Objective To investigate the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics of breast carcinosarcoma with osteosarcoma components and its differential diagnosis. Methods The pathologic features and clinical manifestations of the two patients were retrospectively reviewed. Immunohistochemistry was performed and the literature was reviewed. Results Histopathologically, the neoplasm consisted of invasive ductal carcinoma of no special type and poorly ( case 1 ) or well (case 2) differentiated osteosarcomatoid elements. The morphological transition from carcinoma to sarcomatoid elements was seen. Immunohistochemically, the carcinoma cells were positive for CK and EMA , the sarcomatoid elements were stained positive for vimentin, and a few cells of two elements were positive for S-100 protein. Ki-67 and VEGF were over expressed in both elements of Case 1.In case2 Ki-67 expression was low in both elements and VEGF over expression was only seen in sarcomatoid elements. Some of the carcinoma cells were positive for ER. Conclusions Carcinosarcoma of the breast with osteosarcomatoid elements is a rare type of mixed epithelial/mesenchymal metaplastic breast carcinoma. The types and proportion of carcinoma and sarcomatoid elements determine the diagnosis.

Objective To study the role of prostaglandin E1 in prevention of contrast-induced ne-phropathy (CIN)in elderly CHD patients undergoing PCI .Methods Three hundred elderly CHD patients who were going to undergo PCI in Tianjin Chest Hospital were divided into prostaglandin E1 treatment group (n=150) and conventional treatment group (n=150) .Patients in prostaglan-din E1 treatment group were treated with 20 μg prostaglandin E1 plus hydration therapy and those in conventional treatment group received simple hydration therapy .T heir serum levels of creatinine ,urea ,β2-microglobulin ,24 h proteinuria ,CRP ,IL-6 ,TNF-α,GPX ,SOD ,and creatinine clearance rate were measured before and 3 d after PCI .The incidence of CIN in two groups was analyzed .The hypotension events in prostaglandin E1 treatment group were recorded .Results The serum levels of CRP ,SOD ,GPX ,24 h proteinuria and the incidence of CIN were significantly lower while the creatinine clearance rate was significantly higher in prostaglandin E 1 treatment group than in conventional treatment group after PCI (P<0 .05) .The serum levels of CRP ,IL-6 , SOD ,GPX and 24 h proteinuria were significantly higher in two groups after PCI than before PCI (P<0 .05) .Conclusion Prostaglandin E1 can protect the renal function in CHD patients under-going PCI and play a certain role in preventing CIN .

AIM: Currently available anti-scarring regimens for glaucoma filtration surgery have potentially blinding complications and safer alternatives would be beneficial. This experiment is to investigate the effect of TGF-β2 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide on differentiation, proliferation of subconjunctival fibroblast following glaucoma filtration surgery.METHODS: Glaucoma filtration surgery were performed on both eyes of 28 rabbits. TGF-β2 antisense oligodeoxynudeotide was subconjunctivally injected in the right eyes (A group), and TGF-β2 missense oligodeoxynucleotide (B group)or PBS(C group) was used at the same method in the left eyes as controls. Rabbits were killed at 4,7,14 and 28 days after surgery. Intraocular pressure (IOP), bleb characteristics were recorded at different time point. Subconjunctival fibroblasts were examined by immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy.RESULTS: The IOP of rabbits in group A was significantly lower at 14 days (6.74± 1.18 mmHg) and 21 days (8.15± 1.97mmHg) after operation than the IOP in group B (8.53± 1.04,9.72± 1.09 mmHg)(P <0.01) and group C(8.79± 1.21, 9.43±1.27 mmHg) (P <0.05). The mean bleb survival time was longer (17.2 days) in group A than that of group B (14.5 days) and group C (13.5 days)(P<0.05). The population of the cells expressing α -smooth muscle actin(α -SMA) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) was significantly reduced in group A compared with the group B and C. The ultrastructure of fibroblast was not altered by TGF-β2 anti-sense oligodeoxynucleotide.CONCLUSION:TGF-β2 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide can prevent the scar formation after glaucoma surgery by inhibit the differentiation and proliferation of subconjunctival fibroblast. It could be a potentially useful anti-scarring alternative for the prevention of late surgical failure.

Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2013;(11):903-906
Objective To observe and evaluate the effect of ultrasound guided percutaneous ethanol injection for hyperparathyroidism secondary to chronic renal failure. Methods Fifty-three patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism in Nanjing General Hospital Military Command from January 2011 to May 2013 were treated by percutaneous ethanol injection. The echogenicity, size and blood supply of parathyroid glands were observed by color Doppler ultrasound before and after treatment. Parathyroid hormone (PTH) and volumes of parathyroid glands were analyzed and compared with non-paired t test. Results Before treatment, the parathyroid gland volume was (5.28±0.84) cm3. The enlarged parathyroid glands had homogeneous hypoechogenicity and abundant blood supply, and the PTH was (1041.6±37.1) ng/L. After treatment, the size of solitary parathyroid gland was (3.93±0.67) cm3 which did not change significantly compared with that before treatment. The echogenicity of parathyroid glands enhanced and blood supply decreased after injection ethanol into solitary parathyroid. PTH [(509.2±27.6) ng/L] decreased obviously (t=3.792, P < 0.05). Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound guided percutaneous injection of ethanol has an important role in the treating of secondary hyperparathyroidism and the curative effect can be observed timely.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1998;0(S1):-
a adrenoceptor-mediated increases in smooth muscle tone of the prostate gland and urethra acts as a dynamic factor for BPH-related obstruction of the urethra, a1 adrenoceptor antagonists are considered as the first-line therapy for the patients with BPH. The search for selective a1A a-drenoceptor antogonists with high uroselectivity is strategical for drug discovery research.

Objective To investigate the status of the rehabilitation service and rehabilitation medical professionals in Tianjin. Methods130 hospitals and Disabled Persons' Federations in Tianjin selected by stratified random cluster sampling were surveyed by questionnaires. Results About 49.2% institutions had carried out the rehabilitation services; there were 842 rehabilitation medical professionals in total, including237 rehabilitation physicians and 3 prosthetic orthopaedic technicians, with a gap of nearly 3000 people; most of them were in loweducation. Conclusion The rehabilitation service should be developed; the quantities and quality of the rehabilitation medical professionalsshould be improved, the classified structure and the service objects are unbalanced.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1982;0(04):-
Objective To establish a sensitive, valid and rapid high performance liquid chromatography-trap mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) method for determining carbocisteine concentration in human plasma. Methods Plasma samples were pretreated by 100 mL/L perchloric acid to remove the interference protein. The supernatant was separated by reverse phase HPLC,electrospray MS was used to detect carbocisteine in plasma samples, and selective ion method of multiple reaction modes was used to determine the concentration of carbocisteine. Results The limit of detection was 0.01 ?g/mL and the linear range was 0.2-200.0 ?g/mL. The recovery rate was within the range of 89.2%-105.6%. Conclusion The proposed method could be used to determine carbocisteine in biological samples.
