Objective To investigate the effects of normobaric hyperoxia intervention on learning and memory abilities of valproic acid(VPA) autism model rats and the morphology of pyramidal cells in hippocampus CA1 area.Methods Animal model groups of autism were obtained in male offspring of the Wistar rats that received intraperitoneal injection of 600 mg/kg VPA at the 12.5 day after pregnancy.According to the eye opening time,behavior,weaning weight and the learning and memory abilities which were evaluated by the Y electricity maze test at the 28th day after birth,40 male VPA autism model rats were randomly selected 20 only and divided into normobaric hyperoxia model group (group A,n =10),atmospheric air model group (group B,n =10).Normal control groups were obtained in male offspring of Wistar rats that received intraperitoneal injection of equivalent physiological saline at the same period pregnancy.(group C,n =10).Rats in group A were treated with oxygen for 1 h per day and lasted 1 week;group B and C were treated with normal air.The learning and memory abilities of three groups were assessed at the 35th day after birth.The immunohistochemistry methods and image analysis were used to observe the pyramidal cells of autism model rats in hippocampal CA1 region.The effect of normobaric hyperoxia therapy on pyramidal cell of autism model rats in hippocampal CA1 region were evaluated by HE staining technique.Results The trying times of group A after treatment were less than those before treatment (31.15 ± 0.99 vs 31.54 ± 0.97,t =2.739,P =0.018).The memory times were more than those before treatment (3.00± 0.58 vs 2.69 ± 0.48,t =-2.309,P =0.040).The trying times of group A after treatment were less than those in group B after treatment (P =0.016).The memory times of group A were not different from that in group B after treatment(P=0.810).The morphology of pyramidal cells in hippocampal CA1 region showed that the pyramidal cells of the autism model rats had apoptosised.The number of apoptotic cells reduced and the number of normal form cells increased after the normobaric hyperoxia intervention compared with the autism model rats.Conclusion Normobaric hyperoxia intervention can improve the learning and memory abilities of the autism model rats.The apoptosis of the pyramidal neurons in hippocampal CA1 might be reduced after the normobaric hyperoxia intervention.

Objective To study the inhibition activity of volatile oil from Mappianthus iodoies on SPC-A-1 and BEL-7402 cancer cells.Methods The volatile oil in Mappianthus iodoie was extracted by SFE-CO2.MTT assay was employed to test the antitumor effect of volatile oil from Mappianthus iodoies in two kinds of malignant tumor cell lines,with IC50 applied to evaluate the degree of inhibition activity.Results When the dose of volatile oil from Mappianthus iodoies was 200 μg/ml,the inhibition ratios of the tumor cell was in excess of 50％,the IC50 was 169.54,695.21 μg/ml respectively.Conclusion Volatile oil from Mappianthus iodoies extracted by SFE-CO2 has obvious inhibition activity on SPC-A-1 and BEL-7402 cancer cells.

Objective To investigate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen on learning and memory ability in rats with a model of VPA autism and on the pyramidal cells in the CA1 region of the hippocampus.Methods An animal model of autism was established in the offspring of Wistar rats which had received a single intraperitoneal injection of sodium valproate at the 12.5th day of pregnancy.A total of 48 male VPA autism model rats were randomly divided into the hyperbaric oxygen group,a high pressure air group,a normal pressure high oxygen group and a normal pressure air group (each group with 12 rats).A normal control group was obtained by injecting physiological saline.The autism model rats of the hyperbaric oxygen group were treated with high pressure oxygen in an animal experiment cabin which was cleaned with pure oxygen for 10 min,pressurized for 15 min,held at 2.0 atmospheres absolute (ATA) for 45 min and then had the pressure relieved over 15 min.For the high pressure air group the cabin was pressurized with air for 15 min,held at 2.0 ATA for 45 min and the pressure was relieved over 15 min.For the normal pressure,high oxygen group the cabin was cleaned for 10 min with pure oxygen,then pure oxygen was supplied for 1 hour with the cabin door open.The normal pressure air group rats were placed in the open cabin with no pressure or additional oxygen.The testing lasted 7 days for 1 hour per day.The normal control group rats were placed in ordinary cages.Learning and memory were evaluated using the Y electric maze test before and after the interventions.Any changes in the pyramidal cells in the CA1 region of the hippocampus were observed after hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining.Results The average number of tries of the hyperbaric oxygen group after treatment was significantly less than before treatment and memory retention times were increased.The number was also less in the normobaric hyperoxia group and memory retention times again improved.The number of apoptotic cells was reduced and the number of normal form cells in the CA1 region increased after the hyperbaric oxygen intervention.Conclusions The learning and memory abilities of the autistic rats improved after the hyperbaric oxygen intervention.Pyramidal cells in the CA1 region proliferated and the number of apoptotic cell decreased.This may be the mechanism by which hyperbaric oxygen intervention treats autism.

