4.Diagnosis and treatment of extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type

Extranodal natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKL) is an uncommon subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is aggressive and has poor prognosis. ENKL occurs predominantly in the nasal cavity and less frequently in the skin and in the gastrointestinal tract. The pathology of this disease is characterized by vascular invasion and destruction. ENKL is strongly associated with the Epstein–Barr virus, which aids in the diagnosis of ENKL. The characteristic markers on the surface of an NK/T cell and the spe-cific genetic variations are also useful in the diagnosis. At present, the treatment of ENKL is still under discussion. Although radiothera-py combined with chemotherapy on patients with early-stage ENKL and L-ASP-based chemotherapy and hematopoietic stem cell trans-plant on patients with advance-stage ENKL have achieved favorable effects, further studies are still necessary to develop the principles and methods of a standardized treatment.
5.Recognition of environmental estrogen-like compounds based on fluorescent imaging analysis of ERα-EGFP nuclear granules formation

Objective To establish a quick method to probe the environmental estrogen-like compounds via fluorescent imaging analysis in high content analysis (HCA) technology.Methods HCA assays were performed to quantitatively in-vestigate the effect of collected environmental pollutants , including bisphenol A , nonylphenol , 1,2-phenylenediamine , 4-aminophenol, resorcinol, 3-aminophenol, 1,4-phenylenediamine and 2,5-diaminotoluene on nuclear granules formation ( Foci-formation) of estrogen receptor α( ERα)-EGFR( enhanced green fluorescent protein ) fusion-protein, which was se-lected as a research model in this study .The results were confirmed by the ERαtranscriptional activity by luciferase as-says.Results Compounds 1,2-phenylenediamine, 4-aminophenol, resorcinol, 3-aminophenol, 1,4-phenylenediamine and 2,5-diaminotoluene sulfate could not induce the ERα-EGFR nuclear granule formation.17-β-Estradiol, bisphenol A, or nonylphenol enhanced ERα-EGFR nuclear granule formation in a dose-dependent manner .The EC50 value was (4.17 ± 0.41) nmol/L, (1.48 ±1.79) μmol/L,or (3.70 ±0.78) μmol/L, respectively.The minimum detectable concentration was 1 nmol/L (17-β-estradiol)and 300 nmol/L (bisphenol A, nonylphenol).In luciferase tests, 17-β-estradiol, bisphe-nol A, or nonylphenol increased ERαtranscriptional activity in a dose-dependent manner ,and the EC50 value was (4.46 ±0.56) nmol/L, (2.31 ±0.21) μmol/L, or (6.60 ±0.94) μmol/L, respectively.The minimum detectable concentration was 3 nmol/L (17-β-estradiol), 300 nmol/L (bisphenol A),and 1 μmol/L (nonylphenol).Conclusion As an efficient method for ERαagonist identification , HCA assays based on the cell image phenotypes analysis can be used in quick recog -nition of environmental compounds with ER agonist-like activity.In all experimental compounds , only bisphenol A and non-ylphenol have a clear ER agonist-like activity .
6.Transition from anatomic to functional minimally invasive surgery

With the development of minimally invasive management,laparoscopic operation has become more and more prevalent.As a surgical procedure,a serial of events,such as psychological damage,fasting,bleeding,hypothermia,pain,introduce of cathartic,gastric tube,urinary catheter and aggressive resuscitation of crystal fluid,can produce stress and delay the rehabilitation. Evidence-based medicine has demonstrated that during the laparoscopic surgery,alleviating these events is associated with milder stress reaction and fast recovery.The focus of minimally invasive surgery should be shifted from the local injury to the stress of the whole body,from the wound size to the psychological,physiological and pathological changes of the whole body,from the technique of operation to the comprehensive management during perioperative period.In summary,the minimally invasive surgery focuses more and more on minimizing the stress influence on the whole body rather than merely on the minimal incision.It is reasonable to conclude that this kind of research will bring significant innovation in minimally invasive surgery in the future.
7.Effects of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training on unilateral spatial neglect

Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training on unilateral spatial neglect (USN).Methods One hundred stroke patients with USN were randomly divided into a treatment group (n=50) and a control group (n=50).Both groups were treated with routine rehabilitation training for 4 weeks,while the treatment group was additionally treated with acupuncture.Before and after the treatment,the degree of USN was evaluated in both groups along with the Fugl-Meyer assessment,the modified Barthel index and the incidence of shoulder pain.Results No significant differences were found between the 2 groups in any of the measurements before the treatment.After the treatment the incidence of shoulder pain in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group.All the other measurements were significantly higher in the treatment group than in the control group.Conclusion Acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training can significantly improve the symptoms of unilateral spatial neglect,improve motor function in a hemiplegic limb and improve performance in the activities of daily living.
