Objective To improve the knowledge of X-ray findings of heart and lung in chronic renal failure ( CRF ) . Methods X-ray findings of heart and lung in 120 cases with CRF were analysed retrospectively. Results The X-ray appearances of lung and heart in CRF included augment and blur of hilum, increased, tortuous and disorder lung markings, accretion of heart, and the abnormal shadows in lung were irregular, inhomogeneus and changing fast in morphology. Conclusion Radiography can supply valuable messages and is ofconsiderable value in the diagnosis of CRF.

Two new sesquiterpenoids, named as tyromols A and B (1 and 2), were isolated from cultures of basidiomycete Tyromyces chioneus, along with two previously reported 15-hydroxy-6 α, 12-epoxy-7β, 10αH, 11βH-spiroax-4-ene (3) and agripilol C (4). Compounds 1-4 were separated and purified by silica gel, RP-18, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis including IR, MS, 1D and 2D NMR experiments.

Objective To summarize the experience in treating coronary artery fistula (CAF) by using Guglielmi detachable coils. Methods During the period from July 2009 to November 2014 at the Affiliated Changhai Hospital of Second Military Medical University, interventional treatment of CAF by using Guglielmi detachable coils was performed in 40 patients. The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. The feasibility, safety and effectiveness of this technique were evaluated. Results Successful transcatheter closure of CAF with Guglielmi detachable coils was achieved in all 40 patients; the average Guglielmi detachable coils used in each patient was(2.33±1.38) coils. No procedure-related complications occurred. Intra-operative angiography showed that residual shunt completely disappeared in 12 patients (30%) and blood flow was significantly decreased in 28 patients (70%). All the patients were followed up for 1-65 months, neither complications such as recurrent bleeding and ischemia nor stenosis and occlusion of related arteries, or fistula cavity rupture occurred. Conclusion The use of Guglielmi detachable coil in interventional treatment of CAF is safe and effective, although its long-term effect needs to be further verified.

International Eye Science 2017;17(10):1973-1975
AIM:To study the KIF21A gene mutation in a Han family with concomitant exotropia. ·METHODS: The genomic DNA of five family members was extracted from peripheral blood leukocytes and amplified with PCR. The PCR products were purified for DNA sequencing. DNA sequences were aligned with the human KIF21A gene sequences registered in GenBank. · RESULTS: Mutation analysis of all exons of the pedigree's KIF21A gene reveals no gene mutation in any of the families. ·CONCLUSION: Our study demonstrates that the KIF21A gene maybe is not virulence gene in this pedigree.

In this paper we reviewed the formulae and analyzed the factors which modified the relationship and estimate the time of death as precise as possible by potassium concentration in vitreous humor. The extra factors including numbers of the cases, cause of death, different eye of both, the urea or/and creatinine in vitreous humor, environmental temperature, sampling techniques, experimental and analytical method were also mentioned.

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2005;21(1):68-72
Identifying sarcosaphagous flies specimens is an important first step in a forensic-entomological analysis. It is traditionally performed using morphological features of the Sarcosaphagous Flies. However, Morphological identification may be complicated by the numerical diversity of species and physical similarity between different species, particularly in immature stages. The sequences focused on some sections of the cytochrome oxidase I and II (CO I and CO II) encoding region of mtDNA could be as the prospective basis of a diagnostic technique. By Analysis of these sequences, forensic doctors can reveal abundant phylogenetic informative nucleotide substitutions that could effectively identify Sarcosaphagous flies to species group. It was not reported in our country before and was reviewed in this article now.

Objective To explore the effect of flexible ureteroscope in treatment of retained kidney calculi after percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Methods Thirty-six patients with retained kidney calculi after percutaneous nephrolithotomy who were treated with flexible ureteroscope were selected, and clinical data of the patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results In the 36 patients,26 patients were through the percutaneous nephroscope channel, and 10 patients were through the ureter channel.Except for 1 patient who stopped the operation because of poor visibility caused by active bleeding in percutaneous nephroscope channel lithotripsy 7 d after percutaneous nephrolithotomy, other patients did not appear severe complication. All the patients were rechecked plain abdominal radiograph the second, seventh and fourteenth day after this operation, and the eradication rates of calculi were 13.9% (5/36),69.4% (25/36) and 94.4% (34/36).Two patients still had less than 0.4 cm retained calculi in lower renal calices and were followed up.Conclusions The retained kidney calculi after percutaneous nephrolithotomy can be effectually treated by flexible ureteroscope, and it can avoid secondary percutaneous nephrolithotomy or multichannel percutaneous nephrolithotomy, and inprove the eradication rate of complex kidney calculi by percutaneous nephrolithotomy. The method is economical, safe, simple and with little injury, and it is the effective supplement protocol of percutaneous nephrolithotomy.

International Eye Science 2017;17(9):1727-1730
AIM:To explore the association of the mutation in PPP2R3A exons and retinoblastoma.METHODS:Hospital-based case control study was taken.Retinoblastoma patients (15 cases, as case group) and matched controls (30 controls, as control group) were recruited in this study.Genomic DNA obtained from formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) and peripheral blood were used as template.PPP2R3A gene exon sequences were detected by PCR-sequencing.Homology analysis was performed using blastn in GenBank.RESULTS:Analyzing PPP2R3A DNA sequences (1001bp) from 15 cases, two reported SNPs had been detected, including rs34629706 and rs144802055.Rs34629706 also occurred in the control group.Rs144802055 appeared only in the case group.CONCLUSION:PPP2R3A gene SNPs of rs34629706 is unrelated to the incidence of retinoblastoma.Relations between rs144802055 and RB needs to be further explored.

Chinese Journal of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2012;47(5):414-416
OBJECTIVETo investigate the feasibility of applying harmonic scalpel in tonsillectomy by comparing it with the conventional tonsillectomy.
METHODSThirty-five patients were treated by harmonic scalpel assisted tonsillectomy (harmonic scalpel group) and 35 patients were treated by conventional tonsillectomy (control group). The operating time and blood loss during operation and the degree of pain and post-tonsillectomy hemorrhage as well as the time of defining were observed.
RESULTSThe data of the operating time and blood loss during operation and the degree of pain in harmonic scalpel group were lower than that in the conventional group, the harmonic scalpel group had less perioperative bleeding (median 1 ml), short operation time (median 20 min), postoperative pain during 5 days with visual analogue scale was lighter (median from 5 scores down to 1 score), there was statistical difference (P < 0.01). Neither primary hemorrhage nor secondary hemorrhage occurred in harmonic scalpel group, while one primary hemorrhage and one secondary hemorrhage occurred in conventional group. No difference was found in the beginning time of defining (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe application of harmonic scalpel in tonsillectomy was safe, efficient and feasible, which had a nice application prospect in the field of otolaryngology.
