Objective To determine the monokine levels of serum and synovial fluid (SF) in patients with JSpAs and estimate the correlation between monokines and inflammatory indices.Methods Serum and SF monokines (IL 1?,IL 1?,IL 6,IL 8,IL 12 and TNF ?) were measured by sandwich ELISA in patients with JSpAs ( n =28) and healthy controls ( n =10).The correlation between serum monokines and inflammatory indeces and between both serum and SF monokine levels was analysed.Results Elevated serum level of IL 6 was found in patients with JSpAs as compared to healthy controls ( P

Objective To develop an alignment technique based on the movement of body gravity center. Methods As join forces in the system of balance is zero, the position of body gravity center can be calculated by body gravity which is taken from weight sensors, by the special software. Meanwhile, the position of body gravity will be sent to control unit, which can be transformed to driving signal of motor. The sliding table with laser, linked to motor, can make pursuit movement following with body gravity. A precise alignment can be made as the movement of body gravity. The balance function test is also used to make an assistant estimate for the alignment. Results and Conclusion An alignment technique has been developed for the fit of prosthesis and orthotics.

Objective To investigate the surgical approach for adult patients with presacral cystic teratoma.Methods In this study,16 female patients,aged at 26-45 years,with presacral cystic teratoma underwent surgical resection between March 2007 and August 2012.Tumor was primary in 9 cases and recurrent in 7 cases,Rectal examination revealed retrorectal tough semi-circular poorly movable massess with intact rectal mucosa.MR examination showed cystic or solid mass in the anterior sacral,clear boundary,rectum and or vagina compressed.Tumors were completely removed in all cases.Results All patients were cured by surgery,13 cases were cured by one stage resection and 1 was cured by two stage resection.Two cases suffered from recurrence and was cured by reoperation.There were no injury to rectum,anal sphincter,cauda equina,presacral vein.Pathological diagnosis was cystic teratoma.Conclusions By sacrococcygeal surgical resection of presacral cystic teratoma was safe and effective ; complete resection of the tumor capsule is the key to successful operation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate effects of elastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children.

METHODSFrom July 2006 to December 2011, 25 children with radical neck fractures, which included 16 males and 9 females aged from 7 to 15 years old (means 10.7), were treated with elastic stable intramedullary nails. According to Judet classification, 6 cases were type II, 17 cases were type III and 2 cases were type IV (including 1 case with type IVa and 1 case with type IVb). The fracture healing, pain, deformity and range of motion of elbow were recorded.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months with an average of 14 months. Twenty-five patients were obtained bone healing. According to Tibone and Stoltz evaluation standard, 18 cases got excellet results, 4 cases in good and 3 cases in moderate.

CONCLUSIONElastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children has advantages of simple operation,less trauma and good results.

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus and its relative risk factors in adolescents were investigated in Hanjiang district, Yangzhou. A total of 2 153 adolescents aged from 16 to 18 years old from 7 high schools were enrolled. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus and impaired fasting glucose was 6.13% and 16.12%, respectively. The independent risk factors are obesity or overweight.

Objective To construct the prokaryotic expression vector of mouse CD25 extracellular domain and to express it in E coli.Methods Total RNA was isolated from splenocytes of Balb/c mice.The CD25 extracellular domain gene was amplified by RT-PCR and cloned into the PET-32a vector.A positive recombinant,PET-32a-CD25e,was identified by enzyme cleaving and sequencing before its expression in E.coli,and transferred into E.coli BL21(DE3) plysS for its expression.After purification with Ni+ resin and renaturation in vitro,a relative molecular mass(Mr) of the interesting protein was detected by SDS-PAGE and Wes-tern blotting.Effect of the purified interesting protein on the proliferation of splenocytes from T cell vaccine-immunized syngeneic mice was detected by MTT assay.Results The cloned CD25 extracellular domain gene was identified to be functional by sequencing and expression.The purified interesting protein could significantly induce the proliferation and IL-4 secretion of splenocytes from T cell vaccine-immunized mice in vitro.Conclusion Mouse CD25 extracellular domain gene can be successfully expressed in prokaryotic cells with biological activity,which lays a foundation for further relative studies.

Objective To investigate the role of 2B subunits-containing N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors (NR2B) in the arcuate nucleus in the development of inflammatory pain (IP) in rats.Methods One hundred and eight male Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 9 weeks, weighing 200-250 g, were randomly divided into 4 groups using a random number table: sham operation group (group S, n =47);group IP (n =47);dimethyl sulfoxide control group (group DMSO, n =7);selective NR2B antagonist Ro25-6981 group (group Ro25-6981, n=7).IP was induced by injecting complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) 0.1 ml into the plantar surface of the left hindpaw.Ro25-6981 400 pmol was injected into the arcuate nucleus at 3 days after CFA injection.Seven rats in each group were selected for measurement of the mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) and thermal paw withdrawal latency (TWL) at 1 day before CFA injection (T1) and at 2 days after CFA injection (T2), at 30 min before administration on 3rd day (T3) , at 30 min after administration on 3rd day (T4) , and on 5th day (T5).In S and IP groups, The rats were sacrificed at T1-3 and T5 , and the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus was removed for determination of NR2B mRNA expression (by real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction) and NR2B and phosphorylated NR2B (p-NR2B) expression (by Western blot).Conclusion Compared with group S, the MWT was significantly decreased, and the TWL was shortened at T2-5 in IP, DMSO and Ro25-6981 groups, and the expression of p-NR2B was up-regulated at each time point (P＜0.05) , and no significant change was found in NR2B protein and mRNA expression in group IP (P＞0.05).Compared with group IP, the MWT was significantly increased, and the TWL was prolonged at T4in group Ro25-6981 (P＜0.05) , and no significant change was found in MWT and TWL at each time point in group DMSO (P＞0.05).Conclusion The activation of NR2B in the arcuate nucleus is involved in the development of IP in rats.
