Fu's subcutaneous needling (FSN) is a modern approach developed from traditional Chinese acupuncture. It could give some stimulation in the subcutaneous region that has a quick and long-lasting effect on soft tissue injuries and some of the internal medicine diseases. It is a safe approach without adverse reaction. Through analysis of the features and possible mechanism of FSN, it is believed that research on mechanism of FSN is beneficial to the development of modern medicine, especially to pain management.

Poststroke aphasia is an acquired language disorder caused by stroke.It seriously affects the social ability in patients and reduces their quality of life.It might be an unbearable burden on the family and on society.However,the traditional treatment of aphasia has no positive effect.Therefore,pharmacotherapy of aphasia has received much attention.This article reviews the recent progress in researches on pharmacotherapy of poststroke aphasia.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between classification of clinical,the infarct size in patients with acute cerebral infarction and electrocardiographic(ECG)changes.Methods The ECG were done in 216 patients with acute cerebral infarction.ECG results of the patients were analyzed according to classification of the Oxfordshire Commumity Project Criteria(OCSP)and infarct size.Results The rates of ECG abnormality in classification of OCSP were 95.5% for total anterior circulation infarction(TACI),80.4% for partial anterior circulation infarction(PACI),62.5% for posterior circulation infarction(POCI)and 48.5% for lacunar cerebral infarction(LACI).The rates of ECG abnormality of TACI and PACI were signficantly higher than that of group of LACI(P

Objective To access the effect of intermittent catheterization (IC) on the urinary tract infection in patients with spinal cord injury. Methods Sixty patients of spinal cord injury combined with urinary tract infec-tion were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group (32 patients) treated with sensitive antibiotics and IC;control group (28 patients) treated with sensitive antibiotics only. Both groups were treated for two weeks. Results In the treatment and control group,the cure rate was 56% and 29% ,respectively,the total effective rate was 91% and 64% in the treatment and control group,respectively,the clearance rate of bacteria was 81% and 57% ,respec-tively. All differences were significant (P<0.05). Conclusions IC can improve the effect of antibiotic on urinary tract infection in patients with spinal cord injury, and might be effective on the treatment of urinary tract infection caused by various neurogenic bladders.

Objective To observe the effects of velcade on inflammatory reaction and cell apoptosis after ischemia-reperfusion injury, and to explore the neuroprotective mechanism of velcade.Methods The 15 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham-operated group, physiological saline control group and velcade-treated group (n= 5, each). The model of temporary middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was applied and reperfused after 2 hours. Immediately after the reperfusion, all rats were performed intraperitoneal injection with velcade 0. 2 mg/kg in velcadetreated group, and with the same volume of physiological saline in control group. After 24 hours, the rats were decapitated in all groups. The apoptosis cells were found by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and the expressions of nuclear factor-κBp65 (NF-κBp65) and interleukinh-1β (IL-1β) were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The immunologically positive cells of NF-κBp65, IL-1β and apoptosis cells were occasionally found in shamoperated group [(1.21 ± 0. 16)/400 power, (11.56 ± 0. 99)/400 power and (2. 88 ± 0. 27)/400 power], while a lot of immunologically positive cells of NF-κBp65, IL-1β and apoptosis cells were found in velcade-treated group and control group. The control with compared group, these cells were significantly more in the velcade-treated group [(56.28± 1.95)/400 power vs. (29. 76±2.53)/400 power, (47. 64±2.06)/400 power vs. (29.6±1. 61)/400 power and (51. 05±4. 23)/400 power vs.(33.44±2.06)/400 power, all P＜0. 05]. Conclusions The velcade could decrease the expressions of the NF-κBp65 and IL-1β and diminish the neuronal apoptosis. The neuroprotective mechanism of velcade may lie in decreasing apoptosis through inhibiting inflammation.

Objective To observe the effect of leptin on glucose oxidation with increased mRNA expression of complete length long intracellular domain of leptin receptor ( OBRb) in primary cultured skeletal muscle cells. Methods Skeletal muscle cells were isolated from SD sucking rat and cultured in four groups (recombinant transfection, empty plasmid transfection, non-transfection and control).The recombinant with complete length OBRb cDNA or the empty plasmid were introduced into skeletal muscle cells by clonfectin when the cultured cells were 70% conlluency, leptin and regular insulin were applied into wells and incubated for 1 h, then D-[ U-I4C]-glucose was added into wells and incubated for 2 h. The radioactivity of collected 14CO2 was assayed by scintillation. Expression level of OBRb mRNA in transfected cells was assayed by RT-PCR. Results The ratios of OBRb intraceUular domain mRNA and p-actin mRNA in cells transfected with recombinant, transiected with empty plasimd, and non-transfected were 1.22?0.10,0.41?0.08 and 0.49?0.09, respectively.The expression of OBRb intraceUular domain mRNA in cells transfected with recombinants was significantly increased as compared to the other groups of cells (P
