1.Subcellular localization of serotonin 2 A receptor in dorsal hippocampal CA1 area and its effect on neuronal firing

Aim To examine subcellular localization of serotonin 5-HT2A receptor (5-HT2AR) and glutamate NMDA receptor in dorsal hippocampal CA1 area ( dCA1 ) and further explore the effect of systemic acti-vation of 5-HT2A R on hippocampal neuronal firing rate. Methods The distribution of 5-HT2A R and NMDA re-ceptor in the dCA1 region was detected with immune e-lectron microscopy after embedding. The effect of acti-vation of 5-HT2A R on the principal neuron and inter-neuron firing rates was examined with multichannel re-cording. Results 5-HT2A R immunoreactivity was ob-served in the dCA1 neurons, including rough endoplas-mic reticula and mitochondria, and the 5-HT2A R and glutamate NMDA receptors were colocalized in the syn-aptic membrane, vesicle and neurofilament of the hipp-ocampal neuron. 5-HT2A R activation increased princi-pal neuronal firing rate and the interneuronal firing rate was not changed. Conclusion The 5-HT2A R and NM-DA receptor are colocalized in dCA1 neurons, and acti-vation of 5-HT2A R increases hippocampal principal neuronal firing rate.
2.Application of self-expanding stent and seperable detachable coil for interventional therapy in patients with wide-necked intracranial aneurysm

Objective To explore the application of self-expanding stent and seperable detachable coil for interventional therapy in patients with wide-necked intracranial aneurysm.Methods 32 patients with wide-necked intracranial aneurysm received the interventional therapy by self-expanding stent and seperable detachable coil.After operation,the situation of the aneurysm occluded were observed by DSA immediately and followed up.Results The stents were successfully deployed in the 32 patients.The seperable detachable coils were occluded in the aneurysms in 29 cases.After operation immediately,the DSA showed that the aneurysms in 18 cases were completely occluded by seperable detachable coils,7 cases were 95% occluded,4 cases were 90% occluded.In the other 3 cases,the aneurysms were too small to be filled by seperable detachable coil,the stents were used only.All the parent arteries were no stenosis.18 h after operation,1 case died from multiple hemorrhage caused by thrombasthenia.Follow-up from 3 months to 1 year,DSA re-examination in 21 cases.Compared with the image immediately after operation,the imagings of DSA were no change in 12 cases,residual necks were disappeared in 5 cases and increased in 1 case.In the 3 cases which stents used only,the aneurysms were no development completely in the 2 cases and decreased in 1 case.6~18 months followed up in 26 cases,the rebleeding and cerebral infarction were no occurred.Conclusions The self-expanding stent is very flexible,secure,and effective.It can good support for the wide-necked aneurysms to be occluded by seperable detachable coils and effective promoting the small aneurysms healing.
4.Clinical analysis of lymphadenectomy in patients with esophageal carcinoma underwent single left thoracal incision and cervico-right thoracic-abdominal triple incision

Objective To explore the extent of lymphadenectomy by comparing the single left thoracotomy and cervico-right thoracic-abdominal triple incision during esophageal carcinoma radial surgery.Methods The clinical data of 95 patients with thoracic esophageal carcinoma underwent esophagectomy plus lymphadenectomy were studied.They were divided into two groups,left thoracotomy group(62 cases)and triple incision group(33 cases).The rates of lymph node metastasis and postoperative complications were analyzed statistically.Results A total of 1322 lymph nodes were dissected with an average of 13.9 lymph nodes in each case.The rates of lymph node metastasis were 45.3 %(43/95)of all patients,40.3 % of left thoracotomy and 54.5 % of triple incision.The rates of lymph node metastasis in the neck for patients with upper or middle thoracic esophageal carcinoma were 25.0 %(2/8)and 40.0 %(4/10).The rate of abdominal lymph node metastasis was 53.8 %(7/13)in lower thoracic carcinoma.The depth of tumor invasion (r =0.315,P =0.007)and tumor differentiation(r =0.239,P =0.017)were correlated to lymph node metastasis.Patients with tumor length >2 cm had higher rates of lymph node metastasis(x2 =34.2,P < 0.001).The postoperative complication rates of left thoracotomy and triple incision were 25.8 %(16/62)and 4.2 % (8/33).The mortalities rates of left thoracotomy and triple incision were 1.6 %(1/62)and 3.0 %(1/33).There was no significant difference in postoperative complication rates(x2 =0.017,P =0.869)and mortalities rates(x2 =0.047,P =0.651)between the two groups.Conclusion Tumor invasion,differentiation and length should be incorporated in the evaluation of lymph node status.Patients with upper and middle thoracic esophageal carcinoma should receive cervico-right thoracic-abdominal triple incision.Particular attention should be given to the resection of abdominal lymph nodes in patients with lower thoracic esophageal carcinoma.
5.Development of sandplay production analysis evaluation matrix for children with tic disorders

Objective To develop a sandplay analysis evaluation matrix for children with tic disor?ders. Methods 113 children were chosen as the study subjects . Based on the grounded theory,the open coding,correlated coding and core coding were carried out on coding elements for sandplay process to gain the third?level,second?level and first?level evaluation codes. The reliability and validity of the codes were tested.Results The sandplay analysis evaluation matrix for children with tic disorders was established inclu?ding 48 third?level,17 second?level and 3 first?level evaluation codes. The codes were proved to be reliable and valid through the comparison and conditional coding with query. Conclusion The sandplay analysis e?valuation matrix for children with tic disorders,which is established based on the grounded theory,is reliable and operable. It can be used as a tool to assess the psychological or behavioral problems of children with tic disorders dynamically.