To investigate the clinical improvement of limping gait in patients with ankylotic hips and limb length discrepancy.Methods:From 1996 to 2005,12 patients with ankylotic hips and limb length discrepancy were treated by distraction osteogenesis with a mono-lateral external fixator and an intramedullary nail.The limb length discrepancy was 6.20-12.50 (median 8.45) cm.Limping gait was classified according to the recommendations of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons/Hip Society and scored according to Harris:no limping scored 11 points,mild limping scored 8 points,moderate limping scored 5 points,while severe limping scored 0 points.Limping gait was severe in all patients pre-operatively and the total score was 0.Results:All patients were followed up for 30.00-46.00 (median 38.55) months,and all reported improvement in limping gait.The gain in length was 6.00-12.50 (median 8.20) cm,and the mean residual limb length discrepancy was 0-0.50 (median 0.20) cm.The total treatment time was 41.00-82.00 (median 61.50) weeks,the lengthening time was 14.00-38.00 (median 29.55) weeks.At the last follow-up,10patients had mild limping gait and 2 had moderate limping gait; the total score was 90.00.The median score was 7.50 (P25 was 8.00,P75 was 8.00).According to Wilcoxon signed rank test,the post-operative limping gait scores were significantly higher than pre-operative (P=0.001 ).Conclusion:Femoral lengthening can improve the limping gait significantly in ankylotic hips and limb length discrepancy.

Objective To explore the effect and adverse reaction of priming regimen CAG in treatment of acute myeloid leukemia in elderly.Methods 32 elderly patients with acute myelogenous leukemia were treated with CAG regimen and 25 cases with standard chemotherapy regimen( DA regimen). The effect and adverse reaction were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference of the complete remission rate and effective rate between the two groups. The recovery time of bone marrow and death rate of CAG the regimen group were superior to those of the DA group. Conclusion CAG regimen was effctive and safe for elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia.

Objective To explore the role of monitoring the cellular immune function in preventing and treating the fungal infection in the recipients of liver transplantation. Methods 679 cadaveric liver transplantations (from Jan. 2004 to Jan. 2010) were retrospectively studied. All the cases were divided into 3 groups according to different treatments and preventing regimens. The patients in groups A, B, C were treated based on the clinical experiences (394 cases), T lymphocyte subsets counting (151 cases), and combination of ATP values of CD4+ T cell and T lymphocyte subsets counting (134 cases), respectively. The infection, mortality and acute rejection rate were analyzed. The relationship between fungal infection and cellular immune function was investigated.Results The fungal infection rate in groups A, B, and C was 28. 9 %, 21.2 %, and 19. 4 % (P<0. 05), the morbidity rate was 16. 7 %, 12. 5%, and 3. 8% (P>0. 05), and the acute rejection rate was 28. 4 %, 17. 2 %, and 13. 4 % (P<0. 01), respectively. The CD4+ T lymphocyte counting in all cases of fungal infection was (147±43)×106/L. The morbidity could reach 50. 0 % when the CD4+ T lymphocyte counting < 100 ×106/L, while it was 2. 4 % when the counting was between (100-200) ×106/L (P<0. 01). The CD4+ T lymphocyte counting had no linear relation with the ATP value.The ATP value in fungal infection cases was (117 ± 61)μg/L. Conclusion The cellular immune function test could be quantitatively evaluated according to the T lymphocyte subsets and ATP value of CD4+ T lymphocyte. And individualized immunosuppressive therapy could be adjusted accordingly.Therefore, cellular immune function could be instructive in preventing and treating the fungal infection after liver transplantation.

