Objective To study the effect of immunotherapy on expression of CD14+mHLA-DR and the serum levels of immunoglobulin (IgG, IgA and IgM) in patients with severe pneumonia, so as to discuss the feasibility of immunotherapy for severe pneumonia. Methods From January 2012 to April 2014, 120 cases of patients with severe pneumonia treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) and pneumonia department were collected. Patients were randomly divided into control group (60 cases) and treatment group (60 cases). The control group was administrated with conventional therapy , and the treatment group was given thymosin α1 for immune treatment for 7 days. The mHLA-DR expression and the level of IgG , IgA and IgM of the two groups before and after the treatment were compared. Results After thymosin α1 treatment, mHLA-DR expression rate was elevated , and the serum levels of IgG , IgA and IgM were elevated in the treatment group , and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). While there was no statistically significant difference betweenthe above indicators before and after treatment (P > 0.05). Conclusion After immune treatment with the use of thymosin α1 , immunologic suppression can be prevented , and cellar immune function of severe pneumonia patients can be improved.

Objective To observe the effect of leptin on glucose oxidation with increased mRNA expression of complete length long intracellular domain of leptin receptor ( OBRb) in primary cultured skeletal muscle cells. Methods Skeletal muscle cells were isolated from SD sucking rat and cultured in four groups (recombinant transfection, empty plasmid transfection, non-transfection and control). The recombinant with complete length OBRb cDNA or the empty plasmid were introduced into skeletal muscle cells by clonfectin when the cultured cells were 70% conlluency, leptin and regular insulin were applied into wells and incubated for 1 h, then D-[ U-I4C]-glucose was added into wells and incubated for 2 h. The radioactivity of collected 14CO2 was assayed by scintillation. Expression level of OBRb mRNA in transfected cells was assayed by RT-PCR. Results The ratios of OBRb intraceUular domain mRNA and p-actin mRNA in cells transfected with recombinant, transiected with empty plasimd, and non-transfected were 1.22?0.10,0.41?0.08 and 0.49?0.09, respectively. The expression of OBRb intraceUular domain mRNA in cells transfected with recombinants was significantly increased as compared to the other groups of cells (P

Chinese Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology 2018;32(4):307-307
OBJECTIVE Xingnaojing injection(XNJ)is an extracts of Angong Niuhuang Pill that is a well-known traditional Chinese medicine used for the treatment of septicemia and stroke. This study aims to investigate the effect of XNJ on intestinal mucosal barrier in septicemia and intracerebral hem-orrhage(ICH)mice models.METHODS The septicemia mice models were induced by intravenous in-jection with lipopolysaccharide(20 mg·kg-1).And the ICH mice models were made by intrastriatal injec-tion of bacterial collagenase. The septicemia animals were treated intravenously with XNJ at dose of 2.5,5,10,or 15 mL·kg-1.The ICH animals were treated intravenously with XNJ at dose of 10 mL·kg-1. Thereafter, the permeability of intestinal mucosa was assayed by FITC-D method. RESULTS Com-pared with the control group(44.72±4.30),the permeability of intestinal mucosa in the mice in septice-mia group (233.68±28.18) was significantly increased (P<0.01). Treatment with XNJ at dose of 5, 10, and 15 mL·kg-1reduced the permeability of intestinal mucosa (150.45 ± 17.52,139.21 ± 17.05,132.55 ± 18.88,respectively, P<0.01)except 2.5mL·kg-1(240.71±21.42,P>0.01);Compared with sham group (57.88±7.31),the permeability of intestinal mucosa in the mice of ICH(282.25±23.78)was significantly in-creased(P<0.01). Treatment with XNJ (10 mL·kg-1)in the mice of ICH group ameliorated the change of permeability in intestinal mucosa (148.83±15.86, P<0.01). CONCLUSION XNJ exhibits the protec-tive effect on the intestinal mucosal barrier in septicemia and ICH, which will prevent the endotoxin to penetrate the intestinal mucosa and then to enter the circulation in infections and stress.

Totally 96 elderly patients with spleen-kidney Yang deficiency type hypertension were selected in this study. Patients were randomly divided into study and control group. It was treated with the Jingui Shenqi pill combined nifedipine sustained-release tablets in the study group and only nifedipine sustained-release tablets for the control group. Meanwhile, the clinical features including reducing blood pressure, blood lipid and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes of the two groups were observed pre and post treatment. Finally, the results showed that it could significantly reduce the hypertensive, hyperlipidemia and TCM syndromes in the study group compared with the control group (P < 0.05), which indicated that the combination of the Jingui Shenqi pill with nifedipine sustained-release tablets was effective for the patients with hypertension with spleen-kidney Yang deficiency type, especially for decreasing TCM syndromes and the blood lipid.

The paper is aimed to study the difference in yield and quality at different harvest time and determine the optimum harvest of planting Gentiana in Ludian traditional harvest period. The authors analyzed the variation in fresh weight, dry weight, dry discount rate, length, diameter, volume and the content of gentiopicroside, loganin acid, alcohol-soluble extract and total ash and made a comprehensive appraisal of yield, appearance quality and intrinsic quality by gray relational distance ideal Comprehensive Evaluation method. The results showed that there is a big difference in yield and quality both 2-year-old and 3-year-old Gentiana harvested in traditional harvest period and the comprehensive evaluation more better when harvested more later. It can be seen, Gentiana harvested the later had a better yield and quality in Ludian traditional harvest period. The harvest of Gentiana can be appropriate delayed depending on the particular circumstances of production.

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(3):272-276
The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test contributes a lot to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer (PCa) and, along with imaging-guided prostate biopsy, has improved the diagnosis rate of lower-risk PCa and the accuracy of its clinical staging. However, many questions and controversies remain as to the choice of optimal biopsy strategies. Scholars differ in views about how to utilize PCa-related biomarkers to optimize the detection of initial and repeat biopsies. This review focuses on the present status of and advances in transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy for PCa.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(3):300-302
It is held by some of the researches that the "16 collaterals" is composed of the "15 collaterals" and "the major collateral of stomach". And it is included into the textbook that Xuli, the major collateral of stomach, is the pulsation point at the cardiac region. Xuli is often explained as the empty portion of the human body by many researches. Through analysis and summarization of the related theory of the major collateral of stomach, the above mentioned opinion is discussed. And the understanding on the major collateral of stomach is deepened. As a result, it is concluded that count the major collateral of stomach into the 16 collaterals together with the 15 collaterals is inadvisable. The real pulsation point at the cardiac region locates under the left breast. And the real meaning of Xuli is "extending in all directions".
