A Histologic finding of the Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita( CMTC) is non-specific, but dilated capillaries and increased number of vessels are often observed. Capillary hemangioma, mostly represented by strawberry nevus, may show various clinical manifestations. We report a case of Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita, which may be an unusual clinical presentation of capillary hemangioma.

Biosynthesis of nanomaterials has attracted much attention for its excellent characteristics such as low energy consumption, high safety, and environmental friendliness. As we all know, the toxic selenite can be transformed into higher-value nanomaterials by using bacteria. In this study, nano-selenium was synthesized by halophilic Bacillus subtilis subspecies stercoris strain XP in LB medium supplemented with selenite (electron acceptor). The physicochemical characteristics of nano-selenium were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectral analysis (EDAX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Meanwhile, the antifungal activity of nano-selenium to strawberry pathogens (fusarium wilt, erythema, and purple spot fungi) was determined. The products from reduction of selenite by strain XP was amorphous spherical selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) with a diameter range of 135-165 nm. The production of SeNPs was positively correlated with time (0-48 h) and no changes were observed on cell morphology. Selenium was dominant in the surface of SeNPs where the organic elements (C, O, N, and S) existed at the same time. SeNPs were coated with biomolecules containing functional groups (such as -OH, C=O, N-H, and C-H) which were associated with the stability and bioactivity of particles. Although the highest concentration of SeNPs had significant (P<0.05) inhibitory effects on three strains of strawberry pathogens, antifungal activity to erythema and fusarium wilt pathogenic fungi was higher than that to purple spot pathogenic fungi from strawberry. In conclusion, strain XP not only has strong tolerance to high salt stress, but can be also used to synthesize biological SeNPs with good stability and biological activity. Thus, the strain XP has bright perspectives and great potential advantage in pathogens control and green selenium-rich strawberry planting as well as other fields.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1980;21(3):275-277
Two cases of malignant melanoma which are located in the bulbar conjunctiva are presented. A case of 56 years old male revealed melanosis in his medial palpebral conjunctiva and wedge shaped resection was performed. The other case of 76 years old male had dark brownish strawberry like pedunclated mass in his lateral bulbar conjunctiva and limbal area with history of progressive enlargement. This tumor mass was excised radically. Above two cases were confirmed as malignant melanoma histopathologically.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1989;27(2):177-186
Sixteen cases of congenital hemangiomata were treated with intralesional corticosteroid injectinn and followed up for 3 to 48 months. They consisted of 9 cases of strawberry hemangiomata with soft consistency, 4 cases of strawbery hemangiomata with firm consistency and 3 cases of cavernous hemangiomata. The results were as follows : 1) All the soft strawberry hemangiomata showed excellent response with marked shrinkage by single treatment. 2) The firm strawberry hemangiomata showed poor response with visible shrinkage after five times treatment, in average. 3) Among three cases of cavernous hemangiomata, one case with large palpable blood vessels in the lesion showed poor response, and two cases without palpable blood vessels in the lesion showed good response. 4) Temporary atrophy and pallor of the skin color were noticed in about half of the cases. Considering the concern of the patients parents, course of the hemangiomata., and the simplicity and effects of the treatment, this therapeutic method is regarded useful in the management of congenital hemangiomata, especially in soft st r awberry hemangiomata.

7.Examination of Ascaris Eggs on Strawberries and Soils of the Strawberry Yards.
Korean Journal of Preventive Medicine 1971;4(1):35-39
The authors examined the Ascaris Eggs on the surface of the strawberries and in the soil of the strawberry yards. The results were as follows : 1. The number of Ascaris eggs detected from 870 strawberries grown on strawberry yards was 26, of which 17 eggs were found to be alive. 2. The mean number of Ascaris eggs detected in every 10gm of the soil of strawberry yards was 10.3. The Ascaris eggs were detected over 93% from th yards examined, which had been fertilized with both chemical fertilizer and night soil, or night soil only. 3. No Ascaris eggs was found from strawberries which were produced only with chemical fertilizer. 4. Ascaris eggs were detected 6 from 705 marketing strawberries studied, 3 of them developed to larval stage. 5. When the strawberries were washed by shaking 20 time after kept immersed in water for 10 minutes, the recovery rates of Ascaris eggs after first, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th washing were 60, 87, 96, 99 ad 100%, respectively. 6. Besides Ascaris eggs of hook worm and Fasciolidae were also found from the strawberries examined.

Mycobiology 2018;46(1):47-51
In the present study, the characterization and properties of silver nanoparticles from Yucca shilerifera leaf extract (AgNPs) were investigated using UV–visible spectroscopic techniques, zeta potential, and dynamic light scattering. The UV–visible spectroscopic analysis showed the absorbance peaked at 460 nm, which indicated the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. The experimental results showed silver nanoparticles had Z-average diameter of 729 nm with lower stability (195.1 mV). Additionally, our dates revealed that AgNPs showed broad spectrum antagonism (p ≤ .05) against Fusarium solani (83.05%) and Macrophomina phaseolina (67.05%) when compared to the control after nine days of incubation. Finally, AgNPs from leaf extracts of Y. shilerifera may be used as an agent of biocontrol of microorganism of importance. However, further studies will be needed to fully understand the agronanotechnological potentialities of AgNPs from Yucca schidigera.

10.Nucleotide Divergence Analysis of IGS Region in Fusarium oxysporum and its formae speciales Based on the Sequence.
Mycobiology 2004;32(3):119-122
The intergenic spacer(IGS) sequence of Fusarium oxysporum have been reported to provide reliable information concerning intraspecific variation and phylogeny of fungal species. The eleven strains of Fusarium oxysporum and its formae speciales belonging to section Elegans were compared with sequencing analysis. The direct sequencing of partial IGS was carried out using PCR with primer NIGS1(5'-CTTCGCCTCGATTTCCCCAA-3')/NIGS2(5'-TCGTCGCCGACAGTTTTCTG-3') and internal primer NIGS3(5'-TCGAGGATCGATTCGAGG-3')/NIGS4(5'-CCTCGAATCGATCCTCGA-3'). A single PCR product was found for each strain. The PCR fragments were sequenced and revealed a few within species polymorphisms at the sequence level. The size of partial IGS sequencing of F. oxysporum was divided into three groups; 526~527 bp including F. o. f. sp. chrysanthemi, cucumerinum, cyclaminis, lycopersici, and fragariae; 514~516 bp including F. o. f. sp. lilii, conglutinans, and raphani; 435 bp for F. o. f. sp. cucumerinum from Korea. Sequence analysis of PCR products showed that transitions were more frequent than transversions as well as the average numbers of substitution per site were range 0.41% to 3.54%.
