Objective:To explore the effect of tibial nerve vibration on triceps surae spasticity in stroke survivors and its electrophysiological mechanism. Methods:Thirty stroke survivors with upper limb spasticity were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, each of 30. Both groups were given routine rehabilitation training while the treatment group was additionally provided with local vibration of the tibial nerve with an amplitude of 0.3mm at 60Hz. Before and after the treatment, the modified Ashworth scale (MAS) and Clonus grading were used to assess muscle tone and spasticity. Electrophysiological functions were evaluated using the tibial nerve motor and sensory conduction test and F wave and H reflex sensing. Results:Before the treatment there were no significant differences between the two groups in their average MAS scores, Clonus grading, maximum H amplitude (Hmax), the ratio of maximum H to maximum M amplitude (H/M) or the intensity of stimulus required to elicit Hmax. After the treatment, however, all of those measurements had improved significantly in both groups with the average improvements in the treatment group significantly greater than those in the control group. Conclusions:Local vibration of the tibial nerve combined with traditional rehabilitation is more effective than traditional rehabilitation alone in relieving triceps surae spasticity and reducing muscle tone after a stroke. The vibration seems to inhibit excitation of the reflex pathway.

Purpose To investigate the value of real-time three-dimensional contrast-enhanced ultrasound (RT3D-CEUS) for the evaluation of blunt renal trauma hemorrhage. Materials and Methods Nine healthy New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into three groups, and after heparinization, the models of ongoing hemorrhage of blunt renal trauma were developed by self-made minitype striker in the three groups with different force levels:77.2 N (group A), 106.2 N (group B), 135.1 N (group C). All rabbits were performed ultrasonography (US), color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) and RT3D-CEUS before and after strike (within 20 minutes). The results achieved by US, CDFI, 2D-CEUS (A-plane results in RT3D-CEUS) and RT3D-CEUS were compared with each other, and further compared with the pathological results of the executed animals after blood pressure decreased lower than 40 mmHg. Results All rabbits showed traumatic renal lesions and it proved that the bigger the force the heavier the injury (group A: 1 case of levelⅠ, 2 cases of levelⅡ;group B:3 cases of levelⅢ;group C:1 case of levelⅢ, 2 cases of level Ⅳ ). After strike, US identified the presence of increasing hematoma under the capsule but could not detect active bleeding. In CDFI, only 1 case was detected ongoing hemorrhage. 2D-CEUS clearly presented the bleeding in all cases. RT3D-CEUS presented a vivid real-time and stereoscopical image of active hemorrhage in all cases and also showed that the wider the bleeding area was shorter than the shock duration time. Conclusion RT3D-CEUS can present a real-time dynamic bleeding and locate headstream of blood in renal trauma vividly and stereoscopically, and can be used to preliminarily evaluate the degree of ongoing hemorrhage in traumatic kidney.

OBJECTIVE:To compare the quality control index between Jinzhen Suanzao teabag and decoction, and explore the alternative supplement of teabag to decoction. METHODS:The test sample solutions of Jinzhen Suanzao teabag and decoction were prepared by hot-maceration method and water-decoction method. The contents of water soluble extract and total flavonoids were de-termined and compared between 2 kinds of preparation. The leaching rates of teabag were investigated at different soak time(0,5, 10,15,20,25,30 min) to optimize soaking time. RESULTS:The average content of water soluble extract were 50.56% and 44.45%(P<0.05) respectively for the teabag and decoction. The total flavonoids content were 0.64 mg/g and 0.69 mg/g (P<0.05). The dissolution amount of teabag were increasing and leaching rate increased within first 20 min,and reached balance gradu-ally 25 min later. CONCLUSIONS:According to the convenience of use and results of each index, the difference in quality control index is not great between 2 kinds of preparation. Teabag can be as the supplement of decoction.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of acetylcysteine magnesium on the vasoactive substances and hepatic fibrosis indexes in liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension of rats.
METHODSThe rat liver cirrhosis model was made with 12 microg/kg dimethylnitrosamines. Then acetylcysteine magnesium was injected respectively with 25, 50, and 100 mg x kg(-1) dose daily into abdominal cavity. After 8 weeks treatment, pathological section, TGF-beta1, NO, TNOS and iNOS of hepatic tissue were detected to assess the effect of acetylcysteine magnesium against cirrhosis portal hypertension.
RESULTSAfter the DMNA modeling was completed, the HE and Sweet reticulocyte staining of liver pathological section showed that cirrhosis of the liver was in the III-IV phase, the infiltration of lymphocytes and formation of pseudolobuli in liver were alleviated in three acetylcysteine magnesium treatment groups (low, medium, and high dose), and the degree of liver fiber sclerosis in three groups was significantly lower than control group. Compared with control group, TGF-beta1, NO, TNOS and iNOS were significantly reduced in all treatment groups (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAcetylcysteine magnesium is probably a distinctive antioxidant which can remove various free radical in body and modulate ligand-dependent signal transduction and the growth of cell. It also have protection in the liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension of rats induced by dimethylnitrosamine.

OBJECTIVEThis study simulated clinical implant surgery using squeeze technique by establishing a rational animal model. To measure the morphologic parameters in order to observe the agglutination of the cancellous bone after being compressed. The study wanted to get some favourable support of implant squeeze technique in bone healing and obtaining primary stabilities of implants, so as to provide some reasonable and valid guidance in the application and improvement of implant squeeze technique.
METHODSThe cancellous bone in condyles of femur of dog had been chosen as the experimental position, prepared the implant holes using squeeze technique according to different compressing extent (0, 0.6, 1.2, 2.0 mm), and then inserted the corresponding implants into them. After different healing periods (1, 2, 4, 12 weeks), the mongrel dogs were sacrificed and the hard tissue slices were made and then the morphologic parameters were measured.
RESULTSThe morphologic parameter of the bone tissue shows that after being compressed, the trabecular bone thickness was almost constant, while the trabecular bone number increased, and the trabecular bone spacing decreased, obviously in the 1-week and 2-week groups. The differences went down gradually along with the extend of healing time.
CONCLUSIONThe clinical implant surgery using squeeze technique can improve peri-implant bone density so it is good for obtaining primary stabilities of implants.
