3.Analysis of the Bacterial Resistance and Use of Vancomycin in 202 Cases of Neonatal Sepsis in Our Hospital
China Pharmacy 2015;(21):2901-2903
OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for the rational use of vancomycin in neonatal sepsis. METHODS:A retrospec-tive survey was performed for newborns with neonatal sepsis in our hospital from Sept. 1st in 2011 to Sept. 1st in 2012,and the pathogenic examination results, bacterial resistance and use of vancomycin were analyzed and summarized. RESULTS:Totally 317 strains of pathogens were detected in 202 cases, including 147 strains of G+ bacteria(46.4%),88 strains of fungus(27.7%)and 82 strains of G- bacteria (25.9%). Coagulase-negative staphylococcus was the main pathogens. The use rate of vancomycin was 47.0%(95 cases),and the drug selections were all based on susceptibility, with most of two-drug combination(68 cases). No se-vere adverse reactions were found. CONCLUSIONS:Coagulase-negative staphylococcus is severe and has multi-drug resistance in the cases of neonatal sepsis in our hospital. While, the use of vancomycin is basically rational. However, the clinical use of vanco-mycin should be more cautious to prevent the generation of vancomycin-resistant strains.

To investigate the relationship between the diameter of abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA) and the concentration of elastin, forty five healthy male Wistar rats were selected,5 rats of them were used as normal control, the other 40 rats were randomly divided into 2 groups. A 1 cm segment of the abdominal aorta of the rat was isolated and perfused with pancreatic elastase in the experimental group, and the control group was given normal saline solution. Laparotomy was performed immediately after operation and on the 2, 7, 14 day, the aortas were measured and harvested. Histological studies were carried out to analyze the changes in elastin. The aortic diameter progressed to aneurysmal dimension in the experimental group. Histological study revealed loss of elastin in tunica media of the aorta in the experimental group. Neither macroscopic nor microscopic lesions were found in control group. It is suggested that there is a significant correlation between the aortic diameter and the decreased elastin content.

To construct a steady canine abdominal aortic aneurysm model to study endovascular graft exclusion, fifteen hybrid canines(averaged 13 5kg) accepted bovine jugular vein segments replacement at infra kidney abdominal aortic to construct aneurysms, while lumbar arteries were reserved. All the fifteen aneurysms had satisfactory figures as clinical patterns. The aneurysm parameters were proximal neck diameter(6 0?0 8)mm, distal neck diameter(5 7?0 6)mm, aneurysm sac diameter(22 7?13 3)mm, length(36 1?17 9)mm. It is concluded that the designation of this model is suitable for endovascular graft exclusion, and can be applicated in many procedures.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 1994;0(06):-
Objective To analyze the CT findings of lung cystic echinococcosis with infections, and to assess the value of CT examination. Methods The CT characters of 23 cases of pathologically proved lung cystic echinococcosis were analyzed and CT findings were compared with pathology. Results All 23 cases of lung cystic echinococcosis appeared as single cystic lesions. Fifteen cases appeared in the right lung, and the other 8 in the left. The lesions located in lower lobe were more than those in the upper lobe. According to the CT examination, it could be divided into two types: (1) simple lesion (7 cases) appeared as irregular solid mass with different size, crude edge, and lobulation, and with fiber shadows in the lung field around the lesions. In 6 cases, curvilinear or spotty calcification occurred in the lesions. (2) echinococcosis as a bag (16 cases) appeared as a mass with cystic changes in lung tissue with different size and off-center cystic cavity. The lesions took the form of ball or irregular shape. The edge was crude. Around the focus, prickle-like or patchy changes were detected. Ruptured lesions showed “water snake” or “flow ribbon” signs in 4 cases. In 7 cases, calcification occurred on the cystic wall or extended into the inside contents. Conclusion CT could accurately demonstrate the location, appearance, internal structure, and adjacent situation of the cystic echinococcosis, providing valuable information for correct diagnosis and treatment.