Objective To study effects of fluid resuscitation on thoracoabdominal injury combined with hemorrhagic traumatic shock.Method A total of 98 patients,who were treated in Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University from November 2004 to December 2006,were retrospectively analyzed.The patients were diagnozed according to Surgery(fifth edition).Patients were divided into delayed fluid resuscitation group(n= 51)and immediate fluid resuscitation group(n=47).Patients in delayed fluid resuscitation group were given with balanced salt solution for the body to maintain basic requirements.Patients in immediate fluid resuscitation group were rapidly administered with a lot of isotonic crystaUoid and(or)colloid solution after admission. To study the effects of alkaloids from Coptidis Rhizoma on low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) mRNA expression and antihyperlipedemic levels. The LDLR mRNA expression were detected by real time fluorescence quantitative PCR, and the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL-c) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) in serum were measured at the first and last examination. The results show that, after the drug treatment, compared with the model group, each drug group showed a lipid-lowering effect. Especially, coptisine, palmatine, jatrorrhinze were significantly reduced TC, TG, LDL-c (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), and increased HDL-c (P < 0.01). In addition, they also increased mRNA expression of the LDLR in liver and HepG2 cells. The results showed that alkaloids from Coptidis Rhizoma can regulate lipid metabolism disorder, and coptisine have the best lipid-lowering effect.

8.Effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation on the cognitive ability of patients with cognitive impairment after cerebral venous thrombosis

Objective To explore any effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on the cognitive ability of patients suffering from cognitive impairment after cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT).Methods Forty-three CVT patients with cognitive impairment were recruited and randomly assigned into an rTMS group (n =23) or a control group (n=20).Both groups received routine drug therapy and cognitive function training,while the rTMS group was additionally given rTMS.The treatment lasted 4 weeks.The Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA),the Hamilton depression scale (HAMD),the modified auditory Barthel Index (MBI) and event-related potential P300 were used to test both groups before and after the treatment.Results After the treatment the average MoCA and MBI scores of both groups had increased significantly,while their average HAMD scores had decreased significantly compared to before the treatment.For both groups,the P300 latency had shortened significantly and the amplitude increased significantly after the treatment.The improvement in all of these indicators was significantly greater in the rTMS group than in the control group.Conclusion Supplementing drug therapy with rTMS can significantly improve the cognitive ability of CVT patients and is worth applying in clinical practice.
9.ANATOMIC STUDY OF MAXIMUM INTENSITY PROJECTION IN MRI FOR MEMBRANOUS LABYRINTH AND INTERNALAUDITORY MEATUS IN 15 CHINESE ADULTS

Objective The three-dimensional reconstructed images of maximum intensity projection (MIP) for membranous labyrinth and internal auditory meatus in Chinese adults were observed and measured in order to provide anatomic basis for otolosurgery and nerosurgery. Methods Thirty inner ears of 15 volunteers were scanned by using a circular temporal coil and three-dimension fast spin echo sequence with a 1^5T GE-signal MRI scanner. All original images were transferred to MRI workstation and all the structures of inner ear were reconstructed, rotated from various angles and measured by using maximum intensity projection. All the data were analyzed using SPSS 10.0 software. Results Anatomic structures of membranous labyrinth and internal auditory meatus were well demonstrated in three-dimensional reconstructed images of MIP in all volunteers. All three semicircular ducts, utricle, saccule, cochlear duct and internal auditory meatus produced high intensity signal. The results of measurement were statistically in significant.Conclusion Three-dimensional reconstruction of MlP might document, lively, stereoscopically and directly, the minute structures of membranous labyrinth and internal auditory meatus. We provide the basic data for the establishment of the MRI measurement criterion of inner ear.
10.Pharmacological activation of serotonin 5-HT2C receptor ameliorates naloxone-precipitated withdrawal in morphine-dependent mice

Aim To explore the effect of pharmacolog-ical activation of serotonin 5-HT2C receptor (5-HT2C R) on naloxone-precipitated withdrawal in morphine-de-pendent mice. Method EthoVision Noldus video tracking system was used to record the effect of 5-HT2C R agonist WAY on locomotor activities and behavioral performances in mice.Results Selective 5-HT2C R ag-onist WAY (0.5,0.75 or 1 .0 mg·kg -1 ,i.p.)a-lone did not alter the locomotor activities as determined by distance traveled and velocity (all P values >0.05).Chronic morphine treatment induced depend-ence in mice as demonstrated by increases in distance traveled,velocity and jumping behavior.WAY (0.5, 0.75 or 1 .0 mg·kg -1 ,i.p.)and clonidine (0.2 mg ·kg -1 ,i.p.)significantly ameliorated naloxone-pre-cipitated withdrawal symptoms,including burrowing, jumping,body grooming,rearing,“wet dog”shakes, head shakes,face grooming,penile grooming,scratch (all P values <0.05).Conclusion Pharmacological activation of 5-HT2C R ameliorates naloxone-precipitated withdrawal symptoms in morphine-dependent mice.5-HT2C R may be a novel target to develop therapeutic ap-proach against morphine physical dependence,craving and relapsing.
