical stage Ⅱ and been widely used in inhibition of neovascularization(NV). However, how to improve the bioactivity of ES is still a matter of ongoing discussion. The objective of this review is to elucidate the relationship between the modified ES and ocular neovascualrization, and to discuss the superiority based on the structure modification. The structure can be changed either by covalent modification or by genetical mutation. It is proposed that the secondary structral ES enhance the anti-angiogenic activity. Studies on modified ES also shed light on our understanding of the molecular action mechanisms of ES. Modified ES may be exploited as a new angiogenesis inhibitor for therapeutic applica-tions, in substitution of the native ES. Activity
7.Different concentration of iodized salt for preventing iodine deficiency disorder: a systematic review
Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2009;28(5):579-582
Objective To assess the effectiveness of different concentration of iodized salt for preventing iodine deficiency disorders. Methods Using the principle and method of systematic review, we searched Cochrane Library(from 1994 to Mar. 2007), Medline(from 1966 to Mar. 2007), BA(from 1969 to Mar. 2007), PubMed(from 1950 to Mar. 2007), OC1D(from 1950 to Mar. 2007), ISI Web of Knowledge(from 1966 to Mar. 2007), Vip (from 1989 to Mar. 2007), Wanfang(from 1997 to Mar. 2007), CBMDisc(from 1978 to Mar. 2007) and CNKI(1994 to Mar. 2007) and hand searched 6 relevant Chinese journals, including Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine, Chinese Journal of Endemiology, Chinese Journal of Epidemiology, Chinese Journal of Control of Endemic Disease, Endemic Diseases Bulletin and Modern Preventive Medicine. We screened the for eligible studies according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria to be rigorously evealuatecl descriptly and qualitatively. Results Thirteen studies were included, of which, the first six were intervention trials with comparison, including two community intervention trials, which classified all objects into different groups, using iodized salt at different concentration as intervention, four were RCTs with different intervention methods, compare the iodized salt with other intervention measures. Seven were cross-sectional studies, which analyzed the iodine nutrition of people after the concentration of iodized salt was lowered down. Because of different interventions in control groups and different outcome measures, it was difficult to perform recta-analysis, a descriptive analysis of the results was presented. Most studies showed that urinary iodine level decreased as the concentration of iodized salt went down gradually. When the concentration of iodized salt went down to the best level recommended, goiter rate decreased obviously. Conclusions Iodized salt was considered as the hest method of iodine supply to prevent iodine deficiency disorders. But effectiveness of preventing iodine deficiency disorders with various concentration of iodized salt is different. To lower the concentration of iodized salt properly can not only prevent iodine deficiency disorders but also reduce the side effect of excess iodine intake to the minimum. And it can also save a lot of iodine resource. Well-designed community-based intervention trials with large sample size are needed to confirm the effect of different concentration of iodized salt on preventing iodine deficiency disorder.

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2009;31(4):328-329
Objective To explone the therapeutic effect and mechanism of Quyuhuatan decoction in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with abnormal metabolism of lipid. Methods 85 cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with abnormal metabolism of lipid were recruited into a control group and a treatment group randomly. The treatment group (45cases) was treated with Quyuhuatan decoction and subcutaneous insulin injection while the control group(40cases) was treated with subcutaneous insulin injection exclusively. Both groups received the treatment for for 8 weeks. The result of TC, TG, LDL-C, and HDT-C were observed before and after the treatment. Results The improvement of blood lipid in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group (t=0.011, P<0.05) . Conclusion Quyuhuatan decoction is effective in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with abnormal metabolism of lipid. The mechanism might be related with its cutting off pathological paths of hyperlipidemia.

Chinese Journal of Practical Pediatrics 2001;(3):162-164
Objective To distinguish primary CMV infection from reactivation or reinfection. Methods A urea denaturation test was included in the washstep of the standard IgG ELISA in 12 patients of age<12 whose serum CMV-IgG were positive, avidity indexes of CMV-IgG were measured. Results Among children aged 1~12 years, the varieties of avidity indexes of CMV-IgG in A group(IgM negative and IgG positive) and B group(IgM positive and IgG positive) had the same trend. There was only one case in B group whose avidity index was under 30%, the other were all above 30%, and most were above 50%. But among 40 children aged 1~12 months, the avidity indexes were under 30% in 21 cases,8 cases were 30~50% ,and 11 cases were above 50%. The antibody avidity in 1~6 months children was influenced by their mothers lgG,80% (12/15) of 7 ~12 months children had low-avidity antibodies. Conclusion CMV infection mostly occurred among 1~12 months children. Urea denaturation test was an efficient method to distinguish primary CMV infection from reactivation or reinfection.

Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 1993;0(02):-
Objective To observe the effects of gypenosides(GP) on cardiac dysfunction induced by adriamycin in rats and to investigate the therapeutic mechanism. Methods Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:control group, adriamycin(ADR) group,low-,moderate-and high-dose GP groups. The low-,moderate-and high-dose GP groups received GP 100,200 and 400 mg? kg-1? d-1 for five days respectively.Meanwhile, the purified water was given to rats of control group and adriamycin groups. On the sixth day,adriamycin(10 mg? kg-1) was given intraperitoneally(ip) to all the groups except the control rats.At the twenty-fourth hour after administration of adriamycin, the cardiac functions such as left ventricular systolic pressure(LVSP),maximal rates of increase and decrease of left ventricular pressure(? dp/dtmax),as well as the activities of cardiac ATPase, succinic dehydrogenase(SDH) and sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase(SERCA2a) were measured. Results The impairment of heart function induced by adriamycin was relieved and the activities of cardiac ATPase,SDH and SERCA2a were obviously increased after GP treatment. Conclusion GP have protective effects on cardiac dysfunction induced by adriamycin in rats, and the mechanism may be related to the increase of activities of cardiac ATPase,SDH and SERCA2a.
