Objective To investigate the efficacy of uterine artery chemoembolization in the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer.Methods A total of 268 patients with locally advanced cervical cancer were treated with uterine artery chemoembolization in our department.The stage distribution among the patients included 132 stage Ⅰ B2,85 stage Ⅱ A1 and 51 stage Ⅱ A2.There were 223 patients of squamous cell carcinoma,24 patients of adenocarcinoma,9 patients of adenosquamous carcinoma,small cell carcinoma of the 7 patients,5 patients of neuroendocrine carcinoma.Transcatheter uterine artery infusion of paclitaxel and nedaplatin,gelatin sponge particles was applied for uterine artery embolization.The clinicopathological parameters were analyzed,and their impacts on tumor response were investigated.RECIST criteria were used to evaluate the response in solid tumors.Student t test was used to compare cervical tumor diameter before and after treatment,and Chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data.Follow up examinations included pelvic ultrasound,gynecology,vaginal stump cell smears.Results Of the 268 patients,74 (27.6％) patients showed a complete response,160 (59.7％) patients had a partial response to uterine artery chemoembolization,and the overall response rate was 87.3％.A total of 258 (96.3 ％) patients underwent surgery,and pathological complete response were identified in 46 (17.2％).Forty (14.9％) patients were found to have lymph node metastasis after surgery.Response rates of stage Ⅰ B2 and Ⅱ A cases were 94.7％ and 80.1％,respectively,P ＜ 0.05.Patients with squamous cell carcinoma showed a better response rate than patents with other pathological types (94.2％ vs.53.3％),P ＜ 0.05.Initial tumor volume and cycles of preoperative uterine artery chemoembolization had no effect onthe response rate.Conclusions Uterine artery chemoembolization can increase the rate of surgical resectionof patients with locally advanced cervical cancer and can improve the reaction rate with tolerable side effect.It is an applicable option of treatment for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer in the neoadjuvanttreatment.

Seventy-one patients with variant angina (VA) admitted in the Cardiology Department from January 2003 to March 2011,were divided into non-stenosis group (stenosis ＜ 50％,n =43) and stenosis group (stenosis ≥50％,n =28) according to the degree of stenosis.The differences of the risk factors,clinical manifestations,electrocardiogram,echocardiogram and laboratory examinations between these two groups were compared.The average age of patients in stenosis group 58 ± 8 y was higher than that in non-stenosis group (52 ± 9 y,t =2.43,P =0.02).Other risk factors,including male gender,smoking,hypertension,diabetes mellitus and lipid disorder did not show any differences between the two groups.Percentage of patients with angina pectoris lasting less than 5 min was higher in stenosis group (x2 =5.98,P =0.02),while percentage of effort angina,seeking medical consultation ≤ 6 months of onset and hemodynamic disorders showed no difference.Laboratory examinations had no differences.It is difficult to determine whether the VA patient has fixed coronary stenosis by analyzing the risk factors,clinical manifestations and laboratory examinations; to determine the fixed coronary stenosis coronary angiography is necessary.

The antitumor activities of NL-101,aHDACi/DNA damage dual-targeting drug,on human multiple myeloma in vitro and in vivo were studied.Furthermore,the primary mechanisms were revealed.We detected the anti-proliferative activity of NL-101 on 10 human multiple myeloma cell lines,and the combinational effect of NL-101 and bortezomib on RPMI 8226 cell line.The inducing effects of NL-101 on cell cycle arrest and apoptosis were detected by FACS.The effects of NL-101 on acetyled-Histone H3,total Histone H3,acetyled α-Tubulin,total α-Tubulin,phospho-Histone H2A.X and total Histone H2A.X were evaluated by Western blott.We also demonstrated the antitumor activity of NL-101 and the combinational effect of NL-101 and bortezomib on RPMI 8226 xenograft tumor model in vivo.Results showed that NL-101 possessed strong antitumor activities on human multiple myeloma cells in vitro and in vivo.NL-101exhibited significant HDAC inhibitory activity and DNA alkylating activity.NL-101not only inhibited histone deacetylation level,but also increased the DNA damage in multiple myeloma cells.Meanwhile,NL-101 induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.Also,the synergistic effect of NL-101 was discovered when combined with bortezomib in vitro and in vivo.These data demonstrated that NL-101 may be a potent agent for the treatment of human multiple myeloma in future.

Objective To study the effect of a polysaccharide from cuscuta chinensis lam (PCCL) on antisenility and its mechanism. Methods Sixty Kunming mice were randomized into 6 groups. The three PCCL groups were administrated with PCCL of 100, 200, 400 mg?kg -1?d -1 orally, the positive control group with vitamin E of 200 mg?kg -1?d -1, the model group and control group with the same volume of control solution only. At the same time, the model group, the positive group and the three PCCL groups were subcutaneously injected of 5% D-gal at the dose of 0.5 ml at the nape, and the control with the same volume of saline solution. Seven weeks later, the MDA, SOD activity, GSH-PX activity in the liver and kidney of mice and lipofuscin (LF) in mouse brain were detected with the methods of TBA, Nitrate, DTNB and Sohal, respectively. The data were analyzed with SPSS software and the data between groups were analyzed with one-factor variance analysis. Results Thymus index and spleen index dropped, LF rose in brain, malondialdehyde (MDA) content rose and the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) dropped in liver and kidney in senile mouse model. PCCL administration of 100, 200, 400 mg?kg -1?d -1 made thymus index and spleen index rising, LF dropping in brain, MDA content dropping,SOD and GSH-PX LF rising in liver and kidney of senile mouse model. Conclusion PCCL may postpone senility, which mechanism probably connected with rising immunity, eliminating oxygen free radicals and antilipoperoxidation.

A HPLC method was established to determine the contents of the five anthraquinones and rhaponticin in the different varieties of Rhei Radix et Rhizoma. The difference existed in different varieties. The results showed that rhein and rhaponticin were marker substances which could be used to distinguish palm leaf groups rhubarb and wave leaf groups rhubarb. Authentic rhubarb didn't contain rhaponticin. Falsify rhubarb contains trace amounts of rhein. Rheum tanguticum contains abundant rhein. The ratio value of the content of rhein to chrysophanol could be used to distinguish R. tanguticum from the other two authentic varieties (R. palmatum and R. officinale). The content of rhaponticin varied largely in different varieties of wave leaf groups rhubarb.

T lymphocyte subset and NK cells in the blood of SCI patients were measured by APAAP(Alkaline Phosphatase Antialkaline Phosphatase) in order to study the change of immune function in SCI patients.The results showed that cell mediated and non specific immune function in SCI patients was decreased. It plays a role in the rehabilitation of SCI patients to increase immune function.

Drug reservation wag investigated in 2077 community residents.We found that most drugs were obtained from the hospitals(83.78%),kept at a relatively lower place(69.23%),packed in box(75.25%),and did not meet the storage requirement(72.60%).Half of the overdue drugs(median time,12 months)were used for internal treatment.This study suggests that there might be unsafe drug storage in communities.

Justified the necessity of remote pathology consultation in China, and described the basic approach of such consultation in terms of the conditions, organizational framework, specialists and consultation process of the hospital. on the basis of benefit in pationts, the consultation helps the development of the pathology department and other specialist departments at the same time, builds initially a pathology quality control system, and accelerates the multi-discipline diagnosis and treatment approach. Expect to encourage contemplation on international remote pathology consultation in an effort to improve such a practice for the benefit of patients.
