Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(05):-
Objective To study the effect of heat treatment with sol-gel method on the surface of Ni-Cr alloy for PFM after Ti coating. Methods To establish the sol-gel method of Ti coating on the surface of Ni-Cr dental casting alloy for PFM(pre-treatment for the surface of Ni-Cr alloy, preparation of sol, coating, heat treatment) and to evaluate the color and fragmentation of 10 materials after heat treatment by ISO 10289. Results When kept at a higher condensation temperature and held for a longer time, the materials had less fragmentation.A higher agglutination temperature and a longer time made the materials look deep. When the condensation process was heat treated at(200 ℃) for 2 h and the agglutination process at 450 ℃ for 2 h,the thin film of Ti combined firmly with the surface of Ni-Cr alloy. Conclusion The procedure for heat treatment of Ti coating will affect the level of oxidation reaction on the surface of Ni-Cr alloy, and will change the level of combination between Ti and Ni-Cr alloy.
2.Effect of Mutans Streptococcus on Corrosion Resistance of Ni-Cr Alloy
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(10):-
Objective To study the effect of Mutans Streptococcus(S.Mutans) on the corrosion resistance of Ni-Cr alloy. Methods S.Mutans were isolated in TSB,and then 10~(5)10~6 CFU/mL of bacterial population was reached. The self-corrosion electrical current density and the corrosion electrical current potential of Ni-Cr alloy were found from polarization curves under the condition with or without media plus S.Mutans.The surface of Ni-Cr alloy after bacterial corrosion was examined with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) to find out different element contents.(Results)From polarization curves,it could be found that the self-corrosion electrical current density and the corrosion electrical current potential of Ni-Cr alloy without S.Mutans were 53.5 ?A/cm~(2)and-62 mV,and those with S.Mutans were 75.7 ?A/cm~(2)and-220 mV.Examination of XPS showed that besides Ni and Cr,the element of chlorine(Cl),sulphur(S),calcium(Ca) could be found on the surface of Ni-Cr alloy after bacterial corrosion.(Conclusion Because of) the metabolism of S.Mutans,an oxide film could be destroyed and a biofilm be formed on the surface of Ni-Cr alloy.Bacterial corrosion could lower the corrosion resistance performance of Ni-Cr alloy.

This article was aimed to study the mechanism of interaction between human serum albumin (HSA) and zinc ions, in order to provide the information on the secondary structure modification of HSA and the thermodynamics parameters using circular dichroism (CD) and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC). CD and ITC were applied in the study. The concentration of HSA were 0.025 mmol·L-1, 0.05 mmol·L-1, 0.1 mmol·L-1, and 0.2 mmol·L-1, respectively. The concentration of zinc ion was 5 mmol·L-1. The CD analysis revealed that the secondary structure modification of HSA differed depending on the concentration of HAS. And the content ofα-helix was inversely proportional to the concentration of HSA. When the concentration of HSA was 0.2 mmol·L-1, the content ofα-helix was special. A series of thermodynamics parameters including association constants (Kb), stoichiometry (N), entropy (ΔS) and enthalpy (ΔH) were investigated by ITC analysis. And two types of binding sites were observed when ZnSO4(mmol·L-1)?HSA (mmol·L-1)= 5?0.2. The secondary structure modification of HSA interacting with zinc ions depended on the concentration of HSA, a dramatic reduction ofα-helix was detected when the concentration of HSA attained 0.2 mmol·L-1. And the protein hydrophobicity reduction and peptide chains expansion were equally observed at this concentration. The ITC analysis also revealed endothermic and exothermic binding sites in the ZnSO4-HSA interaction when ZnSO4 (mmol·L-1)?HSA (mmol·L-1)= 5?0.2, indicating that the endothermic sites were specific but not preferential for zinc ions interactions. These results provided theoretical supports for the application of Zn2+ to open the endothermic sites of HSA.

