Objective:To determine urinary N-acetyl-beta-d-glucosaminidase (NAG) and products of fibrin degradation (FDP) in patients with lupus nephritis and to discuss its significance.Methods:We measured the levels of urinary NAG,FDP in 36 cases of patients with lupus nephritis and 20 cases in the control group using auto-biochemical-analyzer,colorimetry and latex coagulation test.Results:The levels of urinary NAG, FDP in patients with lupus nephritis with normal renal function were significantly higher than those in the control group.The levels of urinary NAG,FDP in patients with lupus nephritis with abnormal renal function were significantly higher than those normal ones.The levels of urinary NAG with lupus nephritis were significantly higher than those with negative FDP in the urine.Conclusion:The change of urinary NAG in the lupus nephritis patients suggests that the damage in renal tubular interstitum has taken place in LN patients when they are on the renal sufficiency stage.With the development of the coagulation in the glomeruli,the degree of renal tubular interstitum damage in LN also increases.

OBJECTIVE:To study the protective effect of Mogrosides on experimental liver injury in mice. METHODS: Acute hepatic injury model was induced by CCl4 in mice, and the immunological hepatic injury model was induced in mice by bacillus calmette-guerin (BCG) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The activities of ALT and AST in serum, SOD activity in liver tissue and content of MDA in the liver tissue were investigated; and the histological changes of liver were observed. RESULTS: Mogroside could decrease the serum activities of ALT and AST in mice with acute hepatic injury or immunological hepatic injury, increase the activity of SOD but decrease MDA content in liver tissue of mice with immunological hepatic injury, and it could lessen the histological changes of liver. CONCLUSION: Mogroside showed protective effect on mice with acute hepatic injury or immunological hepatic injury. The mechanism might be attributed to its action against lipid peroxidation.

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and therapy of Crohn's disease(CD).Methods The clinical data of 30 cases of pathologically proven CD from 1992 to 2005 were analyzed,26 cases were followed up.Results Among the 30 patients with CD,13(43.3%)diagmosed by endoscopy and biopsy.and17 cases(57.7%)were diagnosed by operation and pathology Before operation,6 cases were diagnosed as acute abdomen,4 cases as ileus,3 cases as massive hemorrhage of gastrointestinal tract,2 cases as colorectal cancer,1 case as intestinal fistula and 1 case as head mass of pancreas.Of the 26 cases followed up cases,15 cases accepted operation with 5 cases of recurrence;21 cases have taken drugs,and the total effective rate was 73.1%.Conclusions CD is a chronic relapsing disease and is difficult to diagnose.The majority of patients undergo operation due to misdiagnosis or complications.CD is prone to relapse postoperatively,quality of life is poor,and one must heighten awareness of these patients,make early diagnosis,directed therapy,and intensify follow up.

AIM: To explore the treatment method and timing for neonatal dacryocystitis in different month-old children.
●METHODS: A total of 180 children ( 207 eyes ) with dacryocystitis who were admitted to our hospital between Jan. 2010 and Dec. 2014 were selected as the study subjects. According to months of age, they were divided into <3 months old group (n=41, 45 eyes), 3-6 months old group (n=75, 91 eyes) and 6-12 months old group (n=64, 71 eyes). Three groups were respectively treated with lacrimal massage combined with antibiotics, lacrimal duct washing with pressure and lacrimal duct probing, etc. The curative effect was compared between different months old children with dacryocystitis. The cure rate was statistically analyzed. The mean times of treatment was recorded and the best time for treatment was summarized.
●RESULTS:1) Hasner valvular obstruction was common in different months old children, and the proportion was higher than that of children with nasolacrimal duct bony part obstruction (P<0. 05). The proportion of children with nasolacrimal duct bony part obstruction in 6 - 12 months old group was higher than that in <3 months old group and that in 3-6 months old group (P < 0. 05). The proportion of children with Hasner valvular obstruction was lower than that in<3 months old group and that in 3-6 months old group (P<0. 05); 2) the number of cured eyes in < 3 months old group was higher than that in 3-6 months old group and that in 6-12 months old group ( P<0. 05), and the number of cures eyes in 3-6 months old group was higher than that in 6-12 months old group ( P<0. 05);3) the effective rates of lacrimal duct washing with pressure in <3 months old group and 6-12 months old group were similar, lower than that in 3-6 months old group (P<0. 05); 4) the effective rates of lacrimal duct probing in the three group were higher than 90% ( P>0. 05);5) the times of treatment in 3-6 months old group and 6-12 months old group was more than that in <3 months old group (P<0. 05), and that in 6-12 months old group was more than that in 3-6 months old group ( P <0. 05).
● CONCLUSION: For < 3 months old children with dacryocystitis, conservative treatment like lacrimal massage should be preferred. For children without effect, lacrimal duct washing with pressure and lacrimal duct probing should be given; For 3-6 months old children, lacrimal duct washing with pressure is preferred, and for 6 - 12 months old children, lacrimal duct probing is recommended.

