OBJECTIVETo evaluate a technique for decreasing the tension of the nasal floor during the procedures of repairing complete clef lip.
METHODSWith the designation of an inferior turbinate mucosal flap combined with an oral mucosal flap in the splitting side, the tension was effectively decreased and the nasal floor was closed easily. Eighteen patients was selected for the treatment with this technique since 2000. The follow-ups were 10 to 24 months.
RESULTSAll of the patients showed wound healing well with the significant improvement in the donor site.
CONCLUSIONThe above mentioned technique may effectively decrease the tension and be used to close the nasal floor safely. It could also reduce the incidence of the complications.

Background:
Acne vulgaris (AV) is a common adolescent skin condition which is mainly caused by Cutibacterium acnes overcolonization and subsequent inflammation.
Objective:
Our previous studies demonstrated that ethanol extracts of Meconopsis quintuplinervia Regel (EMQ) possess significant antimicrobial properties. However, their protective effects and potential mechanisms against AV remain unclear.
Methods:
In the present study, the EMQ treatment potential for AV was evaluated in a C.acnes-induced mouse ear edema model, and the EMQ anti-inflammatory mechanism was evaluated in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW264.7 macrophage cells.
Results:
The results showed that EMQ alleviated edema formation and inflammatory cell infiltration in an acne mouse model by suppressing inflammatory cytokines interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1β, and tumor necrosis factor α expression. Moreover, EMQ inhibited the phosphorylation of MAP kinases (MAPKs) such as p38, JNK, and ERK, the phosphorylation and degradation of IκB-α and the nuclear translocation of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) p65 in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells.
Conclusion
These findings suggest the potent anti-inflammatory activity of EMQ is possibly through the regulation of the MAPKs and NF-κB signaling pathways. Inhibition of C. acnes activity combined with a powerful anti-inflammatory effect of EMQ indicated its potential as a novel therapeutic option for AV.

For constructing pcDNA-ORF5, pcDNA-ORF5-ORF6, pcDNA-ORF5/6, the ORF5 and ORF6 of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) were amplified by RT-PCR, and transiently transfected into 293T cells by calciumphosphate co-precipitation. After 48 h, 293T cells were collected and surveyed by flow cytometry examination. The result indicated that the expression level of the E protein that mediated by the M protein was higher than that of the E protein expressed independently. Then pcDNA-ORF5, pcDNA-ORF5-ORF6, pcDNA-ORF5/6 were respectivly co-transfected into 293T cells with pHIT60 (include MuLV structural genes, namely gag and pol) and pHIT111 (retroviral genome, containing LacZ as a reporter). The supernatants were harvested 48 h post-transfection,and the analysis of the characteristic of the pseudotyping virions was performed by Western blot and infection test. The result indicated that the E proteins were expressed on the virions, and incorporated into the retroviral virions. Infection test were performed on Marc-145 and PAM, all the cells infected were Lac Z positive. These results indicated the pseudotype virions of MuLV-E and MuLV-E/M were infectious, and higher infectivity was achieved by MuLV-E/M.