BACKGROUND:Manual reduction for external fixation of distal radius fractures can achieve good outcomes.
OBJECTIVE:To carry out the bibliometric analysis on manual reduction for external fixation of distal radius fractures.
METHODS:Literatures concerning reduction for external fixation of distal radius fractures were retrieved in CNKI database from 2003 to 2012. The keywords were“external fixation;distal radius fractures”. Duplicate and irrelevant articles were eliminated, and a total of 408 articles were retrieved. A bibliometric analysis of these 408 articles was performed in terms of publishing time and number, subject categories, source journals, research institutions, times cited and download frequency.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Literatures concerning manual reduction for external fixation of distal radius fractures exhibit an upward trend in number. In 2012, there were 85 relevant articles. In the past 10 years, 18 relevant articles have been published in Chinese Journal of Traditional Medical Traumatology&Orthopedics, which is the most. There are not many relevant studies in various research units, only 1-7 articles published per unit, and five articles are funded.

The benefit achieved by concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCR) and sequential chemoradiotherapy (SCR) vs radiotherapy (RT) alone for patients with stage II-IVa nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) was compared. A total of 113 patients with stage II-IV a NPC were allotted into CCR group (n=38), SCR group (n=36) and RT alone group (n=39). All patients were irradiated with the same RT technique to ≥66 Gy at 2 Gy per fraction, conventional 5 fractions/week in all groups. The CCR group received concurrent chemotherapy of weekly cisplatin for 7 weeks, and the SCR group received neoadjuvant and (or) adjuvant chemotherapy. The results showed that the 3- and 5-year overall survival rate was significantly higher in CCR group than in RT alone group (92.16% vs 61.54%, 81.58% vs 51.28%, P<0.005). The median survival time was significantly longer in CCR group than in RT alone group (67.8 months vs 52.7 months, P<0.005). It was concluded that CCR could significantly improve overall survival rate, progression-free survival rate, and median survival time when compared with RT alone.

Objective To investigate the expression of complement regulatory proteins on placentas of pregnant C57BL/6 mice infected with Toxoplasma gondii in order to explore the molecular immunological mechanism for abnormal pregnancy induced by T. gondii infection. Methods Twenty-four pregnant C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into two groups equally. The infection group was intraperitoneally injected with 200 of living T, gondii RH strain tachyzoites on the 8th day of gestation, and the normal group of mice was injected with physiological saline. All mice were killed on day 14 after gestation and placentas were collected. The expression levels of Crry, GPI-DAF and CD59a mRNA were analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR, and the positive rates of Crry and GPI-DAF were measured with flow cytometry. Results The died fetus rates of infected group and control were 80. 95% and 4. 41% , respectively. The infected group was significantly higher than of that the control group (P<0.01). The expression levels of Crry, GPT-DAF and CD59a mRNA in the infected and control group were 0.786 ±0. 199, 0.594 ±0.096, 0.880 ±0. 179 and 0.550 ±0.077, 0.221 ±0.074, 0.591 ± 0.075 , respectively, and the difference of three kind of complement regulation proteins between two groups was all significant (P<0.01). The positive percentages of Crry and GPI-DAF cells of infected and control group were (10. 03 ± 2. 11) % , (2.95 ±1.04)% and (3. 15 ± 1. 32) % , (0. 66 ±0. 26) % , respectively, and the difference of the two kind complement regulation proteins between two groups was also significant ( P < 0. 01). Conclusion The expression level of mouse placental complement regulatory proteins was increased after infection with T. gondii, and then immunological microenvironment at the fetomaternal interface was destroyed. It may be one of important immunological mechanism for abnormal pregnancy induced by T. gondii infection.

Natural killer (NK) cells, as an essential part of innate immunity, can directly identify and kill tumor cells after being activated by the synergistic action of surface inhibitory receptors and activated receptors. It can secrete cytokines to recruit dendritic cells (DCs), induce DCs maturation and enhance adaptive immune response. It can target cancer stem cells (CSCs) and circulating tumor cells (CTCs) to inhibit cancer metastasis. NK cells have a unique inflammatory tendency, which can respond to cytokines and chemokines released from tumor sites and migrate to tumor sites, making them occupy an important advantage in cancer targeted therapy. The research on cancer targeted therapy of NK cells as drug delivery carriers, NK cell membrane-coated biomimetic nanoparticles, and NK cell extracellular vesicles (NKEVs) has attracted more and more attention. The article will focus on the mechanism of NK cells inhibiting cancer, and summarize the research progress of cancer targeted therapy of NK cells.
