OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of concentrations of alcohol in precipitation method on polysaccharide contents in order to optimize the extractive condition of Xinmaishen oral liquid METHODS:Taking the total polysaccharides in the decoction as target and dertermining the effective components by phenol-vitriol colorimetry, the effects of 4 alcohol concentrations(50%,60%,70%,80%) on polysaccharide contents were studied RESULTS:The results showed that the polysaccharide contents sharply decreased with the increase of alcohol concentration When the alcohol concentration reached 80%,the polysaccharide content lost nearly 70% CONCLUSION:Polysaccharide content should be used as one of exam indices in screening preparation technique of this oral liquid

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and angiographic outcomes of balloon dilation angioplasty,balloon-expandable stent implantation and self-expanding stent implantation in the treatment of intracranial arterial stenosis. Methods The patients with intracranial arterial stenosis who met the indications of surgical intervention treated with balloon dilatation angioplasty and stent placement were selected from Nanjing Stroke Registry Program.According to the different interventional procedures, the patients were divided into the balloon expandable stenting goup, the self-expanding stents group and the balloon dilatation angioplasty group. The success rate of surgery, the perioperative complication rate and the significant residual stenosis rate were compared among the three groups. The clinical and angiographic assessments were performed through 1-,3-,6-,12- and 24-month regular outpatient or inpatient follow-up after procedure. The incidences of ischemic stroke and/or death and restenosis within 2 years were compared.Multivariate Cox proportional hazards analysis was used to analyze the risk factors for recurrent ischemic stroke and/or death and restenosis. Results A total of 183 patients with 192 stenoses performed balloon dilatation angioplasty or stenting,in which 92 were in the balloon expandable stenting goup,42 were in the self-expanding stents goup and 49 in the balloon dilatation angioplasty group.Their preoperative stenosis rates were 80.2 ±12.8% 、76.3 ± 11.9% and 89.7 ± 10.2%,respectively (F =15.863,P =0.000).There were no significant differences in other baseline data. The success rates of surgery in the balloon expandable stenting group,self-expanding stents group and balloon dilatation angioplasty group were 96.7%,95.2% and 91.8%,respectively (x2 =1.646,P =0.439).The perioperative complication rates were 6.5%,14.3% and 10.2%,respectively (Fisher exact test,P=0.334).The imaging follow-up showed that the restenosis rate in the balloon dilatation angioplasty group was 48.5%.Although it was high than 27.7% in the balloon expandable stenting group and 34.8% in the self-expanding stents group, there were no significant differences (x2 =4.176,P =0.124).Multivariate Cox proportional hazards analysis showed that balloon dilatation angioplasty was an independent risk factor for restenosis after procedure (hazard ratio 2.490,95% confidence interval 1.247- 4.969,P=0.010).Conclusions Compared to the balloon expandable stenting, the balloon dilatation angioplasty is more likely to have restenosis, but it is not associated with the risks of postoperative recurrent ischemic stroke and/or death.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Pipers hancei extract on the atherosclerosis of rabbits fed with high lipid food and to discuss its mechanism of action.METHODS:The rabbits were divided into high lipid group,Pipers hancei groups (high, medium and low dose groups),which were fed with high lipid food for 3 weeks before administered with medicine or normal saline,12 weeks later, the blood lipid, pathological changes of aortic plaque and lesion of coronary artery, serum superoxide dismutase (SOD)activity and serum malondialdehyde (MDA)activity were determined,in which a control group was established.RESULTS:Compared with the high lipid group, the levels of serum total cholesterol (TC),triglycerides (TG)and low density lipoprotein (LDL)have been significantly decreased for the high dose Pipers hancei group(P

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the utilization of drugs in children with ventricular septal defect(VSD) undergoing operation.METHODS:The medical orders of 120 VSD children patients in our hospital in 2005 were analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS:The per capita drug cost was(3 067.20? 325.04) yuan, accounting for 9.52% of the total medical cost.Circulatory system drugs and antibiotics were the chief categories.Leading the first 3 places in terms of DDDs were cefuroxime, vecuronium bromide and furosemide, respectively.CONCUSION:The drug cost for VSD children patients was relatively low and reasonable.

Objective To investigate the feasibility of reconditioning post-sclerotherapy basifacial depressions for venous malformations with the axis platysma-fascial flap including submental artery. Methods Fifteen cases of post-sclerotherapy depressions of venous malformations were treated from Dec.2008 to Oct.2013.Preoperative color Doppler ultrasonography was routinely performed to localize and mark sublingualissubmental artery.Upper hind neck incision was made to dissociate depressed and donor area, after which reconstruction were performed with axis platysma-fascial flap including submental artery.3 months to 2 years' follow-ups were conducted to observe clinical effects. Results All the flaps were alive in all the 15 cases.Satisfacfory recovery archeived because the depressed area appeared well-stacked wihtout secondary depression in the neck. Conclusions It is recommended that axis platysma-fascial flap should be the first chioce of reconditioning basifacial postsclerotherapy depressions for venous malformations,as the operations can be peformed easily under concealed incision with abundant tissues supply and high survival rate.

Objective To investigate the possible mechanism of scutellarin on the apoptosis of human tongue squa?mous carcinoma Tca8113 cells. Methods Human tongue squamous carcinoma Tca8113 cells were divided into control group and scutellarin groups (80, 120 and 160 mg/L). Tunel method was used to detect the apoptosis. Immunohistochemistry and Western blot assay was used to detect the caspase-8 protein expression of cells. Results (1)The apoptotic rates of Tca8113 cells were significantly high in scutellarin groups (80, 120 and 160 mg/L) than those in control group [(17.63 ± 0.25)%, (36.23±0.36)%, (51.84±0.58)%vs (4.45±0.27)%, P<0.05].(2)Compared with control group, the expressions of cas?pase-8 protein were significantly increased in different concentrations (80, 120 and 160 mg/L) of scutellarin groups (0.283± 0.040 vs 0.474±0.031, 0.592±0.077, 0.781±0.020,P<0.05). Conclusion Scutellarin could obviously induce the apoptosis of human tongue squamous carcinoma Tca8113 cells, which may be related to the caspase-8 protein expression.
