4.Assessing the degree of necrotic femoral head, and association of blood supply with pathlogical changes:study protocol for a diagnostic animal trial
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(7):1086-1091
BACKGROUND: The imaging methods of evaluating the volume of necrotic femoral head are based on Kerboul angle and necrosis index revealed on X-ray, as well as CT and MRI three-dimensional reconstruction, but the accuracy of each method is different, and none is widely accepted. Additionally, the association of the volum and degree of necrotic femoral head with the status of blood supply to the femoral head remain unclear. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the accuracy of each imaing method for assessing different stages of femoral head necrosis, and to confirm a convenient method used for measuring the volum of necrotic femoral head. METHODS: This diagnostic in vivo animal trial was finished in the Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University, Liaoning Province, China. The canine models of steroid-induced necrosis of femoral head were prepared, and received CT and MRI examinations, followed by three-dimensional reconstruction combined with Micro-CT to make accuratediagnosis; the degree of necrotic femoral head and its association with the status of blood supply were evaluated throughangiography and histopathological examination. All above outcome measures were compared with the Association Research Circulation Osseous to testify the consistency of this precise method with traditional methods. The experiment follows the national guidelines for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and Consensus author guidelines on animal ethics and welfare by the international Association for Veterinary Editors (IAVE). The article was prepared in accordance with the Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments Guidelines (ARRIVE Guidelines). RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The aim of the study is to obtain a accurate measurement method by detecting different stages of osteonecrosis using different imaging techniques, which enables surgeons make exact diagnosis and clinical stage of osteonecrosis, thus desiging standardized treatment program.
5.Current status of diagnosis and treatment of rectal carcinoids
International Journal of Surgery 2008;35(7):489-492
Rectal carcinoid tumors are potential malignant and have been considered to be rare for a long time. But in recent years, the incidence has been increasing gradually, maybe due to the development of endoscopic technology, the widespread use of endoscopy for screening and the raising level of awareness.Because of the malignant tendency, early diagnosis and treatment are the most important things for patients.Nowadays, the misdiagnosis rate is still high and it is difficult to make differential diagnosis between benign and malignant tumors. The efficiency of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is not clear.Surgery is the only effective method, but there is no uniform standard for the choice of operation. At present,it is appropriate to consider tumor size, depth of invasion, lymph node, pathological type and other risk factors to determine a surgical modality.Colonoscopy is recognized to be the best means by follow-up and should be carried out regulady in a longer period of time. Therefore,it is important to summarize the diagnosis and treatment of rectal carcinoid.
6.New therapies for obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2015;(2):218-220
Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome ( OSAHS) is a prevalent disorder often associated with multisystem dys-function.Available therapies are limited by either lack of long-term adherence or low response rates .Two emerging therapies hold promise in providing alternatives to patients with OSA .The first stems from the importance of the upperairway dilator muscles in main-taining pharyngeal stability .Electrical stimulation of the genioglossus muscle improves both upper-airway diameter and ameliorates pha-ryngeal obstruction .The results of phase ⅠandⅡclinical trials hold promise , but the reported improvements in the apnea-hypopnea index vary between subjects and long-term safety needs further studies .The second technology relies on creating an increased expiratory nasal resistance via a bidirectional valve designed to be worn just inside the nostrils .Initial findings of clinical trials suggest reduction in severity of sleep apnea and subjective daytime sleepiness .Considerable heterogeneity in response to the nasal device was noted de-spite the high adherence rates .It remains unclear which patients will likely benefit from these devices .

Results: All the factor scores of SCL-90 of the elderly people in the rural areas were higher than those of the retired people. Some factor scores of SCL-90 of elderly people showed significant differences because of existence of spouse, physical health, filial piety of sons and daughters, and economic independence. Conclusion: The mental health status of elderly people in the rural areas is poorer than that of retired people. Existence of spouse, physical health, filial piety of sons and daughters and economic independence all influence the mental health of elderly people in the rural areas.
9.Advances in clinical application of CT in the image-guided radiotherapy
China Oncology 2000;0(06):-
Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy with intensity-modulated radiation beams significantly enhances the ability to produce sharp dose gradients in the boundaries between a tumor and nearby critical structures.Small uncertainties in the daily repositioning of patients can lead to the overdose of the critical structure and the escape of the target volume. It emphasizes the need to improve the ability to localize the target for treatment. And the image-guided radiotherapy was development.Although steady streams of enhanced new methods of imaging are being introduced to improve treatment guidance and treatment verification, the development of kilovoltage cone-beam CT integrated with the medical linear accelerator for the specific purpose of guiding therapy will permit localization and targeting of soft-tissue structures at the time of treatment. In this review,we focus on the clinical application of CT in the image-guided radiotherapy.
10.Inhibitor of apoptosis proteins(IAP):Novel anticancer targets
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(02):-
An endogenous suppressor of apoptosis, the inhibitor of apoptosis proteins(IAP) plays a key role in the occurrence and progression of cancer. In recent years cancer researches have been focused on gene-specific inhibitors with IAP as the target, so as to seek gene therapeutic strategies of less toxicity and higher efficiency. As members of IAP family, survivin and livin are over-expressed in tumors. Meanwhile, Smac can directly inhibit IAP. These findings suggest a promising alternative strategy for developing novel anticancer therapies.-
