Objective To evaluate transoropharyngeal atlantoaxial reduction plate system (TARP) and its preliminary clinical effect. Methods The TARP system was designed to consist of a butterfly titanium alloy plate, self-locking screws, atlantoaxial reductor and other surgical instruments. The system was applied clinically to five irreducible atlantoaxial dislocations as a result of injury or congenital disorders. During the operation, the reduction was achieved through the combination of the plate and the atlantoaxial reductor after the transoropharyngeal brisement and decompression. Bone graft was implanted between the lateral atlantoaxial joints. Results The reduction mechanism of the TARP system was well designed. Its clinical application to five cases of irreducible atlantoaxial dislocation proved that TARP had the function of instant reduction and that the operation was feasible and had laudable effect. Conclusion TARP design is a novel strategy. Its operative procedure is simple and feasible. Both the instant reduction and stable fixation can be obtained during the operation. TARP is creative and has excellent prospect.

Objective To study the characteristic cluster structure of good-quality natural drinking water. Methods The coupling 17 O NMR(nuclear magnetic resonance)FWHM(full width half maximum)was selected as the index to weigh the rel-ative average size of water cluster in liquid water. The 17 O NMR FWHM of water samples(nature water and artificial water)were measured by ARX400NMR spectroscopy. Results 17 O NMR FWHMs of21representative water samples were in the range of53-145Hz.Conclusion 17 O NMR FWHM of good-quality natural drinking water mainly lay from70to90Hz.

The theoretical basis, significance and feasibility of tutor system for undergraduates in medical informa-tion education were studied. It was considered that the tutor system for undergraduates is an effective means for training medical information talents as it can help the undergraduates to know what role they will play in itheir future po-sition and the professional knowledge they should master, ncrease their study interests and stimulate their study motives by providing the professional skill education service in an order form. The management model of tutor system for under-graduates was put forward according to the significant features of undergraduate course education and cross subjects, the various requirements of professional skills, and the low study motives in domestic medical information education. The problems to which attention should be paid in implementing the tutor system for undergraduates were elaborated .

Objective To determine the relationship between excess iodine and the thyroid diseases. Methods The effects of excess iodine on rat thyroid and human thyroid cell were observed . Results All the rats in the experimmental group had diffuse colloidal goiter. With the increase of iodine levels, the relative and absolute weight of the goiter increased and revealed atypical abnormal hyperplasia as compared with the control group. The heights of thyroid follicular epithelial cells were decreased and the areas of thyroid follicular spaces were enlarged(p

Lack of teachers' participating enthusiasm is the main problem that the institutions of teaching and faculty development face during the promoting process of faculty development projects. In this study, service marketing triangle theory was applied to the project promotion of the institutions of teaching and faculty development, the service marketing triangle theory for the project promotion of the center for teaching and faculty development was established. Through the three aspects of outside marketing, internal marketing and interaction marketing, the promotion strategies of faculty development projects were proposed. The application of these strategies in promoting the faculty development projects will enhance the teachers' initiative and enthusiasm to participate in service projects, so as to push faculty development.

Objective To establish a novel PCR method that can differentiate the two biotype of Mycoplasma urealytium rapidly based on the disparities of parC gene sequences for clinical routine examination. Methods Design two pairs of specific primers and probes for the targeted gene according to the differences of the parC gene sequences from 14 standard serotypes. The specificity of this amplification was verified by detecting two Mycoplasma urealyticum standard strains including serovar1 and serovar4,50 clinical isolated strains ( 12 are Uu strains and 38 are Up strains) and 7 common bacterias from vagina.Collected 70 swab specimens from patients of Sexually Transmit Department with urogenital inflammation symptom and 71 swab specimens from the gynecology health examination population. All those specimens were detected by culture and our method respectively. The sensitivity of this method was evaluated by comparing with the culture.Differences of the infection rate and distribution of biotypes between different populations were analyzed using statistical software. Results Standard strains of Mycoplasma urealyticum and clinical isolates can be typed into two species by the PCR method without nonspecific amplification. The sensitivity of PCR method is much higher than that of culture ( P<0.05).The infection rates of Uu,Up and the mixing were 8.57%,61.40%,24.30% respectively for the patients with vaginitis. However,it was 8.80%,67.60%,8.45% respectively for the gynecology health examination population. There is a significant difference of the total infection rate between the two population(P<0.05).It showed no significant difference with the distribution of the two types of simple infection in the two groups ( P>0.05).But the rate of mixing infection is much higher in the patients with vaginitis ( P<0.05 ).Conclusion The pathology of Mycoplasma urealyticum may be related to the mixed infection of different biotypes.

Objective To explore the relationship of different body mass index, waist circumference and serum lipid levels with essential hypertension among residents of Ningbo. And to explore the predictive value of BMI and WC (Waist Cir-cumference) for hypertension. Methods Adopting cluster sampling, 2 303 people (1 081 cases of hypertension and 1 222 people with normal blood pressure) were collected in the four townships of Ningbo City. We conducted questionnaires, physi-cal examination and blood lipid testing for all of subjects. WC group:WC≥85 cm in male or WC≥80 cm in female is central obesity, and the others are normal. BMI groups:BMI≥24 kg/m2 is overweight, and BMI<24 kg/m2 is normal. The relationship of BMI, WC and serum lipid levels with hypertension was analyzed by multivariate unconditional logistic regression model. The predictive value of BMI and WC for hypertension was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results WC, BMI, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in hypertension group were higher than those in control group (P<0.01). And WC, BMI, TG, LDL-C is the impact factor for hypertension. The overweight rate and central obesity rate in hypertension group were higher than control group (P<0.01). TG and LDL-C level abnormality, overweight and central obesity were the risk factors of hypertension. As a risk factor of hypertension, over-weight with central obesity group is higher than overweight with normal waistline group, simple central obesity group and nor-mal group. In the area under the ROC curve, BMI is higher than WC in both male and female population. Conclusion WC, BMI, TG and LDL-C abnormalities were risk factors for hypertension, and BMI was a better predictive factor for hyper-tension than WC.
