Cancer Research and Clinic 2009;21(10):697-698
Objective To evaluate operation and chemotherapy in patients with stage Ⅱ testicular seminoma. Methods Forty-four patients with stage Ⅱ testicular seminoma collected from February 1993 to August 2007 were treated with cisplatin-based chemotherapy with repeated course. The retroperitoneal lymph node in ten patients were resected and two patients operated after chemotherapy. Results Resected tissue in eight patients after chemotherapy were necrosis and fibrosis, two patients were viable cancer. All patients were followed up for two to eight years. Five year survival rate was stage ⅡA 100 %(11/11), stage ⅡB 91.67 % (22124), stage Ⅱc 77.78 %(7/9). Conclusion For raising survival rate and controlling disease development of the patients who suffered from stage Ⅱ testieular seminoma, the repeated courses of chemotherapy should be given as early as possible.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(21):-
Objective To observe the immunologic function of critically ill newborn and the relative function of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-?B).Methods The critically ill group contained 50 cases, and 25 cases from healthy newborns were used as control group.Blood samples were collected in each case, levels of cytokine interleukin(IL)-4,interferon(IFN)-?,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-? and NF-?B were detected.Result Compared with control group,NF-?B of the critically ill newborn activated and the cytokine were disorder, and IL-4 and TNF-? increased, but IFN-? decreased. Conclusions Critically ill newborn exist immune functional disorder.Furthermore,NF-?B activation may be involved in the process in infants with critically illness.

Objective To observe the granule tissue remodeling under neoepithelium in minitype pigs' full thickness dermal wounds and discuss the relation between the remodeling and possible ulcers or scars. Methods After the establishment of eight full-thickness dermal wound models with the diameter of 4 cm on the back of six minitype pigs, the specimens were collected from wound edge and wound center immediately, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 45 days, respectively after injury for HE staining, immunohistochemical staining and Van Gieson staining and then observed under light microscope to count the cell number, fibroblasts and vascular endothelial cells as well as evaluate the quantity and arrangement of collagens. Results The mean wound healing time was (29.3?1.8) days. After 9-25 days, the granule tissues in the wound center contained more cells, fibroblasts, collagen and vascular endothelial cells than those under neoepithelium of wound edge (P 0.01). Meanwhile, the collagen quantity and arrangement style of granule tissues under neoepithelium during wounds healing (12-30 days) assembled those under neoepithelium 15 days after wound healing. Conclusion Granule tissue remodeling exists during the healing of full thickness dermal wound.

Objective To explore the association between the genetic polymorphism of hypoxia inducible factor 1 α (HIF-1α) G1790A and the radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods A total of 189 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated with radical radiotherapy were followed-up for 3 years. The patients were divided into cured group with 135 cases and recurrence group with 54 cases by clinical follow-up results.PCR-RFLP was used to determine the mononucleotide genotypes of HIF-1α G1790A.Results The observed genotype frequencies of HIF-1α gene 1790 (G→A) for GG, GA and AA were 70.04% , 20.74% , 2.22% in cured group and 59.26% , 38.89% , 1.85% in recurrence group, respectively. The allele frequencies for G and A were 87.4% , 13.9% in cured groups and 78.7% ,21.3% in recurrence group, respectively, without significant difference in distribution of allele frequencies between the two groups(x2 =6.919, P =0.077).Conclusions The genetic polymorphisms of HIF-1α G1790A might be related with the radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the effects of different types of anesthesia on the incidence rates of low-er respiratory tract infections of elderly patients in orthopedic department. Methods Clinical data from 445 elderly patients in orthopedic department were collected and retrospectively analyzed. We also investigated the relationship be-tween the types of anesthesia and the lower respiratory tract infections. Results The incidence rates of lower respira-tory tract infections were 23.08%in 169 cases,12.14%in 173 cases, and 4.85%in 103 cases after general anesthe-sia with tracheal intubation, intraspinal anesthesia, and nerve blocking anesthesia, respectively. There was statistically significant difference in the infection rates among the three groups (χ2 =13.784,P=0.001).Conclusion Different ways of anesthesia is critically correlated with the incidence of the lower respiratory tract infections in elderly patients.

Objective To survey the clinical ability of diagnosis and treatment of diabetic foot among district medical clinical staffs. Methods 55 medical staffs were questionnaired about the diabetic foot knowledge before and after a technical training course. Results (1) After training, the clinical ability of diabetes physical examination, the features of diabetic foot identification, diabetic foot prevention and treatment, diabetic foot health education and the muhidisciplinary team of diabetic foot organization improved. The medical staffs got to know how to organize a multidisciplinary team of diabetic foot. The difference was significant(P<0.05).(2)The professional category of medical personnel(OR=19.464,95% CI=1.837-206.243),the history collection and physical examination of diabetic foot (OR=34.825,95% CI=3.486-347.875)were the influent factors of antibiotic selection when diabetic foot were infected. Conclusion Targeted diabetic foot training is effective to improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment level of district medical staffs.

Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(11):-
Objective: To evaluate the pharmacodynamic of clematis. Methods: 1) The relaxation of isolated ileum muscle of guinea pig by clematic was tested. The antagonism of clematis on histamine or Ach induced ileum muscle contraction was tested also. 2) By using the model of turning of trunk, the pain releasing effect of clematis was evaluated. 3) The experiments about anti-inflammation action of clematis were carried out in two models. Results: Clematis relaxed the ileum muscle. It also antagonized the contraction of the muscle caused by histamine and Ach. A single intrapeditional administration of clematis to Kun-Ming mice significantly prolonged the latency and reduced the writhe number at the turning of trunk model; clematis dose-dependently inhibited the mouse ear swelling caused by xylol. It also had anti-inflammation effect at the other model. The results demonstrated that clematis could release the pain, suppress the inflammation and smooth muscle contraction.
