Background:The efficacy of standard triple therapy for eradication of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)is decreasing in recent years, and bismuth-containing quadruple regimen becomes the first-line therapy for Hp infection. However, the application of bismuth has some limitations. Aims:To investigate the efficacy of proton pump inhibitor(PPI)-based standard triple therapy combined with teprenone for Hp eradication. Methods:A total of 155 Hp-infected chronic gastritis patients were enrolled from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2014 at Aerospace Center Hospital, and were randomly assigned into standard triple therapy group,bismuth-containing quadruple therapy group and teprenone-containing quadruple therapy group. Patients in standard triple therapy group were given rabeprazole sodium 20 mg + amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium 914 mg +clarithromycin 500 mg bid for 10 days. Patients in bismuth-containing quadruple therapy group were given standard triple therapy combined with bismuth potassium citrate 0. 6 g bid for 10 days. Patients in teprenone-containing quadruple therapy group were given standard triple therapy combined with teprenone 50 mg bid for 10 days. Symptoms of patients were evaluated before and after eradication therapy. Four weeks after the end of therapy,13 C-urea breath test( UBT)was reexamined to assess the status of Hp infection. Results:One hundred and fifty-two patients completed the treatment course. By ITT analysis, the eradication rates of standard triple therapy group,bismuth-containing quadruple therapy group and teprenone-containing quadruple therapy group were 69. 8%(37 / 53),86. 5% (45 / 52)and 88. 0% (44 / 50), respectively;by PP analysis, the eradication rates of the three groups were 71. 2%(37 / 52),88. 2% (45 / 51)and 89. 8%(44 / 49),respectively. Eradication rates analyzed by ITT and PP in bismuth-containing quadruple therapy group and teprenone-containing quadruple therapy group were significantly higher than those in standard triple therapy group(P <0. 05),but no statistically significant difference was found between these two groups( P > 0. 05). Relieving rates of abdominal pain, abdominal distention and belching in bismuth-containing quadruple therapy group and teprenone-containing quadruple therapy group were higher than those in standard triple therapy group, but statistically significant difference was only found in relieving of abdominal pain between teprenone-containing quadruple therapy group and standard triple therapy group(88. 9% vs. 70. 3% ,P < 0. 05). Adverse effects included transient and mild nausea, diarrhea and black stool, etc. Conclusions:Teprenone-containing quadruple regimen are effective for Hp eradication and symptoms relieving with no severe adverse effects, the efficacy is comparable with bismuth-containing quadruple regimen.

Objective To study the protective effects of aldioxa tablets on aspirin-induced gastric mucosal lesions in rat model. Methods Sixty healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: Ⅰ (injury group), Ⅱ (control group), Ⅲ (sucralfate protective group), Ⅳ (aluminium hydroxide protective group), and Ⅴ (aldioxa protective group). The three protective groups were treated with sucralfate, aluminium hydroxide and aldioxa tablets respectively before gastric mucosal injury was induced. Then the ulcer index (UI), epithelial damage scoring (EDS) were measured, and the pathological changes on histological sections and ultrastructural sections of gastric mucosa were assessed under microscope or electron microscope. Results The data of group Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ obtained were as follow: ulcer index: 42.13±6.22, 3.13±1.46, 8.63±3.48, 18.00±6.16, 8.00±3.17, respectively; epithelial damage scoring: 3.67±0.49, 1.25±0.45, 1.41±0.51, 2.42±0.79, 1.50±0.52, respectively. In comparison with injury group, the ulcer index and epithelial damage scoring of gastric mucosa in aldioxa protective group were significantly decreased. Conclusions The results revealed that aldioxa tablets had a significant protection effect on rats with acute gastric mucosal injury induced by aspirin.

Chinese Journal of Experimental and Clinical Virology 2007;21(4):316-318
OBJECTIVETo probe into the relation between acute respiratory infection and enterovirus (EV), season, age and sex of children in Beijing area.
METHODSNasopharyngeal secretion samples from 402 inpatient children with acute respiratory infection (ARI) were obtained, and EV RNA was detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The distribution of month, age and sex among the children positive for EV were analyzed.
RESULTSSeventy of the 402 cases were positive for EV RNA, the positive rate was 17.4 percent. The EV positive rate was 17.7 percent in children with lower respiratory tract infection, and 15.9 percent in children with upper respiratory tract infection. The EV positive rates were 0-36.1 percent in different months, which was the highest in the May (36.1 percent) and lower in December (4.3 percent). The positive rate of EV was 14.8 percent-21.9 percent in different age groups except for children 12 years of age and older, the positive rate was the lowest in the 4-6 years age group, and the highest in the 7 month-1 year age group. The EV infected boys and girls accounted for 16.2 percent and 19.7 percent of total numbers of boys and girls, respectively.
CONCLUSIONThe EV positive rate was higher in children with lower respiratory infection, which suggests that EV may play an important role in ARI of children. The EV positive rate was higher from late spring to autumn. EV infection was common in children under 12 years of age. The rate of EV infection was not significantly different between boys and girls.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus medicine in treating laryngopharyngeal reflux due to liver-qi stagnation and spleen deficiency. Methods: A total of 70 patients were divided into a control group and an observation group by the random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with conventional medications, and the observation group was treated with additional acupuncture therapy. The reflux symptom index (RSI) and reflux finding score (RFS) were evaluated. Esophageal motility indicators such as lower esophageal sphincter pressure (LESP) and upper esophageal sphincter pressure (UESP), and salivary pepsin level were measured. The clinical efficacy was also compared. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the RSI and RFS scores in both groups decreased significantly (all P<0.05), and the RSI and RFS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (both P<0.05). There were no significant changes in the LESP and UESP in the control group (both P>0.05), while LESP and UESP in the observation group increased significantly (both P<0.05), and higher than those in the control group (both P<0.05). The salivary pepsin levels in both groups decreased (both P<0.05), and the salivary pepsin level in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus medicine can improve symptoms and signs in patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux due to liver-qi stagnation and spleen deficiency, and regulate esophageal motility and salivary pepsin level. Its efficacy is more significant compared with medicine alone.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2004;33(5):433-436
OBJECTIVETo study the expression of the small subunit ribonucleotide reductase (R2) in gestational trophoblastic diseases (GTD) and to assess its prognostic value.
METHODSThe expression of R2 was detected with immunohistochemical method in 15 cases of normal villi, 38 cases of hydatidiform mole (HM), 42 cases of invasive moles (IM) and 18 cases of choriocarcinoma (CC).
RESULTSR2 expression in HM, IM and CC was significantly increased compared with that of normal villi (P=0.000). There were no significant differences in R2 protein expression among HM, IM and CC. Among 38 cases of HM, R2 expression in 8 cases with malignant transformation was significantly higher than in 30 cases of non-malignant transformation mole (P=0.02). Preoperative chemotherapy of gestational trophoblastic tumor including IM and CC did not influence the R2 expression. Compared with patients of stage I (WHO), the R2 protein in gestational trophoblastic tumor (GTT) patients of stage III or stage II was significantly increased (P=0.023 and P=0.038, respectively). The value of R2 in GTT patients with middle or high risk in WHO prognostic scoring system was higher than in the patients with low risk (P=0.018 and P=0.006, respectively).
CONCLUSIONR2 expression in GTD is increased, which may be associated with the hyperplasia of trophoblasts, malignant transformation of hydatidiform mole and drug resistance of trophoblastic tumor.
