5.Study on effects of Weiati 999 on treating the chronic gastritis
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2002;269(2):41-50
Author used Weiati 999 to treat 60 patients with chronic gastritis. The results have shown that 81.2% of treated patients did not have upper abdominal pain and the other symptoms also disappeared in 61.6% to 87.1% of patients. Endoscopically, 71,7% of treated patients had not gastric mucosal inflammation after treatment. The good effect on the activity of inflammation appeared in 75.4%. The ratio of HP eradication is 34.5%. It should note that the effects of Weitai 999 in patients with HP (-) is better than these in patients with HP (+). The effects in patients with atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia is not statistical significance.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: We performed a randomized, double-blind, phase III, multicenter trial to assess the comparative efficacy and safety of revaprazan, which is a novel acid pump antagonist in comparison with ranitidine for treating patients suffering with acute gastritis and acute aggravation of chronic gastritis. METHODS: Five hundred and twelve subjects were randomized to 2 weeks of treatment with either revaprazan 200 mg q.d. or ranitidine 150 mg b.i.d. The primary efficacy parameter was the estimated improvement rate according to endoscopy, and the secondary efficacy parameter was the improvement rate for the subjects' symptoms. RESULTS: The estimated improvement rates at 2 weeks (intention-to-treat analysis) were 79.9% with revaprazan and 60.5% with ranitidine; a significant difference was found between the two groups (p<0.0001). On the per-protocol analysis, the estimated improvement rates for revaprazan and ranitidine were 79.4% and 60.2%, respectively. There was a significant difference in the estimated improvement rates between the two groups (p<0.0001). On both analyses, there were no significant differences between the two groups for the improvement rates of the subjects' symptoms. Both drugs were well tolerated. CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of revaprazan was higher than that of ranitidine for the estimated improvement rate according to endoscopy and also for the symptomatological improvement rate, and revaprazan was well tolerated by the subjects suffering with gastritis.

9.Study on histopathological features of chronic gastritis with Helicobacter pylori and the association between them
Journal of Practical Medicine 2001;396(4):16-19
The study was conducted on 69 patients with Helicobacter pylori-related chronic gastritis that was confirmed by endoscopy, histopathological findings, urease test and culture. The severity of HP-related chronic gastritis and the HP infectivity of body and antrum of stomach followed and the relationship between severity of chronic gastritis and HP infectivity was determined. The results showed that all patients had inflammatous lesions in body and antrum. The HP incidence and infectivity were both higher in body than in antrum. The activity of inflammation and the severity of chronic inflammation in body and antrum increased positively with the HP infectivity.

10.The comparison of the efficacy of the outline of sucrategel + amoxicilline (AS) and Sucrategel + Betelvine (BS) (the total extraction from leaves of piper betle piperaceae) in the treatment of chronic gastritis's with H. pylori by histopathology
Journal of Practical Medicine 2001;401(8):35-38
The histopathological tests of 70 patients have shown that the rate of killing of H. pylori of outlines AS and BS were 51.51% and 59.56%, respectively. Both outlines had an anti-inflammatory effect and interruption of the inflammatory action with the rates of AS and BS were 42.42% and 51.35%, respectively, or reduced the inflammatory action level, concurrently recovered the level of the chronic inflammatory. The treatment of above two outlines found not influence clearly on the intestinal dysphasia and heteroplasia.
