Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(51):10117-10120
BACKGROUND: To summarize the feature and clinical application of various injectable bone substitutes.DATA SOURCES: The computer-based research was done in Pubmed database for articles concerning various injectable bone substitutes published from January 1995 to May 2009 with the key words of "injectable bone substitute, bone injury" in titles and abstracts. Literatures of the same fields published in recent years or in authorized journals were selected.DATA SELECTION: Latest literatures addressing feature and clinical application of various injectable bone substitutes were selected; old and repetitive studies were excluded. Finally, 21 articles were included.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Feature and clinical application of various injectable bone substitutes were measured.RESULTS: Present various injectable bone substitutes contained complex hydroxyapatite bone substitutes, complex calcium sulfate bone substitutes, and complex calcium phosphate bone substitutes. Addition of bone morphogenetic protein-2 etc. in injectable bone substitute could significantly elevate bone union speed, promote osteoblastic proliferation, and overcome disadvantage of physical bone substitute to some degrees. Addition of platelet-rich plasma could promote repair effect of injectable bone substitute on bone defects, and promote differentiation of bone marrow stromal stem cells and proliferation of osteoblasts. Addition of cells could make up the insufficiency of physical materials to great degrees.CONCLUSION: The compound injectable bone substitute has a bright perspective of clinical application. Injectable bone substitutes combined with cells (especially stem cells) will be a new direction for biomaterial development in the future.
4.Application and research advances in cholelithiasis animal models
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2010;16(9):711-715
As a tool, cholelithiasis animal models have become an important platform for pathogenetic, preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic research. As biliary calculus formation has a close relationship with dysfunction of hepatic and biliary systems, inability of lipid metabolism homeostasis and impairment of immunologic barriers, increasing studies have been carried out with the use of animal models in these fields. Animal genetic susceptibility to cholelithiasis has greatly attracted people's attention in recent years and cholelithiasis animal models have been used in Chinese traditional medicine development and authentication. Furthermore, reports on invasive and traumatic research have been published in which large animal models were used. It is supposed that technical progress and scientists' demands would result in wide application of more kinds of cholelithiasis animal models.

7.Influence of nutrition support therapy on quality of life in patients with advanced tumors
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2013;20(21):3217-3219
Objective To investigate the effect of nutrition support therapy on quality of life in patients with advanced tumors. Methods 70 patients with advanced tumors were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, each group had 35 cases. The control group was given conservative treatment, together with the ordinary liquid,semi-liquid or diet. The observation group was given nutrition support therapy on the basis of conservative therapy. The nutrition and immune index and symptom score, quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The nutrition, immune indexes (Alb,BMI and NK) and symptom score (malaise, anorexia, insomnia, pain) of the observation group were significantly improved(t =7.92,6.98,5.56,7.41,6.47,5.61,4.52,all P < 0.05),which were significantly better than those of the control group(t =4.42,4.10,4.03,6.42,5.60,4.83,4.23,all P <0.05).The physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function score and total score of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (t =8.12,6.08,5.12,4.78,4.32,all P < 0.05).Conclusion Nutrition support therapy can improve the nutritional status of cancer patients in advanced stage, relieve symptoms, improve immune function and quality of life, which is worthy of clinical application.
8.Advance on the research and clinical treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumors
China Oncology 2006;0(10):-
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs) are rarely one of gastrointestinal carcinomas that originate from mesenchymal tissue.GISTs are characterized by expression of CD117 receptor in cells and have variable biological phenotypes ranging from benign to highly malignant. The most common complaints of patients with GISTs are abdominal pain, peptic ulcer, bleeding or/and obstruction in digestive tract.GISTs have an extraordinarily high rate of recurrence after surgical resection and are highly resistant to radiation and standard chemotherapy. The imatinib mesylate(Gleevec) is a selective inhibitor of the tyrosine kinase receptor. The outcome for the patients with GISTs treated by Gleevec was promising in terms of immediate response and survival fraction.Recent research shows that a new targeting therapeutic agent,SU11248,can prolong the survival time of the patients with GISTs who were resistant to Gleevec therapy.
9.Human erythropoietin-modified human amniotic mesenchymal stem cellsvia subarachnoid transplantation promote neurologic recovery from brain injury
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(23):3432-3438
BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that as a regulator of bone marrow functionerythropoietinis a glycoprotein that controls the development of the central nervous system and has neurotrophic and neuroprotective potential. Therefore, transplantation of human amniotic mesenchymal stem cels geneticaly modified by human erythropoietin is a new choice for brain injury treatment.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of transplantation of human amniotic mesenchymal stem cels geneticaly modified byhuman erythropoietin on the functional recovery from brain injury in rats.
METHODS:Eukaryotic expression plasmid pcDNA3.1 carrying erythropoietin was successfuly constructed and transferred into amniotic mesenchymal stem cels culturedin vitro. Expression of erythropoietin was detected using western blot assay before and after transfection. Rat models of middle cerebral arterial occlusion was made and given transplantation of transfected amniotic mesenchymal stem celsviathe tail vein (transfection group). Additionaly, model and simple cel transplantation groups were set in a comparative study.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Findings from western blot detection showed that transfected cels could express human erythropoietin. Compared with the other groups, modified neurologic severity scores, growth-associated protein 43 and aquaporin 9 at mRNA and protein levels were al decreased significantly in the transfection group. Furthermore, the number of cels positive for CM-Dil was highest in the transfectiongroup, folowed by simple cel transplantation group, and lowest in the model group (alP<0.05). Overal findings from this study show that human erythropoietin-modified human amniotic mesenchymal stem cel transplantation promotes neurologic recoveryfrom brain injury through eliciting a reduction in growth-associated protein 43 and aquaporin 9 at mRNA and protein levels as wel as inhibiting cel apoptosis.
