1.Antiapoptotic Interventions in Intracerebrai Hemorrhage
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(11):-
Tne secondary injury may occur in the perihematomal tissue after intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).Studies have suggested that apoptosis palys an important role in the secondary injury after intracerebral hemorrhage.1he inhibition of apoptosis may significantly improve the neurological deficit after ICH.

Pregnant women with subacute thyroiditis (SAT) are rare. One case was reported and the clinical features and management principles of SAT during pregnancy were reviewed. In pregnant women with SAT,the illness is usually not serious. If subclinical or clinical hypothyroidism develops,L-T4 must be given and thyroid function be monitored routinely, and the medication be adjusted carefully to ensure the maternal-fetal safety.

OBJECTIVE:To study whether Radix Inulae can replace Radix Aristolochiae as medicinal material.METHO_ DS:Comparison was made between Radix Inulae and Radix Aristolochiae in terms of plant resources, functions and indications, chemical compositions, pharmacologic actions, clinical applications, etc.by reviewing literature.RESULTS&CONCLUSIONS:Radix Inulae and Radix Aristolochiae were different in every aspect, thus the two can’t be replaced by each other as medicinal material.

Objective:To observe the effects of rosiglitazone on transforming growth factor-?1(TGF-?1)/SMADs signal pathway in dia- betic rat myoeardium(DM)and cardiac remodeling. Methods:Thirty male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control,DM and rosiglitazone groups, each having 10 rats.Diabetic rats were induced by a single intrapefitoneal injection of streptozotoein(60mg/kg).A cannula connected to a trans- ducer was inserted into the heart to measure the cardiac function. The body weight, heart weight and heart weight/body weight (HW/BW)were measured. The ultrastruetural changes were evaluated by electron microscope and collagen content was assessed by Van Gieson staining. The mRNA expression level of SMAD3 and SMAD7 were determined by RT-PCR.The protein level of TGF-?1,SMAD3 and SMAD7 were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results:Compared with the normal controls, diabetic rats experienced marked myocardium damage.Cardiac function,espe- cially diastolic function was impaired,HW/BW(P

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2009;29(10):1256-1258
In the past few years,it has been disclosed that identified epigenetic processes and epigenetic changes are involved in human diseases.Disorders of these processes may influence chromatin structure and gene expression, which may result in complicated syndroms,multiple-factor diseases and cancers. The researchprogress of epigenetic processes of several diseases is reviewed in this paper.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(08):-
Objective To introduce the strategies of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery for elderly patients over 65 years old. Methods Three hundred and ninety four elderly patients were retrospectively studied, 92.4% of whom were complicated with other diseases. Off-pump CABG (OPCAB) was used in 248 cases (62.4%). For the remaining patients with severely compromised cardiac function or small target vessel with diffuse lesion, conventional CABG (CCABG) was selected. Left internal mammary artery (LIMA) was harvested with extrapleural harvesting technique and grafted to left anterior descending artery (LAD) in 96.2% of patients. Saphenous vein or radial artery was utilized for the other coronary arteries. Transit-time flowmeter (TTFM) was utilized to make sure that grafts were patent with satisfactory blood flow. Perioperative blood sugar level was controlled at 6-10mmol/L by insulin. Results Grafts of per patient were 3.14?0.55 for on-pump CABG and 2.40?0.81 for OPCAB. Three patients died resulting in a mortality of 0.76%. The incidence of complication was 2.28%. The rest recovered uneventfully. Intubation time of OPCAB was significantly shorter than that of CCABG. Patients were discharged within 11.84?4.95 days after operation. Conclusion Good short-term result, namely low incidence of mortality and complication, could be obtained in elderly patients over than 65 years old undertaking CABG.

Ophthalmology in China 1994;0(02):-
Objective To determine and compare the daily cost of various ophthalmic solutions for glaucoma in China. Design Investigative study. Participants The majority ophthalmic solutions for glaucoma available in our country were included in the research. Methods Five bottles of each solution were tested separately by five researchers. After the number of drops and the actual volume for each bottle were calculated, the mean number of drops per bottle and the mean volume per bottle were determined. The volume per drop was calculated by dividing the mean volume per bottle by the mean number of drops per bottle, and the cost per drop was calculated by dividing the market price by the mean number of drops in a bottle. The number of days for both eyes usage per bottle was calculated by dividing the mean number of drops in a bottle by the number of drops required daily for both eyes. The cost per day was calculated by multiplying the cost per drop by the number of drops required daily for both eyes. Main Outcome Measures The number of days for both eyes usage per bottle and the daily cost: for both eyes usage per bottle. Results 1. The volume per drop ranged from 0.027 ml(Lumigan) to 0.053 ml(Chengrui and 0.5%Zhenrui). 2. The cost per bottle ranged from 5.7Yuan(Malaisuan Saimaluo'er) to 338Yuan (Xalatan). 3. The number of days for both eyes usage per bottle ranged from 52d (Lumigan) to 12d ( Zhenrui). 4. The daily cost for both eyes usage from expensive to cheap were Xalatan 7.51Yuan, Travatan 6.30 Yuan, Lumigan 3.84 Yuan, Alphagan 3.36 Yuan, Dilijian 2.97 Yuan, Pailiming 2.83 Yuan, 2%Zhenrui 2.34 Yuan, Betagan 2.11 Yuan, Beiteshu 2.0 Yuan, 0.5% Zhenrui 1.49 Yuan, 2%Huming 1.29 Yuan, Mikelan 1.21 Yuan,1%Huming 0.85 Yuan, Chengrui 0.63 Yuan, Malaisuan Saimaluo'er 0.23 Yuan. Conclusions The daily cost of ophthalmic solution for glaucoma ranged wildly. These data may be useful in selecting ophthalmic solution for glaucoma therapy.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2001;0(07):-
Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal cocoon. Methods The clinical data of 16 patients with abdominal cocoon were analyzed retrospectively . Result All the 16 patients with abdominal cocoon were treated and confirmed by operation. Before operation, 11 patients were misdiagnosed as mechanical intestinal obstruction, 4 as chronic appendicitis, and 1 as abdominal tumor. All patients were operated on and postoperative complications were found in 2 patients. All patients were curred clinically and followed up for 1-10years. 2 patients were died of relapsing intestinal obstruction 1,5 years after operation. 2 occurred relapsing incomplete intestinal obstruction accompaning with malnutrition, 12 patients were good during the follow up period. Conclusions Preoperative diagnosis of abdominal cocoon is difficult. The diagnosis mainly depends on the upper gastrointestinal radiography, B-ultrasonography and CT. Removal of the membrane and releasing the intestine adhesions is an effective method in treating this disease.
