Objective To explore the caregiver burden and psychological resilience of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy and the correlation between the two factors. Methods Totally 96 caregivers of dilated cardiomyopathy patients were selected by convenience sampling and investigated for their level of burden and psychological resilience with the Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI) and Conor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). The correlation between the two factors was then analyzed. Results The CBI score of these caregivers was (47.19±10.38), significantly higher than the average level nationwide (24.2±5.8). Their CD-RISC score was (63.07±13.18), lower than (65.4±13.9) of China's community population. There was apparent negative correlation between caregiver burden and psychological resilience (r=-0.62,P<0.01). The total score of resilience was negatively related to the burden of development constraint, social burden and emotional burden (r=-0.72, -0.65, -0.51;P<0.01).Conclusions The caregivers of dilated cardiomyopathy patients have a heavy burden, which is negatively correlated with their psychological resilience. Therefore, measures should be taken in clinical work to optimize the caregivers' psychological resilience, reduce their burden, and improve their quality of care.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2008;22(2):68-69
OBJECTIVE:
To analysis the causes and treatment for postnasal drip syndrome.
METHOD:
One hundred patients were tested by routine examination of otolaryngology, nasal endoscopy, fiberoptic laryngoscopy and nasal sinuses CT. Choice allergen test and nasopharynx X-ray were taken based on the symptoms and signs. Patients were treated accordingly for different causes, such as flushing the nasal cavity by herbal liquid, using glucocorticoid locally, taking medicine of improving the sticky film cilium function, immunotherapeutic or operation.
RESULT:
The causes included chronic rhinitis 22 cases (22%), chronic sinusitis or nasal polyp 31 cases (31%), allergic rhinitis 28 cases (28%), adenoid vegetation 16 cases (16%), chronic nasopharyngitis 3 cases (3%). All patients were treated accordingly and total cure rate was 82% after 6 months follow up.
CONCLUSION
The causes of postnasal drip syndrome are complicated. It is critical to check the cause and chose adaptable therapy for good result.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of sodium hyaluronate gel in preventing adhesion after prophylactic enterostomy. Methods:One hundred and twenty four patients from 6 hospitals were enrolled in this prospective multi-center randomized controlled trial. Patients were randomized into the study group ( n=59) or the control group ( n=65).All patients underwent prophylactic enterostomy. Patients of study group received odium hyaluronate gel for adhesion-prevention,while those in control group did not receive any adhesion-prevention treatment. The incidence of moderate to severe adhesion around the incision in the stoma area were evalutated during stoma reduction surgery. Results:The incidence of moderate to severe adhesion around the incision in the stoma area was 6.3% in the study group, the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05) compared to that of the control group (32.6%). Conclusion:Sodium hyaluronate gel can safely and effectively reduce the incidence of moderate and severe adhesions after abdominal surgery.
