2.The effects of visual feedback in retraining upper limb motion after stroke
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2014;36(4):278-280
Objective To explore the effectiveness of visual feedback in retraining upper limb function after stroke. Methods Sixty-one hemiplegic stroke patients were randomly assigned to a treatment group (31 cases)which received motion training using visual feedback in addition to routine neurodevelopment treatment and a motor relearning program, and a control group (30 cases) which received only the neurodevelopment treatment and a motor relearning program. The Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) and the modified Ashworth scale (MAS) were used for as-sessment before treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the FMA and MAS scores of both groups had improved significantly,as had the strength of the forearm flexors. The improvements were significantly greater in the treatment group than in the control group. Conclusion Motion training with visual feed-back can alleviate upper limb spasticity after stroke significantly better than routine rehabilitation alone.
3.The research progress of galactose-deficient IgA1 in the related kidney diseases
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2014;(5):489-491
In recent years, IgA nephropathy and Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura nephritis attract more and more attention on their unclear pathogenesis, single diagnostic criteria, long duration and poor prognosis, etc. Research suggests that IgA nephropathy and purpura nephritis are IgA immune complex related diseases, and serum galactose-deficient is elevated in patients with these two dis-eases, which might become a noninvasive biomarker for the diagnosis, prognosis prediction and disease development monitoring for IgA nephropathy and purpura nephritis. Galactose-deficient IgA1 is reviewed for its discovery, structure, process, the possible patho-genic mechanism and its significance in details in this paper.
4.Effects of erythropoietin on neural function and brain cell apoptosis in rats after cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2014;23(5):402-404
Objective To study the effect of erythropoietin (EPO) on neural function and brain cell apoptosis in rats after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Methods Adult male SD rats were randomly divided into control group and EPO group with 24 in each group.A rat model of asphyxial cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was established. The neurological functions were assessed using neurological deficit score (NDS) 12 h and 24 h after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The expressions of the apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) and caspase-3 mRNA in cerebral cortex tissue were detected using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) at 0 h,12 h,and 24 h,respectively. Results Compared with the DNS scores in the control group (12 h:(60.00± 3.38) ;24 h:(54.50±2.56),respectively),12 h and 24 h NDS scores were (70.50±4.04) and (65.88±2.64) in EPO group after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the difference was statistically different (P<0.01).The AIF mRNA expression levels of 12 h (1.31±0.26) and 24 h (1.87±0.17) after cardiopulmonary resuscitation in EPO group were obviously lower than those in the control group (12 h:(1.88 ± 0.18),24h:(2.71 ± 0.24),respectively),and the differences were statistically different (P<0.01).The Caspas-3 mRNA expression levels of 12 h (1.49± 0.15) and 24 h (1.56±0.10) after cardiopuhmonary resuscitation in EPO group were obviously lower than those in the control group (12 h:(1.68± 0.10),24h:(1.84 ± 0.16),respectively),and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion EPO can reduce AIF and caspase-3 mRNA transcription, reduce apoptosis in cortical neurons caused by the cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injury after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and therefore improve brain function.

Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(2):133-136
There are 10%-25% inherited breast cancer patients among all breast cancer patients.Hereditary factors play an important role in the occurrence and development of inherited breast cancer. There are three kinds of susceptibility genes of inherited breast cancer including high penetrance susceptibility genes, middle penetrance susceptibility genes and low penetrance susceptibility genes.Various susceptibility genes are closely related to inherited breast cancer.
7.Expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in the treatment of diabetic foot using bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell transplantation
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(40):7169-7174
BACKGROUND:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem celltransplantation has been confirmed to have excellent effect on the treatment of diabetic foot.
OBJECTIVE:To assess the therapeutic effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem celltransplantation on diabetic foot ulcers and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor.
METHODS:Literatures concerning the effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem celltransplantation on foot diabetic and expression of vascular endothelial stem cells were retrieved. Articles that met the criteria were analyzed in depth. Here, we analyzed the experimental research and clinical application of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of diabetic foot. In experimental studies, rat models of diabetic foot ulcers were established and subjected to bone marrow mesenchymal stem celltransplantation to observe wound healing of ulcers and analyze the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor. In clinical research, the fol ow-up was conducted in diabetic foot patients undergoing bone marrow mesenchymal stem celltransplantation to observe the wound healing of ulcers and adverse reactions.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Experimental studies have shown that bone marrow mesenchymal stem celltransplantation is better than conventional treatment in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, but the healing of diabetic foot ulcers is stil slower than that of normal ulcers. After celltransplantation, the expression of vascular endothelial stem cells is elevated but stil lower than that in the normal ulcer controls. Clinical studies have shown that for patients with diabetic foot ulcers, the ulcer wound can be healed after bone marrow mesenchymal stem celltransplantation, as wel as there are no cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, liver and kidney damage and changes in bleeding and coagulation time.
8.Research progress in microsomal triglyceride transfer protein and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2014;30(1):76-78
Microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) is a key transfer protein in lipid metabolism and is mainly expressed in the hepatocytes and enterocytes. It plays an important role in transferring triglyceride as well as in assembly and secretion of very low density lipoprotein.Recent studies have shown that MTP is closely related to the onset and development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
9.Local recurrence of rectal carcinoma: diagnosis and treatment
International Journal of Surgery 2009;36(11):789-792
Rectal carcinoma is a common malignant tumor in China. Although it decreased greatly after the introduction of total mesorectal excision and preoperative radiotherapy, the local recurrence rate of rectal carcinoma after curative surgery is still up to 11.3%. Surgery is the most effective treatment for local recurrence of rectal carcinoma. If excised radically, the five-year survival of patients with rectal carcinoma could be more than 35%. Only a few patients will benefit from ex-tended radical surgery because of its extremely high postoperative morbidity and mortality. Strict selection of patients by mul-tiple preoperative examinations makes extended radical surgery more reasonable. For the unresectable advanced recurrent rectal carcinoma, multimodality palliative therapy could lead to symptom relief, elevated quality of life and prolonged surviv-al. We discuss the diagnosis and treatment of recurrent rectal carcinoma in this review.
10.Progresses in mechanisms of tumor metastasis
International Journal of Surgery 2011;38(1):40-43
Tumor metastasis, the main characteristic and important indication of malignant tumor, is also the primary cause of death for most cancer patients. The tumor metastasis is a multistep process involving various factors, multiple interactions of many genes as well as the microenvironment. To investigate the mechanism of tumor metastasis will help us understand the essences of metastasis process, therefore exploring molecular targets for clinical diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