Objective: To investigate the effect of processing Radix et Rhizoma Rhei with Salt on its anthraquinones component, so then the mechanism of processing with salt can be pointed out. Methods: Anthraquinones contents of crude Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, its processed products with dilute brine and strong brine were determined by spectrophotometry respectively. Results: There were no significant differences in anthraquinones contents among three kinds of Radix et Rhizoma Rhei. Conclusion: The processing of Radix et Rhizoma Rhei with salt doesn't affect its anthraquinones content, which suggests that the mechanism of processing with salt be worthy of discussing.

The reproductive toxicity of environmental estrogens(EEs)has become an extensively studied subject in environmental science and reproductive medicine nowadays.Many epidemiology data and experimental evidences indicated that EEs may significantly cause the disorders of male sex differentiation such as microphallus,hypospadia,cryptorchidism and masculinization behavior disorder and so on.The mechanism includes estrogenic activity,anti-androgenic activity as well as other feedback regulation and signal transmission which influence hormones metabolism.

Objective To study the nutritional evaluation and clinical effects of perioperative enteral nutrition (EN) versus parenteral nutrition support (PN) in elderly patients undergoing gastrectomy for gastric carcinoma.The safety,feasibility and superiority were also compared between EN and PN.Methods Totally 50 cases (aged 65 years and over) undergoing gastrectomy for gastric carcinoma in Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery of Beijing Hospital were recruited and divided randomly into two groups of EN and PN (25 cases for each).NRS2002 nutritional assessment scoring system was used to evaluate the patients.The patients in EN group were given Rui Su at 2 d before surgery,then Wei wo,Bai pu li and Rui su were sequentially given from 12 h after the surgery.The patients in PN group were received total parenteral nutrition (TPN) via central venous for 7 days.Results The average absolute lymphocytes[(1.22±0.23) ×109/L and (1.31±0.27) ×109/L vs.(1.02±0.21) × 109/ L and (1.14 ± 0.23 × 10)9/L],pre-albumin[(151.442± 48.15) mg/ L and (167.38± 46.23) mg/ L vs.(115.22 ± 47.34) mg/L and (131.27 ± 43.58) mg/L] and transferring [(1.71±0.33)g /L and (1.83±0.31)g/L vs.(1.50±0.32)g/L and (1.65±0.32)g/L,all P＜0.05] levels after surgery of 3 d and 7 d in EN group were higher than those of PN group (P＜0.05).The CRP levels at 3 d and 7 d after surgery were increased in PN group compared with EN group [(63.71±35.26)mg/L and (41.58 ± 22.55)mg/L vs.(54.26±29.13)mg/L and (18.12 ±14.35)mg/L,P＜0.05].The blood sugar and insulin levels of EN group at 3 d and 7 d after surgery were (5.93±1.12) mmol/L and (5.61± 1.03)mmol/L,(6.72±5.14) U/L and (6.21±2.63) U/L,which were decreased compared to PN group (8.31 ± 2.62) mmol/L and (8.85 ± 2.92) mmol/L,(12.81±7.26) U/L and (15.21±8.24) U/L (P＜0.05).ALT in the PN group was (38.43±18.37) U/L at 7 d after surgery,higher than EN group (23.91± 14.82) U/L(P＜0.05).The perioperative average costs of EN group was (2714.5± 1391.7) yuan,lower than PN group (5041.6± 3007.7) yuan (P＜0.05).For the patients complicated with delayed gastric emptying after surgery,nutrition cost reduction was more evident.There were no significant difference between the two groups of patients in the liver and kidney function changes and postoperative complications.Conclusions It is safe and feasible for elderly gastric cancer patients with perioperative EN sequential therapy in view of its reduced stress response of surgical trauma and insulin resistance,improvement of hyperglycemia,reduction of medical costs compared with PN for elderly gastric cancer patients.

