Objective To explore clinical curative effect of microsurgery of petroclival tumors by transpetrosal presigmoid approach. Methods A series of 23 patients of petroclival tumors resected by microneurosurgery were analyzed retrospectively, including tumors histological types, clinical and preoperative MRI features, operative approaches, surgical technique and common postoperative complications. Results Total resection of the tumor was achieved microsurgically in 16 cases, subtotal resection in 4 cases, partial resection in 3 cases. No patient died in this series. 8 patients presented worsening crainal nerves palsies postoperatively. CSF leaks were uncommon, occuring in 2 patients. Conclusion The tumors in petroclival region can be totally resected by transpetrosal presigmoid approach. The advantages were offered by this approach such as the temporal lobes and cerebellum are minimally retracted; the operative distance of petroclival tumors is shortened with exposure of clivus and juxta-clival region.

Objective To investigate the correlation between expression of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid and prognosis of operation in patients with gastric cancer.Methods The expression levels of CEA mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid of 68 patients with gastric cancer and 30 patients with gastric benign tumor were measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.The correlation between the expression level of CEA mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid and clinicopathological features,prognosis of postoperative were analyzed.Results The expression level of CEA mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid of patients with gastric cancre was 1.74 ± 0.25 and with gastric benign tumor was 0.19 ± 0.04,and there was statistical difference (P ＜ 0.05).The expression level of CEA mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid had a correlation with the tumor infiltration depth,tumor differentiation,lymph node metastasis,distant metastasis and TNM stage (P ＜ 0.05).There was statistical difference in the recurrent / metastasis rate and survival rate 1 year after operation between low (34 cases) and higher (34 cases) expression level of CEA mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid of gastric cancer patients:47.06％ (16/34) vs.82.35％ (28/34) and 79.41％ (27/34) vs.55.88％ (19/34),P ＜ 0.05.Conclusion The expression of CEA mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid has close correlation with the clinicopathologic features,and the high expression of CEA mRNA indicats poor prognosis,indicating that CEA mRNA in preoperative peritoneal lavage fluid could be used as a prognostic marker in patients with gastric cancer.

Objective] To clarify the taxonomic status of Anopheles lesteri and An.anthropophagus in China. [Methods] Using molecular identification (PCR assay and rDNA\|ITS2 sequencing) to examine the field anopheline mosquito specimens from Liaoning and Shandong. According to the ITS2 sequences, molecular phylogenetic tree was made. [Results] According to the molecular identification, An.lesteri and An.anthropophagus were distributed both in Liaoning Province and Shandong Province. The length and GC content of rDNA\|ITS2 sequence were 451 bp, 46 2% in An.lesteri (n=6), and 448 bp, 46 0% in An.anthropophagus (n=10), respectively. The ITS2 sequences from presentation sites were same in An.lesteri, while the intraspecies difference in An.anthropophagus was 0 88%. The specific difference between An.lesteri and An.anthropophagus was 25 7%. By analyzing molecular phylogenetic tree, the relationship between An.lesteri and An.sinensis, An.anthropophagus and An.liangshanensis was found to be closer. [Conclusion] According to the molecular identification, it was defined that An.lesteri and An.anthropophagus were sympatric independent species in China.

Objective To investigate the effects of sensory cueing (SC) on unilateral spatial neglect after stroke.Methods Five stroke survivors with unilateral spatial neglect underwent a tailored sensory cueing treatment (wearing a sensory cueing device 3 hours a day, 5 days a week for 2 weeks) in addition to their conventional rehabilitation.Two weeks before and one day before the treatment, and then one day, two weeks and 4 weeks after the treatment, all five patients were assessed using the Hong Kong edition of the behavioral inattention test (BIT-C).Results No significant changes were identified in the average BIT-C ratings at the two time point before the intervention.However, the average score had increased significantly only one day after the start of the intervention, with further significant improvement at each of the succeeding 2 week intervals.The greatest improvement was in finishing cancellation tasks, and the most severely affected patient showed the greatest improvement.Conclusion Sensory cueing treatment may be useful and feasible in reducing unilateral spatial neglect for stroke survivors.However, randomized and controlled trials with larger samples are needed to further verify its effects.

The zymograms of EST in six species of anopheline mosquitoes (Female) were studied with polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.The zymograms of EST were divided into three groups,EST Ⅰ, EST Ⅱ and EST Ⅲ, respectively.The Rm of subgenus Anopheles (including An sinensis,An.anthropophagus and An.kunmigensis) was larger than that of subgenus Cellia (including An.dirus, An.mmmus and An.kochi) in main bands of EST Ⅲ. The results showed specific characteristics at the taxonomic level of subgenus. The six species of anopheline mosquitoes could be differentiated from each other by the particular band pattern and Rm in EST n groups.

