International Eye Science 2016;16(6):1080-1083
?Pterygium is one of the most common ocular surface diseases. Its exact etiology and pathogenesis are not completely understood. At present, it is considered that its occurrence and development is the result of many factors. Current studies have indicated that the occurrence of pterygium is closely related to the environmental factors. Long time exposure to sunlight, dust, pollen and other long - term chronic stimulation are the main incentive factors. Various factors have caused limbal barrier dysfunction, induced the level of a variety of growth factors and inflammatory factors increased, so that the conjunctival tissue degenerate and proliferate to the cornea in the formation of pterygium. In this paper, the research progress of the pathogenesis of pterygium is reviewed.

Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(02):-
Human hepatocarcinoma cells, HepG2 were cultured onto biodegradable polyglycolic acid (PGA) polymer scaffolds, which were cultured in a rotating cell culture system (RCCS) to form a three-dimensional (3D) multicellular culture in vitro. The RCCS can simulate microgravity effects with low shear stress and well exchanging for gas. Then the growth characteristics and some mechanism of the cells in RCCS were detected by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), RT-PCR and flow cytometry (FCM). The results indicate that the cells grew well with polyhedron morphology and lots of microvilli, mitochondria and tight junctions in this system, which means that this system is useful for cells to form 3D structure to mimic cell status in vivo. The expression of some cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) were changed markedly, which are closely associated with cancer invasion and metastasis. The characters of increased expression of integrin ?1(CD29), CD44, intercellular adhesion molecule-1(CD54) and depressed expression of E-cadherin presumably show that the HepG2 cells cultured in RCCS could recur some characters of primary liver cancer in vivo, the capacity of invasion and metastasis. It is necessary for acquiring perfect and external results to select an appropriate research model for studying in vitro. This 3D culture in vitro under simulated microgravity can provide a useful and reasonable model for oncology, anticancer drugs research and other research.

Lipases have catalytic active in both aqueous phase and the non-aqueous phase and have a wide range of application in various industrial areas. However, the high cost of lipase production has restricted its extensive use in industry.Solid state fermentation possesses many advantages, such as low requirement for devices, low energy consumption, low production cost, little pollution to environment and easily being popularized, which have made it an important means in microbial production of lipases.Owing to the rapidly increased energy cost and the people's awareness of environmental protection, the solid state fermentation technique, which was regarded as low-tech in the past, has regained attention and developed rapidly since the 1990s.The production of lipase by SSF technique was reviewed.Mainly contents describe its characteristics, including physical and chemical factors and bioreactors.

Objectives:To investigate the effect of early enteral feeding on intestinal mucous energy systhesis in burned rats. Mothods:Wistar rats with 30% total body surface area Ⅲ degree burns were randomly divided into 3 groups:early feeding(EF) group, delayed feeding(DF) group, control group. The ATP,ADP,AMP of intestinal mucosa were detected by HPLC and energy charge were calculated according to formula. Results:The contents of ATP,ADP and energy charge in both experimental groups were all fluctuated at much lower level than those in control group, and the above indices exhibited significant decrease in DF group as compared with EF group at all time points except post burned 6 h.On the contrary, the contents of AMP increased more significantly in DF group than in EF group. Conclusions:Early feeding could increase the energy storage and alleviate the catabolism of energy rich phosphates of intestinal mucosa.