Objective This study analyzes the effect of the shrinkage of thermoplastic mask on patient positioning. Methods Design of the two test. Test 1:thermoplastic film shrinkage test. Get some thermoplastic film by the size of 10 cm×5 cm, extrude it at a certain rate after heated. Measure the length of thermoplastic film on different time, and calculate the contraction. Test 2:phantom test. Take advantage of head and neck phantom, and simulate the procedure that from making mask for patients to radiation therapy. Measure the off set of isocenter which caused by the contraction of thermoplastic mask. Results The largest shrinkage of thermoplastic had happened in 20 minutes. Different tensile ratio had little effect on the shrinkage. The offset of isocenter which caused by the shrinkage of thermoplastic mask were:LR ( -0?? 1± 0?? 3) mm,SI (-0?? 2±0?? 2) mm, AP (0.6±0?? 4) mm,respectively. There was little change in the course of six weeks ( P= 0.185?0?? 961). Conclusions The cooling time should be more than 20 minutes, when making a mask for the patient. The setup errors which caused by the shrinkage of thermoplastic mask is at an acceptable level on this premise.

Objective To explore the feasibility and efficiency of metacognitive training (MCT) in inpatients with schizophrenia,as well as the short-term effects of metacognitive training on symptoms,cognitive function,and insight.Methods Sixty inpatients that met the DSM-Ⅳ criteria for schizophrenia were randomly assigned to either MCT (research group,n =30) or an active controlled intervention (control group,n =30).Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS),Schizophrenia Cognition Rating Scale (SCoRS),Insight and Treatment Attitude Questionnaire(ITAQ) and beads task are assessed at baseline and after completion of the training.Results After treatment,the scores of the two groups in PANSS,SCoRS,ITAQ and the bead task were significantly improved(P＜0.05).The improvement of positive symptoms,cognitive function and insight in research group (12.8 ± 4.2,31.7 ± 13.9,9.2 ± 6.1 respectively) was significantly better than that in control group (15.6±5.9,38.1± 18.1,5.5±5.8 respectively),and the difference was statistically significant (P＜ 0.05).Conclusion Metacognitive training can effectively improve the clinical symptoms,cognitive function and insight for inpatients with schizophrenia.

Objective To explore an algorithm to define the threshold value for tumor contouring on 18F-fluorodexyglucose (FDG) PET imaging. Methods A National Electrical Manufacturing Association (NEMA)NU 2 1994 PET phantom with 5 spheres of different diameters were filled with 18F-FDG. Seven different sphere-to-background ratios were obtained and the phantom was scanned by Discovery LS 4. For each sphere-to-background ratio, the maximum standardized uptake value ( SUVmax ) of each sphere, the SUV of the border of each sphere ( SUVborder ), the mean SUV of a 1 cm region of background (SUVbg) and the diameter (D) of each sphere were measured. SPSS 13.0 software was used for curve fitting and regression analysis to obtain the threshold algorithm. The calculated thresholds were applied to delineate 29 pathologically confirmed lung cancer lesions on PET images and the obtained volumes were compared with the volumes contoured on CT images in lung window. Results The algorithm for defining contour threshold is TH% = 33.1% + 46.8% SUVbg/SUVmax + 13.9%/D ( r = 0.994) by phantom studies. For 29 lung cancer lesions, the average gross tumor volumes ( GTV ) delineated on PET and CT are ( 7.36 ± 1.62 ) ml and (8.31 ±2.05) ml, respectively (t = -1.26, P＞0.05). Conclusion The proposed threshold algorithm for tumor contouring on PET image could provide comparable GTV with CT.

One new neolignan identified as 2, 3-( trans) -dihydro-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl) -3-[(beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy) methyl]-7-methoxybenzofuran-5-propenoic acid (1) and five known steroidal glycosides namely torvoside A(2), torvoside C(3), torvoside H(4), solanolactoside A (5), (25S)-6alpha-hydroxy-5alpha-spirostan-3-one-6-0-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->3-beta3)-beta-D-D-quinovopyr-anoside] (6) were isolated from the fruits of Solanum torvum. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of 1D, 2D NMR and MS spectroscopic analysis.