AIM:To investigate the perfusion parameters using dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging ( DCE-MRI) in rectal cancer patients so as to explore its potential value in estimating the microvascular condition including perfusion and permeability .METHODS:The data of 38 rectal cancer patients examined with DCE-MRI was ret-rospectively analyzed .The perfusion parameters of carcinoma and normal rectal wall in each case were calculated , inclu-ding volume transfer constant (Ktrans), rate constant of back flux (Kep), extravascular extracellular space fractional volume (Ve) and initial area under curve (iAUC).The mean values of tumor and normal rectal wall , mucinous and nonmucinous carcinoma, poorly and moderately-to-well differentiated carcinoma , case with or without lymph node metastasis were com-pared.RESULTS:All the parameters of rectal cancer were higher than normal rectal wall (P<0.01).No significant difference was found between poorly and moderately-to-well differentiated carcinoma in terms of K trans, Kep and Ve, neither was the case with or without lymph node metastasis .The cases with lymph node metastasis had lower iAUC than those with-out (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Quantitative perfusion DCE-MRI answered the microvascular perfusion and permeability change of rectal cancer compared with normal rectal wall , besides it could be used to distinguish between mucinous and nonmucinous carcinoma , which demonstrated its value in the evaluation of rectal cancer .However , it should not be recom-mended to predict the degrees of tumor cell differentiation and lymph node metastasis just according to the perfusion param -eters.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders (ASD)among children in kindergartens in Xi′an urban districts.Methods:A stratified cluster sampling method was adopted, and selected all children from 12 kindergartens in 6 urban districts of Xi′an.Primary screening positive children with ASD were identified by filling out the Autism Behavior Checklist (ABC) by their parents and the guardians reports, and then the beha-vioral observations were made to identify suspicious ASD children.Finally these children were diagnosed in the hospital through the autism diagnostic observation schedule, 2 nd edition (ADOS-2). The data were calculated with SPSS 18.0. Results:Totally, 38 cases with ASD were diagnosed among 5 178 children, the prevalence of children ASD in kindergartens in Xi′an urban districts was 7.3‰, and the 95% confidence interval was 4.98‰-9.62‰.The prevalence of ASD in children was statistically significant in different age groups ( χ2=9.914, P<0.05) and gender groups ( χ2=18.812, P<0.05). The accuracy of ASD screening by guardians reports is better than that by ABC. Conclusions:(1)The prevalence of ASD children in kindergartens in Xi′an urban districts is at high level in similar reports in China.If ASD children at the special education institutions and home are considered, the overall prevalence rate is higher, indicating that the prevalence of ASD children in China may be underestimated.(2)With the increase of age, the attendance rate of ASD children in kindergartens has a decreasing trend.

Objective:To systematically evaluate the psychological experience of benefit finding in cancer patients.Methods:The qualitative studies on the benefit finding of cancer patients from EMBASE, PubMed, EBSCO (CINAHL + Medline) , SinoMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) , VIP and Wanfang Database were systematically retrieved from the databases establishment to September 30, 2020. The authenticity evaluation tool of qualitative research of evidence-based health care center of Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) in Australia was used for literature evaluation, and the results were summarized by the method of aggregation and integration.Results:A total of 9 literatures were included and 23 results were extracted to form 8 categories, which were summarized into 3 integration results, including personal growth of patients, positive social relations for patients and active planning for the future.Conclusions:It is found that there is benefit finding for cancer patients after suffering from cancer. Medical staff should pay attention to the psychological changes of patients, actively guide and give psychological support from different angles, so as to promote the mental health of cancer patients.

Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the risk factors for postoperative pathological escalation of endometrial cancer in patients with a pathologic diagnosis of endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) before surgery. Some of the clues from the preoperative assessment were used to build a nomogram to predict the likely pathological escalation after surgery, and to explore the feasibility of sentinel lymph node biopsy in these patients with possible pathological escalation. Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of patients who underwent surgical treatment for EIN diagnosed before surgery between 2018 and 2023 in The Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University. parameters including clinical, radiological and histopathological factors were analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression to determine the correlation with pathology upstaging. A nomogram based on the multivariate results was developed to predict the probability of pathology upstaging. A total of 729 patients were included, divided into training set and validation set. 484 patients were used to build the model. This nomogram was subsequently validated using 245 patients. Results: Upstaging to endometrial carcinoma occurred in 115 (23.8 percent) of 484 women treated between 2018 and 2023 in training set. A lager endometrial thickness (at least 15 mm), menopause, hypertension, HE4, and endometrial blood were significantly associated with upstaging. A nomogram developed using these factors demonstrated good predictive performance (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC)=0.6808; 95% confidence interval [CI]=0.6246–0.7369). The nomogram showed similar predictive performance in the validation data set, based on another 245 women (AUC=0.7821; 95% CI=0.7076–0.8567). Conclusion This study developed a novel nomogram based on the 5 most important factors, which can accurately predict invasive cancer. It is common for women with preoperative diagnosis of EIN to experience pathological progression to endometrial cancer. For some patients with postoperative pathological escalation, we found lymph node metastasis. This nomogram may be useful to help doctor decide whether to perform sentinel lymph node biopsy for surgical staging in these EIN patients. According to the nomogram, simultaneous sentinel lymph node biopsy in patients with high probability of postoperative pathological upgrading can provide better guidance for postoperative adjuvant treatment of endometrial cancer and avoid the occurrence of secondary surgery.
