3.Treatment of anal fistula in the transport hospital I
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):47-50
Study on the clinical feature and diagnosis was carried out in 51 patients with the anal fistula who received the surgical treatment in the transport hospital I during 7/19997 - 8/1998. The results have shown that the anal fistula occurred mainly in men with ages of 40. The common causative microbes were E.coli, S. aureus and M. tuberculosis. 17.65 of patients had an anal fistula combined with hemorrhoid. The successful rate of the treatment was 95.4%. The relapsed rate was 2.2% and the anorectal incontinence rate was 19.3%.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2007;45(11):1170-1172
Anal disorders are common and more than one half of the population will experience one at some time during their lives. Anal erosion and fissures can cause discomfort, severe pain, bleeding and inflammation. In the acute phase of anal erosion, with bowel habit management and topical emollient, lesions can be improved. Chamomile and Myrrh are known for centuries to have several effects and have anti-inflammatory, sedative, antibacterial and antifugal properities. Here, We report a case of anal erosion treated with Chamomile and Myrrh extracts (Ad-Muc(R)). Our case indicates that Chamomile and Myrrh extracts might play a role in the management of anal erosion and fissure.

9.Evaluation on the therapeutic results of anal fissure by point-injection procedure combined with pressing on musculus teres internus
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2003;0(10):36-40
175 patients with anal fissure have received 1% lidocaine point – injection therapy combined with pressing on musculus teres internus. Results: 19.4% (n=34) of patients with high level and 80.6% (n=141) with low level of anal spasm, experienced no longer spasm after one day and 10 days of treatment, respectively. 16.6% (n=29) of patients who had a pain in the anus at high level and 68.6% (n=120) at medium level, feeled no more pain after one day and 10 days of treatment, respectively. Anal ulcer occurred in all participants. The number of patients who no longer suffered from ulcer after 10, 15 and 20 days of treatment was 61 (n=34.9%), 136 (77.7%) and 164 (93.7%) respectively. The treatment provided remarkable results, while the practice was rather simple, no high technique equipment was required

Journal of the Korean Society of Coloproctology 2011;27(5):237-240
PURPOSE: Many kinds of substances are produced on vascular endothelial activation. The aim of this study is to confirm an increase in Endothelin-1 (ET-1), the most potent vasoconstrictor, which is produced by endothelial activation, in patients with chronic anal fissure and to infer the relationship between ET-1 and anal fissure chronicity. METHODS: The study groups are divided into three different groups with 30 subjects each. Group 1 is comprised of healthy volunteers, group 2 of chronic anal fissure patients, and Group 3 of patients with higher than 3rd degree hemorrhoids. Blood samples were taken to measure the ET-1 levels in subject's serum and to compare the results with those for the control groups. RESULTS: Among the 90 subjects, 38 were male, and 52 were female. The average age was 36.8. The average ET-1 level marked 1.47 +/- 0.78 pg/mL for male subjects and 1.16 +/- 0.47 pg/mL for female subjects (P = 0.02). The average ET-1 level in the patient groups is as follow: 1.21 +/- 0.44 pg/mL in group 1, 1.46 +/- 0.83 pg/mL in group 2, and 1.20 +/- 0.56 pg/mL in group 3 (P = 0.14). CONCLUSION: Group 2, the chronic anal fissure patient group, showed a higher ET-1 level than groups 1 and 3, the control group and the hemorrhoid patient group, but this difference had no statistical significance.
