1.The Effect of STI571 on the CD_(117) Expression and Differentiation of Mononuclear Cells in Patients with Acute Non-lymphocytic Leukemia
Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(05):-
Objective To explore the effect of STI571 on the CD_~117 expression and differentiation of bone marrow mononuclear cells in patients with acute non-lymphocytic leukemia(ANLL). Methods CD_~117 expression before and after STI571 treatment in vitro was assayed by FACS, and the cell differentiation was observed by Giemsa and peroxidase staining. Results After different concentrations of STI571 treatment in vitro, there was different degrees of differentiation in granulocytes and monocytes from patients with ANLL. With the increase of STI571 concentration, the number of progranulocyte and promyelocyte gradually decreased, the number of myelocyte, metamyelocyte and monocyte increased, and the positive degree of peroxidase staining increased. CD_~117 expression significantly decreased after STI571 treatment compared with before it. Conclusion STI571 could induce leukemia cells of ANLL into terminal differentiation by inhibiting c-kit tyrosine kinase.

Chinese Journal of Pathology 2004;33(2):113-116
OBJECTIVETo study the clinicopathologic characteristics of organizing pneumonia of the autopsies in elder and to analyze the possible underlying etiologic factors.
METHODSNinety-five cases of organizing pneumonia were found from 635 elderly autopsy reports of the Beijing Hospital since 1980. The morphologic and imaginal features were analyzed.
RESULTSThe foci of organizing pneumonia in our series were often small, patchy, scattered and adjacent to other lung lesion. There were, however, some variations in cases with different underlying conditions. The conditions associated with organizing pneumonia, as detected in our series, were: (1) 36 cases with suppurative inflammation, lung abscesses and chronic relapsing pneumonia; (2) 17 cases with fungal or viral infection; (3) 16 cases with aspiration pneumonia; (4) 5 cases with radiation pneumonia. We observed that it was not uncommon for organizing pneumonia coexisting with atelectasis and chronic pleuritis. The image of organizing pneumonia was varied.
CONCLUSIONSOrganizing pneumonia is a common finding in autopsies of the elder. It occurs in association with many diseases and the basic pathologic changes are similar. All of which represent secondary phenomenon. Possible etiologic factors include infection (due to bacteria, fungi or virus), aspiration and radiation. The possibility of organizing pneumonia should be considered if the shadow of lung is undisappeared in imagin.

A mixed bacteria culture F6 isolated from oil field wastewater can degrade petroleum hydrocarbons efficiently. The bacteria were suitable to treat oil-polluted wastewater of oil field. Simulated result treating oil-polluted wastewater in laboratory showed that after "XingyiLian" wastewater of Liaohe Oil Field was treated by fluidized-bed bioreactor system with the vehicle of activated carbon , the amount of oil and CODcr of the flow out water were decreased from 45mg/L to 4. 1mg/L and 470mg/L to 42mg/L separately , according with first class standards of Chinese Wastewater Discharge Regulation.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of malignancy-related mortality in women worldwide. The more accurate prediction of lymph node metastasis and evaluation of personalized prognosis of breast cancer patients could provide evidence and reference for individualized comprehensive treatment and clinical decision-making. Nomogram is statistical calculation model developed to generate individualized prediction of a certain clinical event through the factors associated with it. Currently breast cancer related nomogram models is most commonly used in the prediction of non-sentinel lymph node status in patients with sentinel lymph node-positive breast cancer, sentinel lymph node metastasis in clinical node-negative breast cancer and prognosis evaluation of breast cancer. This article reviewed the recent advances in breast cancer related nomograms according to the above mentioned three aspects, and evaluated respectively the predictive factors, accuracy, characteristics and clinical application potential.

The optimum medium for Lactobacillus M7 was systematically studied with SAS system. Firstly, the prime factors affecting lactic acid yield were selected by means of Plackett-Burman design; secondly, the pnme facias were optimized by response rurface analysis. Under the optimum level determined, the yield is increased by 15%.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Based on reservoir condition and fluid characteristics, the oil-degrading bacterial strain NX-2 was screened from Ma-2 fault block of Huabei oil field. Bacterial metabolism and the capability of improving oil property were evaluated on oxygen-deficient condition. At 87℃ which reservoir temperature is, artificial homogeneous core displacement experiment indicated the enhanced oil recovery of microbe was 7.1% higher than that of waterflooding. In experiment on individual well Ma-410, additional oil production of 669 tons was gained, and decreased water production of this trial well reached more than 3000 tons. These results demonstrated NX-2 could adapt to stratum conditions, enhance oil recovery and improve oil property as well.

Biomedical and Environmental Sciences 2006;19(1):15-20
OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of fenvalerate on calcium homeostasis in rat ovary.
METHODSFemale Sprague-Dawley rats were orally given fenvalerate at daily doses of 0.00, 1.91, 9.55, and 31.80 mg/kg for four weeks. The ovary ultrastucture was observed by electron microscopy. Serum free calcium concentration was measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The activities of phosphorylase a in rat ovary were evaluated by the chromatometry. The total content of calmodulin in ovary was estimated by ELISA at each stage of estrous cycle. Radioimmunoassay (RIA) was used to evaluate the level of serum progesterone.
RESULTSHistopathologically, damages of ovarian corpus luteum cells were observed. An increase in serum free calcium concentration was observed in rats treated with 31.80 mg/kg fenvalerate. The activities of phosphorylase a enhanced in all treated groups, and fenvalerate increased the total content of calmodulin significantly in estrus period. Serum progesterone levels declined in fenvalerate exposed rats in diestrus.
CONCLUSIONFenvalerate interferes with calcium homeostasis in rat ovary. Also, the inhibitory effects of fenvalerate on serum progesterone levels may be mediated partly through calcium signals.

Chinese Journal of Hematology 2004;25(9):528-531
OBJECTIVETo analyse the features of 8 cases of Bcr(+) thrombocytosis.
METHODSThe clinical and hematological features and therapeutic outcomes were studied retrospectively in 8 Bcr(+) thrombocytosis and compared with essential thrombocytosis (ET) and chronic myeloid leukemia-chronic phase thrombocytosis (CML-CP-T). BCR-ABL fusion gene was detected with PCR.
RESULTS(1) Except for the presence of BCR-ABL fusion gene, there was no significant difference in clinical and hematological features and therapeutic outcomes between thrombocytosis with or without BCR-ABL. (2) The Bcr(+) thrombocytosis differed from CML-CP-T in the following aspects: female predominance, milder or no splenomegaly, peripheral leukocytes count < 40 x 10(9)/L, less or no basophilia and fewer immature granulocytes in peripheral blood, bone marrow granulocytic and/or megakaryocytic lineage hyperplasia, normal or increased neutrophil alkaline phosphatase score and less blastic transformation.
CONCLUSIONBcr(+) thrombocytosis may be considered as a new member of chronic myeloproliferative diseases, a variant of essential thrombocythemia.
