From Dec. 2003 to Feb 2004, 90 women of 6-12 week pregnancy received 100 μg intra vaginal misoprostol 3 hours before intervention at central Hospital of Ggn. and Obst. 96,67% had got success, with the mean cervical dilatation of 8,1± 0,92mm. Side effect manifested in 2,2% of patients

90 cases of pregnancy termination by vaccum at the 6th –12th week of gestation, using misoprostol vaginal insertion with cervix prepared 3 hours before this operation were performed at the Central Hospital of Gynecology and Obstetrics from December 2003 to February 2004. The subjects had received intravaginal 400mg Misoprostol 3h befor the vacuum aspiration of the fetus. Results showed the success rate of 96.67%, the mean dilatation of cervix reached 8.1  0.92mm.

With clinical first-aid needs, it is necessary to develop and produce combined first-aid equipment box to meet needs of the battlefield and emergency treatment. The choice of medical devices should also be followed to change, so as to well realize the scene first aid and portable purpose, whose internal configuration of medical devices can also be set according to actual requirements and have met a case of multiple uses, to suit different applications require medical treatment.

Unidentified mermithid nematodes were found in the abdominal cavity of three species of Anopheles mosquitoes from LAO PDR. This is a first record of mermithid nematodes in adult mosquitoes from Lao PDR. Two worms were found in each adult host and the infection was more prevalent in the northern region compared to the south.

Signal fly, Scholastes sp. (Diptera: Platystomatidae) was observed associated with animal carcasses in Malaysia. The first observation was on a monkey carcass, which was killed by using a handgun and immediately placed in a forested area in Gombak, Selangor while the second observation was on a pig that died of natural causes and whose carcass was placed in an oil palm plantation in Tanjung Sepat, Selangor. Both animal carcasses were visited by Scholastes sp. flies during the fresh decomposition period. However, the role Scholastes flies in the decomposition process remains unknown. In this paper, we report the occurrence of Scholastes sp. on animal carcasses in Malaysia for the first time.

Major natural disasters seriously threaten human life and health. After earthquakes and other catastrophes, survivors are often trapped in the confined spaces caused by the collapse of ground and buildings, with relative separation from the outside world, restricted access, complex environment, and oncoming or ongoing unsafety, leading to the rescue extremely difficult. In order to save lives and improve the outcome more efficiently in the confined spaces after natural disasters, it is very important to standardize and reasonably apply the trauma assessment and first aid workflow. This study focuses on trauma assessment and first aid. From the aspects of trauma assessment, vital signs stabilization, hemostasis and bandaging, post-trauma anti-infection, and the transportation of patients, a trauma first aid work process suitable for a small space of a major natural disaster is formed, It is helpful to realize the immediate and efficient treatment of trauma in the confined spaces after natural catastrophes, to reduce the rate of death and disability and improve the outcome of patients.

The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is one of the notorious complications of assisted reproduction procedure. Severe and moderate OHSS associated with a spontaneous pregnancy is rare. We experienced a case of two normal, spontaneously conceived pregnancies with OHSS and her past obstetric history included prior spontaneous OHSS in the first trimester and term vaginal delivery of normal baby.

This study was carried out to provide the basic data for the choice of evaluation method in the evaluation of academic record in medical college. For this, one university academic records were analyzed in which the method of evaluation was changed from the norm-referenced evaluation to the criterion-referenced evaluation since the first trimester in 1989 and the results of two methods were compared with. The results were as follows ; in the major of medicine, there is no difference in the academic record of the most subjects according to the evaluation methods, but in a few subjects, the record was underestimated in the criterion-referenced evaluation. In the major of nursing, all subjects of both major and essential subjects were overestimated strikingly in the criterion-referenced evaluation. In the other majors, the subjects for general education were also overestimated markedly in the criterion-referenced evaluation and the proportion to the grade of record were very different by the professors.
