Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2006;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the mechanism of anti-aging effect of Yangyan Quban particles on the aging skin. Methods With the dose of D-galactose 1000 mg/(kg?d) by sc administration to the female mice for 42 days, the aging model was established. The mice received Yangyan Quban particles (6.68, 3.34, 1.67 g/kg) by ig administration at the same time of injecting D-galactose. Forty-two days later, the dorsal skin samples were collected to determine glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity and serum estradiol (E2) contents, and the influence on uterus, ovary, skin dry and wet weight and the amount of water intake were studied. Results Compared with the aged model mice, the GSH-Px activity and E2 contents in the mice treated with Yangyan Quban particles were increased remarkably, especially the medium is the best dose (P

Objective To assess the effect of scene simulation-based teaching on pediatric advanced life support(PALS)skills in medical students. Methods The students of two grades of Department of Pedi-atrics in Capital Medical University participated in the PALS training. All of them had the examination of the-ory and skills of critical illness management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children before and after the scene simulation-based teaching on PALS.The questionnaire was filled out and the data was analyzed after the training. Results Fifty-one students completed the training. The average score after the training was sig-nificantly higher than that before the training(86.51 ±7.16 vs.53.85 ±14.24,P ﹤0.05).After the training, the error rate of ECG recognition, etiological identification and treatment of the disease, and the dosage as well as usage of medicine was significantly decreased (64.7% vs.15.7%,71.0% vs.10.5%,73.2%vs.25.9%).All of the students could use the defibrillator correctly and the students'satisfaction rate was more than 94%.Conclusion Scene simulation-based teaching on PALS skills can improve the theory and skills of critical illness management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation of children in medical students.

Objective To investigate the effects of CT-guided cervical approach neurolytic therapy of glossopharyngeal nerve in the treatment of glossopharyngeal neuralgia and intractable pain of glossopharyngeal nerve innervation area. Methods A total of 16 cases of glossopharyngeal neuralgia (Group A) and 12 cases of intractable pain of glossopharyngeal nerve innervation area (Group B) were included in this study. Under the guidance of CT scanning, a percutaneous needle puncture was carried out located on the anterior border of the styloid process at the level of the second cervical vertebra. The 7% phenol glycerin solution was injected after the glossopharyngeal nerve was blocked by the local anesthetic. Results The complete remission rate and the total effective rate in the Group A were 87.5% (14/16) and 100% (16/16), respectively. The corresponding values in the Group B were 50% (6/12) and 83.3% (10/12), respectively. Follow-up observations for 6 months found no recurrence in the Group A and 6 cases (50.0%) of recurrence in the Group B. No severe complications occurred in both of groups. Conclusions CT-guided cervical approach neurolytic therapy of glossopharyngeal nerve is characterized by high reliability, accurate location, good operational safety, and fewer complications.

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2001;0(05):-
Objective To discuss the complications of the bilateral uterine artery superselective embolization for uterine fibroids. Methods Fourty one cases(mean 42 years old) with uterine fibroids were approached by right femoral artery puncture; including thirty six cases of single hysteromyoma(33 cases with diameter 10 cm), and 5 cases of multi hysteromyoma. Bilateral uterine artery super selective 5F catheterization embolization were done along uterine descending artery(neck of uterus to vagina)with PVA particles. Rdsults Embolization succeeded with 100% and effective ratio was 92.3%. Sixteen of these cases showed post embolization syndrome, with something outflowed from vagina and 10 cases showed changes of emmenia but with no serious complications in all 41 cases. Conclusion Using bilateral uterine artery superselective embolization for uterine fibroids with PVP grains can decrease the incidence of complications. (J Intervent Radiol, 2006, 15: 280-282)

To study the effects of major components of Maijunan tablets, puerarin (Pue) and rhynchophylline (Rhy) on the transport of hydrochlorothiazide (Hct) Caco-2 cell monolayer model, the transport parameters of Hct, such as apparent permeability coefficient (P(app) (B --> A) and P(app) (A --> B)) and the ratio of P(app) (B --> A) versus P(app) (A --> B), were studied and compared when Hct was used solely and co-used with Pue and/or Rhy. The effects of drug concentrations, conveying times, P-glyprotein (P-gp) inhibitor verapamil and conveying Liq pH values on the transport of Hct in the above conditions were also investigated. The results indicated that the absorption of Hct in Caco-2 cell monolayer model could be a carrier-mediated active transport, along with the excretion action mediated by P-gp. Pue can decrease the excretion action of Hct mediated by P-gp, and Rhy had no significant effect on the transport of Hct. The co-use of Hct, Pue and Rhy enhanced the absorption of Hct. Meanwhile, conveying Liq pH value had significant influence on the transport of Hct. The absorption of Hct at pH 6.0 was higher than that at pH 7.4.

ObjectiveIn our study, the electrical current intensities of 0.05ms square wavelenth in I/t curve were explored in diagnosing damage degree and predicting prognosis of facial paralysis.MethodsAccording to tested 0.05ms intensity values of fronto-occipital muscle and orbicular muscle of mouth in healthy side of 236 cases with facial paralysis and that values of 30 cases with completely-absent nerve, the standard of diagnosing slight, moderate and severe facial paralysis was made. A follow-up survey for the recovery of 198 cases evaluated by House-Brachmann facial nerve grading system was made for one to three years.ResultsIt is found that there were 113 slight cases and 89% of them recovered in 40 days, 112 cases reached to H-B Ⅰgrade; 82% of 49 moderate cases recovered in 4-5 months; 36 severe cases appeared visible mouth corner movement in 2-5 months after onset, and 92% of them had complications or sequelae. Conclusions Intensities of 0.05ms square wavelenth can help in diagnosing damage degree and predicting prognosis of facial paralysis.

Objective To established a bacteriemia model of BALB/c mice after infection with a ST-239 methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) strain, which was isolated and identified from Shanghai Huashan Hospital. Methods We monitored the clinical signs and gross observations of MRSA-infected mice, and examined the histopathology among different groups. Results This isolated MRSA strain ST-239 can induced a typical bacteriemia in BALB/c mice, including the severe mortality and extensive histopathologic injury. However, higher survival rate and slight inflammatory injury were observed in vancomycin-treated mices. Conclusion The solid results obatined in this model will benefit us to study the pathogenic characteristics and patholgenesis in MRSA-induced bacteriemia, and propeled us to seek a safety cure approaches in the future.

Objective: To examine whether there are differences between dependent and independent individual’s shame and sad memories. Methods: Self -report measures were used. Results: ① There were significant interactions between emotion and cognitive style of the number of words recalled, number of times that others were mentioned. ②Field dependent individuals mention more emotional behaviors and presence of others. ③The subjects mentioned more emotion words and time in sad memories. ④In shame memories, there were less self-references than others-references, marginally less self in thinking than self in other descriptions. ⑤In sad memories, field dependent individuals reported less selfreferences than others-references, and less self in thinking than self in other descriptions. ⑥There were more emotional behaviors and self-thinking in sad memories than in shame memories. Conclusion: Field dependent and independent individuals demonstrate differences in emotional memory, and the difference is emotion specificity.
