1.ONTOGENETIC STUDIES OF GASTRIN CELLS AND SOMATOSTATIN CELLS IN THE HUMAN FETAL GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
Ontogenesis of gastrin cells (G cells) and somatostatin cells (D cells) in the gastrointestinal tract was studied by PAP and indirect immunofluorescence method in sixty human fetuses aged 8-38 weeks of gestation. The appearance of D cells and G cells was observed as early as 8-9 weeks of gestation. These cells were not seen in the submucosa and the tunica muscularis except the epithelium of gut. After 12 weeks of gestation, D cells can be found in the mucosa of the whole gut, whereas G cells only in the mucosa of the antrum and small intestine. The distribution, number and the ratio of G cells to D cells were also examined. In addition, we have observed that G cells in the antral mucosa often possessed processes which were considered to have paracrine function. The G cells and D cells were open-type endocrine cells in the human fetal gut except the D cells in the fundic mucosa. The possible function of G cells and D cells in the development of gut was discussed. The ratio of the two cell types in adult human antrum and upper duodenum has also been compared with that of fetus.

Objective To study the method of combined laparoscopy and endoscopy ( duodenosco-py and choledochoscopy) in the treatment of Csendes's II, III Mirizzi Syndrome. Methods Twenty one patients with Mirizzi Syndrome were admitted for the procedures. These patients received endoscopic nasobiliary drainage first, followed by laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy plus common bile duct(CBD) exploration. Results Satisfactory out come was realized except conversion to open surgery occurred in 2 for failure in repairing due to the extensive adhesions of Calot's triangle and anatomical abnormalities of cystic duct. In the course of operation ,removal of incarcerated stones in neck of gallbladder was performed in 14 cases, extraction of CBD stones by intraoperative choledochoscopy in 5 cases, and all cases received primary suture on the defect of CBD. There was neither residual stones left nor serious after - effect including biliary fistula and he-mobilia. Mean postoperative stay was 9.4 days. Follow - up observations on 19 patients did not show recurrence of stones, nor bile duct stricture during 18-41 months. Conclusion The combined procedures is feasible and safe alternative but can be technically demanding. This management is able to substitute some conventional procedure of T - tube insertion, however, primary suture on the defect bile duct is especially difficult.

Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(08):-
Objective: To observe the protective effect of ligustrazine on myocardial ischemia rat induced by isoproterenol. Methods : The model of myocardial ischemia was induced by subtcuaneous injection of isoproterenol (ISP, 5mg?kg -1 ) into rats and repeated the same dose 24 hours later. The activities of Ca 2+ -ATPase、Ca 2+ -Mg 2+ -ATPase and the contents of Ca 2+ in the myocardial mitochondria were observed, respectively. The changes of protein expression of bcl-2 and bax genes were detected by immunohistochemical staining. Results : In the ligustrazine treated group, as compared with those of the model, the activities of Ca 2+ -ATPase、Ca 2+ -Mg 2+ -ATPase in the myocardial mitochondria increased significantly( P 0.05). Conclusion : Ligustrazine possesses protective effects against myocardial ischemia injury via increasing the activities of Ca 2+ -ATPase、Ca 2+ -Mg 2+ -ATPase in the myocardial mitochondria and influencing the expression of bcl-2.

OBJECTIVE: With the prolongation of life span, more and more people care their health. In this paper we summarized the studies about correlative factors of mandible osteoporosis so as to investigate the cause of osteoporosis and how to inhibit or postpone the occurrence of mandible osteoporosis and improve people's quality of life.DATA SOURCES: We searched Qsinghua Tongfang Database for papers about mandible osteoporosis published between January 1991 and May 2005 with the key words of "osteoporosis, mandible bone, alveolar bone"in Chinese. Meanwhile, related English literatures were also searched in Medline between January 1975 and May 2005 with the same key words.STUDY SELECTION: The literatures included all the related papers of correlative factors of mandible osteoporosis. Inclusive criteria were: the study types were randomized controlled trials, drug stress test and clinical drug effect test; the samples were both human and animals. Exclusive criteria: Reviews and literatures without controls were excluded.DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 182 literatures related to the correlative factors of mandible osteoporosis were collected, and 36 were accorded with the inclusive criteria. The excluded were 146 papers of repeated drug effect study.DATA SYNTHESIS: A total of 36 papers including 5 321 human and 152 animals analyzed the data of correlative factors of mandible osteoporosis in age, sex, hormones, biting force, physical training and living habit, etc., respectively, which included 6 interfere-test papers of ovariactomized rats.CONCLUSION: It is concluded that mandible osteoporosis can result in a part of bone mine loss, which is related to age, sex, hormones, biting force, physical exercise and living habits, and so on.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
The specific anti-rat LH in the peroxidase anti-peroxidase (PAP) immunohistochemical method was used to demonstrate the pituitary gonadotropic cells in the pregnant rats, and then the morphometric analysis method was used to study the change of the number, size and nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio parameters of the gonadotropic cells in pregnant rats after being injected by a high dose of LHRH-A.It was observed that on 24h after injection the number of gonadotropic cells decreased, their size became smaller and their nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio larger: the cell number per mm~3 pituitary tissue was from (4.25?0.21)?10~4 to (2.49?0.14)?10~4; the cell size from 1295?35?m~3 to 895?31?m~3; the nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio from 0.144?0.005 to 0.229?0.010. On 48h after injection these changes were in the process of recovery. On 168h after injection all parameters were recovered. Our observations suggest that after being injected by a high dose of LHRH-A the change of gonadotropic cells in pregnant rats results from the exogenous high dose of LHRH-A which has stimulated gonadotropic cells to release a great amount of LH. It is believed, however, that the changes of gonadotropic cells caused by a high dose of LHRH-A can still return to normal.
