Objective To introduce a poisoning accident caused by clearing up the disuced bloat pool of green plums. Methods In a certain area in Fujian happened a poisoning accident in which many people poisoned. The site of monitoring was carried out immediately. Results The concentrations of hydrocyanic acid, acetonitrile, methane, and carbon dioxide were very high in the air of the pool. Conclusion The main cause of the poisoning was that the cyanogenic glycosides contained in the nucleolus of the green plums. After broken down, the cyanide was released, and then the cyanide synergistic effect with the asphyxiating gas such as methane and carbon dioxide developed also. Treated the sediment and waste water with bleaching powder and lime, cyanide had been eliminated efficiently.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To measure the effect of disinfection on dimension stability of four high polymer impression materials which were separately immersed in 20 ml/L glutaraldehyde solution. Methods:Fifteen plaster replication models of four high polymer impression materials(Impregum Penta polyether, Express-Putty silicone, Silagum-Putty silicone, GC EXAFINE silicone) were made on the same metal master cast respectively. Vertical and horizontal dimensions between landmarks on the masters and plaster casts were measured with an optical microscope,one-way ANOVA was used to compare the measurements among the materials. Results:The difference between the masters and Casts in horizontal distances measured on Express-Putty silicone impression material produced models was longer than those on other high polymer impression materials produced ones after disinfection for 20 minutes and beyond clinical requirement. Compared with metal master cast, the difference became significant when these four silicone impression materials were disinfected for 40 minutes. Conclusion: Among the four kinds of impression materials, the Express-Putty silicone material is relatively the most accurate one after disinfection for 20 minutes.

Journal of Environment and Health 2000;17(6):336-337
[Objective] To explore the effects of mycocide and insecticide on indoor air quality in archives.[Methocls] The levels of camphor, formaldehyde and 2, 2-dichlorovinyldimethyl phosphate (DDVP) in indoor airwere determined in 17 archives. [Results] The average concentration of camphor in indoor air was 1.00mg/L inarchives applying synthetic camphor, 0.74 mg/m3 in archives applying commercialized mycocide (the main compo-nents were synthetic camphor and pyrethrin ), and 0.14 mg/m3, applying natural camphor. The concentrations offormaldehyde reached 0.297 mg/m3 at the 10th day after the co-fumigation by formaldehyde and DDVP. At thesametime, DDVP was not found in indoor air of archives.[Conclusion]The pollution of formaldehyde and camphorin indoor air of archives should be paid more attention to.
