Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2006;18(2):122-125
We present an algorithm for numerical solution of transport equation in diffusive regimes, in which the transport equation is nearly singular and its solution becomes a solution of a diffusion equation. This algorithm, which is based on the Least-squares FEM in combination with a scaling transformation, presents a good approximation of a diffusion operator in diffusive regimes and guarantees an accurate discrete solution. The numerical experiments in 2D and 3D case are given, and the numerical results show that this algorithm is correct and efficient.

Objective To explore the association of dietary behavior of children with Tourette syndrome (TS) and tic symptoms. Methods 207 TS children and their 264 corresponding controls, who visited our hospital during the period of November 2008 to October 2010,were investigated with children' s dietary behavior questionnaire, under the guidance of professional staff, and the TS tic symptom severity was also evaluated according to The Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS).Kruskal-Wallis H rank-sum test was applied for univariate analysis and multinominal logistic regression for further multivariate analysis, with values of odds ratio (OR) and population attributable risk (PAR) obtained to demonstrate the relation strength between dietary behavior and tic symptom severity. Results Results of univariate analysis showed that western fast meal, barbecues, cream food, cold food, and spicy food were related to TS tic symptom severity (P<0.05).Results of multivariate analysis demonstrated that western fast meal, fruits and vegetables, cream food and spicy food were risk factors for mild TS compared with control group, with OR and 95% CI of 3.282 (1.922,5.064),2.239 (1.298,3.861),2.341 (1.355,4.046),2.118 (1.327,3.380) and their corresponding PAR of 0.306,0.464,0.169,0.250 respectively. As to moderate and severe TS,the risk factors included western fast meal, fruits and vegetables, and spicy food, with their respective OR and 95% CI of 2.581 (1.322,5.038),2.364 (1.166,4.795),1.822 (1.014,2.272) and PAR of 0.234,0.487,0.197.Conclusion Dietary behavior, especially western fast meal, fruits and vegetables, cream food and spicy food, are considered to be associated with TS tic symptom severity. Therefore it' s obligatory to rectify undesirable dietary behaviors for TS children.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1993;0(05):-
The construction of biosafety laboratory was highly concerned these years because of the spread of high pathogenic diseases including SARS and avian influenza. In the past several years, the construction of many BSL-2/3 laboratories played an important role in preventing the dissemination of pathogens involved in the research. Meanwhile, serious problems were also raised because some project designers or constructors were not clear with the compulsory safety equipments in these laboratories so that the requirement of zero-leakage could not be achieved. The compulsory safety equipments emerging and disposing solid, liquid and gas offal in the biosafety laboratory were reviewed. The R&D of special equipments in biosafety laboratory in China was also introduced.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2013;(6):470-471
A total of 55 children aged under 14 years with cholecystolithiasis were treated at our hospital between January 2005 to December 2011.Their clinical data were collected and analyzed. The etiologies included pseudolithiasis (n =36),chronic hemolytic disease (n =2),obesity (n =9) and unknown (n =8).Among 50 cases on conservative treatment,42 cases were cured.Four cases underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy.During a follow-up period of 2-4 years, there was no occurrence of significant complications. The removal of gallbladder stone was performed via laparoscopy plus choledochoscope in 1 case. There was no recurrence during a follow-up period of 2 years.Ceftriaxone sodium and obesity were the major cause of pediatric cholecystolithiasis.A proper selection of treatment regimens should be based upon the considerations of etiologies and symptoms.

Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of paired needling in treating insomnia with depression after cerebral stroke. Method Eighty patients with insomnia plus depression after cerebral stroke were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 40 cases in each group. The treatment group was intervened by paired needling at Xinshu (BL15), Juque (CV14), Ganshu (BL18), and Qimen (LR14), once a day, 20 min each session;the control group was by oral administration of Paroxetine hydrochloride tablet 20 mg, 1 tablet each time prior to sleep at night. Two treatment courses were observed in the two groups (successive 2-week treatment as a course). The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was adopted to observe the two groups before treatment, after 2-week treatment, and after 4-week treatment, and the clinical efficacy was also evaluated. Result Respectively after 2-week and 4-week treatment, the PSQI scores and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) scores dropped significantly in the two groups compared to that before the intervention (P<0.05);the improvements of the PSQI and HAMD scores in the treatment group were more significant than that in the control group;the scores were markedly improved in the 2nd week in the treatment group and were significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05);the significant differences were maintained in the following 2 weeks;the total effective rate was respectively 90.0%(36/40) in the treatment group and 15.0%(6/40) in the control group, and the therapeutic efficacy of the treatment group was markedly superior to that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The results show that paired needling is safe and effective in treating insomnia with depression after cerebral stroke, and its therapeutic efficacy is superior to that of Paroxetine hydrochloride tablets.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of needling revision with mitomycin C(MMC) subconjuctival injection on early failed filtering blebs after trabeculectomy for glaucoma. Methods Needling revision with MMC 0.2 mL(0.04 mg) subconjuctival injection was performed on 86 eyes of 76 patients with failed filtering blebs 2 to 6 weeks after trabeculectomy for glaucoma. An average of 1.88 times of treatment was performed. The intraocular pressure(IOP),blebs and side effects were observed, and follow-up was conducted for 6 months. Results Two to six weeks after trabeculectomy, there were 50 eyes with thickened and focalized blebs,32 eyes with encapsulated blebs and 4 eyes with no bleb.Six months after needling revision with MMC subconjuctival injection, blebs of 61 eyes turned into functional ones. The blebs were thinned and multicysted in 24 eyes, diffused and elevated in 37 eyes, thickened and focalized in 6 eyes, encapsulated in 13 eyes and disappeared in 6 eyes.Three months after treatment, the mean IOP was(15.2?6.1) mmHg,and there were 57 eyes with IOP

AIM : To construct and analyze eukaryotic expression plasmid inserted by Cx50 with V64G mutation through bioinformatics software.METHODS: The full coding domain sequence of Cx50 with V64G mutation was acquired from the blood of patients with cataract and was cloned into pcDNA3.1 /Amp (+).The constructed plasmid was identified with PCR , enzyme digestion and sequencing. The analysis of Cx50 with V64G mutation was performed with bioinformatics software.RESULTS : Cx50 with V64G mutation was successfully amplified and its eukaryotic expression plasmid was constructed. Valine-64 is well conserved in the first extracellular loop of connexin 50 in different species and also in different human α -type gap junctional proteins.CONCLUSION : The successive reconstruction and verification of eukaryotic expression plasmid containing Cx50 with V64G mutation established the foundation for further studying the mechanism of cataract.