OBJECTIVE Cervical cancer is the third most malignant tumor in the world. Farnesoid X receptor (FXR) is a member of nuclear receptor superfamily. It is highly expressed in liver, kidney and small intestine, while it showed low expression level in other tissues. It not only plays an important role in the metabolism of bile acids and sugars, but also in the production of chronic inflammation in the early stage of cancer, the proliferation and migration of tumor. Compared with the normal tissue, the expression of FXR in most tumor tissues decreased. But there is no correlation between cervical cancer and FXR. So we aimed to find out the relationship between FXR and cervical cancer. METHODS A clinical study using qPCR, western blot and immunohistochemistry detected the expression of FXR in tumor tissues and normal tissues of clinical patients. FXR was activated by agonists or over-expressed by lentivirus. MTT, clone formation and flow cytometry were used to detect the relationship between FXR and proliferation of cervical cell lines. Tumor growth ability of FXR was detected by nude mice tumorigenicity. The interaction between FXR and CDKN2A-p14ARF-MDM2-p53 pathway was detected by qPCR, Western blot and immunohistochemistry. RESULTS FXR was decreased in cancer tissues compared to normal control. Activation of FXR by agonist or constitutively- over- expression of FXR inhibited cervical cell proliferation. Over- expressed FXR attenuated Caski, Hela and Siha xenograft tumor growth in nude mice compared with control. Over-expression of FXR caused G1 cell-cycle arresting and up-regulated CDKN2A-p14ARF-MDM2-p53 pathway. CONCLUSION FXR inhibits cervical cancer cell proliferation and cervical tumorigenicity which is related to CDKN2A-p14ARF-MDM2-p53 pathway. Activation or overexpression of FXR may be a potential target for the treatment of cervical cancer.

Objective:To evaluate the osteogenic activities of Bio-oss after combining with fibrin glue in reconstruction of canine mandibular defects.Methods:The second and fourth premolar teeth and the second molar teeth were extracted bilaterally, in 9 hibrid canines,resulting in 6 bone defects(1 cm?1 cm)in each canine.Bio-oss,Bio-oss+FG and FG were implanted into the bone defects of the second,fourth premolar teeth and the second molar teeth,respectively.Canines were executed in group of 3 after 4,8,and 12 weeks to observe the healing of soft tissues.The bone density was assessed by X-ray,the property of Bio-oss were observed via gross specimen,and the morphology of the newly-formed bone was observed by tissue sections.The proportion of newly-formed bone was obtained by computer image analysis(SAS software,analysis of variance).Results:StageⅠhealing of soft tissues was achieved in all animals.The bone densities were not significantly different between Bio-oss+FG and Bio-oss groups.The bone in FG group had transparent area.We also found that the bone in Bio-oss+FG group was closely combined and there were sccatered Bio-oss dusts in the soft tissues of the Bio-oss group.The newly-formed bone in the FG group was only found in the border between the defects and FG.The proportion of newly-formed bone was less in the Bio-oss+ FG group than in the Bio-oss group at 4,8,and 12 weeks after extraction(P
