Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(09):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of the enteral nutrient(Pediasure) on making improvements in nutritional status of children with anorexia. Methods Thirty children were treated with pediasure for 2 months, twice a day, and height(Ht),weight(Wt),AG,TSF,SSF,ASF,RBC,Hb were measured before and after treatment and their appetites, alimentary canal reactions were recorded. Results Compared with the effects after 2 months, the average Ht,Wt,AG,SF all increased, and there was significant difference between pretreatment and after treatment(P0.05). All of the 30 children had no adverse reactions during treatment.Twenty-two children (73.33%) had better appetites and increased the amount of eating after treatment. Conclusion The study suggests that pediasure may be safely used in the treatment of children′s anorexia and effectively improve patients′ nutrition without adverse reactions.

Objective To investigate the influence of Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection on gastric mucin MUC5AC and MUC6 expression in children. Methods Sixty-six cases with gastric biopsy specimens were obtained from 66 children undergone gastroscopy from Jan.2005 to Jun.2006 for episodic or continuous abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, retching and dyspepsia, and so on.Among these children,39 cases were male and 27 cases were female, owning a average age(8.8?3.0)years.These specimens were divided into 2 groups followed by the presence of Hp,which was detected by rapid urease tests and Hp-PCR.Gastric mucin MUC5AC and MUC6 mRNA were also measured by reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR),and Hematoxylin and Eosin staining were used for pathology observation.Comparisons between every groups were performed using t test and ?2 test, and statistical significance was defined as P

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(05):-
Objectives:This study was designed to establish the modified method of cardiomyocytes culture in human fetal hearts. Methods:The human fetal heart cells of ventricular muscle were isolated by 0.2% trypsin and 0.1% collagenase and cultured primarily and passaged in Iscove's modified Dulbecco's medium(IMDM) in vitro by means of differential attachment technique. The changes in morphology, ultrastructure, viability, immunocytochemistry antibody staining and immunofluorescence antibody staining of human fetal heart cells were studied in culture. Results:The ratio of viable cells was 99% identified by trypan blue staining. The ratio of attachment cells was 95% after 24 h in culture. The cultured human fetal heart cells were roundness shaped, rod shaped, shuttle shaped, ellipse shaped, star shaped and bifurcate shaped with spontaneous contractility. The myocardial actin and myoglobin are identified in the cultured cells by immunocytochemistry antibody staining and immunofluorescence antibody staining. The ultrastructure of cells was similar to that of the cardiac tissue in vivo by electron microscopy.Human fetal heart cells after 20 d of primary culturing and after 5 d of passaged culturing were growed well. Conclusions:The method for isolating and culturing human fetal heart cells is successful and reliable. This model provides an effective experimental mothod for studying the mechanism of myocardial injury.

Objective To explore the causes of subclinical hypothyrodism in children and the effects of the interventional therapy with thyroixine on the course of it.Methods Two hundreds children with subclinical hypothyroidism were measured for thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb),thyroid microsomal antibody(TMAb) in the blood serum, examined by colord Dopplor ultrasonic, examined by fine needle aspiraton cytology of the throid and measured the rate of 131I absorbed by thyroid in order to find out the causes of the disease. Two hundreds cases were randomly divided into two groups on the base of the cause of diseases, treatment group 100 cases and control group 100 cases. The treatment group were treated by throxine 25-75 ?g/d and the therapeutic dosage were chosen with the normal value of free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4)and high sensitive thyrotropin(sTSH) in the blood serum .After one year thyroxine therapy were stopped.Thyroid function was examined 6 months later after stopping the thyroxine. Results Among all of the causes of subclinical hypothyroidism in children,Hasgumoto′s thyroiditis accounts for 56%,simple goiter accounts for 26%,antithyroid drug accounts for 6%,the lack of thyroxine substitution therapy on the hypothyroidism accounts for 5% and undefined causes accounts for 7% .The thyroid function could keep normal for 1 year with an alternative therapy with thyroxine on subclinical hypothyroidism in children.Half a year later after stopping thyroxine, the thyroid function turned normal in most of the children. There were obvious differences in the ratio of cure and the ratio of effectiveness between treatment group and control group (t=20.2,3.2 Pa

OBJECTIVETo explore interaction proteins affect functions of connexin 30 (Cx30) by screening and identification interaction proteins of Cx30.
METHODSThe fusion expression vecto of CX30-C-terminal functional domain-pGEX-4T-2-GST was constructed, and then, fusion protein and GST were purified. They were incubated with the proteins of the foetus brain tissue disruption to pull down interaction proteins. The interaction proteins were separated by SDS-PAGE. Differential straps were cut to enzymolysis to prepare for mass chromatographic analysis, and then to index and screen interaction proteins in NCBInr database. The interaction proteins were identified by immunolocalization.
RESULTSThe four interaction proteins of Cx30 were screened in the foetus brain tissue, as follow, Keratin 16, Camk2b, Tubulin beta-3 and alpha-tubulin. Cx30 was proved to coexist with Keratin 16 and Tubulin beta-3.
CONCLUSIONSKeratin 16, Camk2b, Tubulin beta-3 and alpha-tubulin are the interaction proteins of Cx30. The interaction proteins affect the assembly, intracellular transport, and channel switch of Cx30.

Objective:To explore the urgent management strategy for quadriplegia following China Wenchuan earthquake under filed condition. Methods:The 57-year-old male patient was sent to the earthquake relief team of Changzheng Hospital,Second Military Medical University. He was hit by heavy object during the Sichuan earthquake 6 days ago.Physical examination revealed cervical spinal cord injury accompanied by incomplete paralysis. The patient underwent cervical 3-7 laminectomy under general anesthesia. Results: After surgery, the muscle strength of lower limbs recovered to grade four from grade one;the muscle strength of upper limbs recovered to grade five from grade three.Sensory loss was found below the nipple level and totally recovered after operation. Conclusion:Early surgery for quadriplegia following earthquake trauma can timely relieve compression to the spinal cord and therefore improve prognosis of patients.Under field condition where facilities are not readily available, decompression of spinal cord can be achieved by lamineetomy via posterior approach. The key to successful operation is correct diagnosis and skillful manipulation.
