Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2003;0(04):-
The causes of "Plateau Phenomenon"in College English learning are analyzed on the basis of the investigation and the study of the Learning Curve. Some solutions to cope with the stagnation are also suggested. It's worth attention that Learning Strategy can be a vital factor to overcome the"Plateau Phenomenon."
2.Progress of experimental research on treating Alzheimer's disease by acupuncture.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2014;34(3):359-361
To discuss the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), we summarized the mechanisms of treating AD animal models by acupuncture from literatures in recent years as follows. Senile dementia rats' cognitive capabilities and memory could be improved by reduction of beta-amyloid protein, attenuation of excessive phosphorylation of tau protein, regulation of center neurotransmitter dysmetabolism, oxidation of anti-free radicals, reduction of neuron apoptosis in the cortex and the hippocampus, inhibition of glial cells' differentiation, adjustment of G protein signaling transduction, and improvement of the mitochondrial dysfunction, thus providing experimental evidence for treating AD by acupuncture.

3.Detection of basic fibroblast growth factor receptor protein on human lens epithelial cells
International Eye Science 2008;8(8):1511-1513
· AIM: To study the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) receptor protein in human lens epithelial cells (HLECs). METHODS: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the level of bFGF receptor protein and image analysis was adopted to perform the relative quantitative analysis on it. · RESULTS: There was bFGF receptor protein in HLECs accordingl to both qualitative and quantitative analysis. · CONCLUSION: bFGF receptor protein exists in HLECs and it is the material foundation for bFGF to improve the proliferation of HLECs.

AIM: To study the protective effect of hyperpolarized cardioplegic arrest on reperfused rat heart performance and to investigate the role of mitochondrial ATP-sensitive K+ channels(mitoKATP) opening in the protection of hyperpolarized cardioplegia against ischemia/reperfusion damage.METHODS: Forty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into five groups(n=8 in each group): control group(Con);depolarized arrest group(D);hyperpolarized arrest group(H);depolarized cardioplegia with 5-hydroxydecanoate(5-HD) group(5HD+D);hyperpolarized cardioplegia with 5-HD group(5HD+H).The rat hearts were quickly removed to Langendorff apparatus. The heart perfusion was performed for 20 min with 37 ℃ Krebs-Henseleit buffer balanced with gas mixture(O2∶CO2=95%∶5%) at 5.8 kPa perfusion pressure, then cardial arrest was induced by different cardioplegic solution.Hearts were subjected to ischemia at 37 ℃ for 40 min followed by 30 min reperfusion.(1) The hemodynamics was detected at recovery after 30 min reperfusion.(2) Before ischemia and at the end-reperfusion,tissue was harvested for mitochondrial isolation and ultrastructure was observed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).(3) Production of reactive oxygen species(ROS) was also determined at different time points.RESULTS:(1) Compared with end-equilibration,30 min reperfusion caused significant differences in left ventricular developed pressure(LADP),left ventricular end-diastolic pressure(LVEDP),double product(DP),heart rate (HR),coronary flow(CF)(P

0. 05) in a year, respectively. Conclusions FK506 was an effective and high safe basic immunosuppressant in long-term application in renal transplant recipients, especially suitable for children and old recipients. To those patients with DM, FK506 had almost the same influence on the glucose metabolism as the CsA.

AIM: To analyze the effect of myopic adolescents wearing orthokeratology lens on the corneal surface curvature radius and anterior chamber depth.METHODS: Totally 120 cases of adolescent myopia were selected, among them 58 cases with 116 eyes were divided into 11-14 years old group and 62 cases with 124 eyes were 15-18 years old group according to the age. They were treated with long-term orthokeratology lens treatment, and two groups of patients were observed before wearing lens(T0), wearing for 6mo (T1), 12mo (T2) for uncorrected visual acuity, the average refractive degree improvement, the central corneal thickness, corneal curvature changes and the incidence of complications.RESULTS: The uncorrected visual acuity of the two groups at 12mo after wearing were better than that at 6mo which was better than that before wearing;the diopter had the same trend. The uncorrected visual acuity and the diopter of the 11-14 years old group at 6 and 12mo was better than those of 15-18 years old group with significant difference (P<0.05).The central corneal thickness of the two groups at 12mo after wearing were less than that at 6mo which was less than that before wearing. There was no significant difference of the central corneal thickness between the two groups at 6 and 12mo after wearing (P>0.05).The corneal anterior surface curvature of the two groups at 12mo after wearing were more than that at 6mo which was more than that before wearing. The axial length of the 11-14 years old group was longer than that of the 15-18 years old group with significant difference (P<0.05).There was no significant difference on the corneal posterior surface curvature of the two groups before and after wearing (P>0.05).There was no significant difference on the anterior chamber depth between the two groups at different time or between before and after wearing (P>0.05).CONCLUSION: Long-term wearing orthokeratology lenses have a significant effect for control ling juvenile myopia, and can improve the corneal anterior surface curvature, especially in the lower age group, and has no significant effect on the anterior chamber depth.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble steroid hormone.Vitamin D receptor(VDR),a type of nuclear receptor, recognized by Vitamin D has many biological functions and the pathway of 1,25 (OH)2D3/VDR plays an important role in human such as regulating calcium phosphate metabolism, glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism and water metabolism.Water channel protein aquaporin(AQP) is a kind of smaller hydrophobic trans-membrahe proteins, expressed in cell membrane of renal tubules, endocrine glands and red blood cells.Aquaporin plays a key role in the regulation of water balance and metabolism.Vitamin D has a positive effect in diabetic nephropathy via inhibiting renin-angiotensin system, while aquaporin is a new biological marker of chronic kidney disease and kidney injury.Latest studies have showed that the expression of aquaporin can be regulated by vitamin D.Therefore,Vitamin D and aquaoprin play an important role in chronic kidney disease and kidney injury.

AIM:To study the differences of basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)gene expression in lens epithelial cells (LECs) between fetuses and cataract patients. METHODS: In situ hybridization was used to detect bFGF mRNA in the LECs that were cultured and in tissue sections from fetuses and in the LECs from the anterior capsule of cataract patients. Image analysis was used for the relative quantitative analysis of bFGF mRNA. RESULTS: bFGF gene existed in the LECs that were cultured and in tissue sections from fetuses and in the LECs from the anterior capsule of cataract patients. The integral absorbance for the fetal cultured cells, the fetal tissue sections and the capsule membrane cells of cataract patients were 627.1±268.7, 131.5±42.8 and 79.2±26.3 respectively. The integral absorbance of fetal cultured LECs was significantly higher than that of fetal section LECs (P<0.01). The integral absorbance of cataract LECs was significantly lower than that of fetal LECs (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: The in vitro culture of LECs can improve bFGF gene expression. The bFGF gene expression in fetal LECs is significantly higher than that in cataract LECs.
