2.Comparation of gastrointestinal absorption studies of specnuezhenide with salidroside in rats.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(6):1107-1110
The experiment was designed to study the mechanism of increasing efficiency of Ligustrum lucidum steamed with wine. Rats in vivo with gastrointestinal perfusion model were used. The contents of salidroside and specnuezhenide in the fluid of gastrointestinal perfusion of rats were measured by HPLC at different time points after dosing. Then the K(a) and absorption percentage were calculated. Specnuezhenide could be detected in the fluid of gastrointestinal perfusion of specnuezhenide. The K(a) of the specnuezhenide and salidroside in the fetal intestines are 0.055 3 and 0.144 2 h(-1) respectively and the total absorptivity are 24.46% and 60.14% respectively after 4 hours. The K(a) in the stomach are 5.70 and 8.26 h(-1) respectively and the total absorptivity are 34.21% and 47.23% respectively after 4 hours. The experiment proved that specnuezhenide can be metabolized into salidroside which is more beneficial for gastrointestinal absorption. The experiment proved that specnuezhenide can be metabolized into salidroside both in the rat's stomach and the fetal intestine and compared with the specnuezhenide salidroside is more conducive to gastrointestinal absorption. The results suggested that the increasing efficiency on liver and kidney of L. lucidum steamed with wine has business with the fact that Specnuezhe nide is more conducive to the body after it is changed into salidroside.

3. Mechanism of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells differentiation into functional neurons induced by glial cell line derived neurotrophic factor
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2020;25(7):1019-1025
BACKGROUND: Glial cell line derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) plays an important role in inducing the differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in vitro and promoting the regeneration of neuron axons. OBJECTIVE: To observe BMSCs differentiation induced by over-expression of GDNF gene, detect synaptic function of cells and expression of Wnt signaling pathway components after differentiation, and preliminarily explore the mechanism of BMSCs differentiation into mature neurons. METHODS: Rat BMSCs were isolated and cultured, and further divided into recombinant adenovirus-containing GDNF gene transfection group (Ad-GDNF-BMSCs), adenovirus transfection control group (Ad-BMSCs), and untransfected control group. The relative expression of GDNF gene in BMSCs of each group was detected by Q-PCR, and the expression of β-catenin, cyclin D1, NeuN and MAP-2 was detected by immunofluorescence technology in each group. High K+ stimulation induced cell depolarization response after differentiation, and FM4-64 marks synaptic vesicle activity of differentiated cells. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The adenovirus-transfected gene had no significant negative effect on the proliferation of BMSCs. BMSCs could express endogenous GDNF gene continuously and at high levels. (2) Under the induction of GDNF gene, BMSCs could express neuron-specific protein NeuN after 3 days cultivation in vitro. The expression of β-catenin protein also could be detected in the cytoplasm of cells. After 7 days cultivation in vitro culture, BMSCs expressed the mature neuronal marker protein MAP-2, and the cell body contracted significantly. Neuron axon-like structures appeared around the cell body. Moreover, β-catenin and cyclin D1 were respectively detected in the cell cytoplasm and the nucleus, while the expression levels of NeuN, MAP-2, β-catenin, and cyclin D1 were not observed in Ad-BMSCs and untransfected control groups, and the cells remained spindle-shaped. (3) After 11 days of in vitro culture, the cells in the Ad-GDNF-BMSCs group showed typical neuronal processes or axons and connected to each other into a network structure, which could be labeled with FM4-64 to show red fluorescence, and induced by high K+ stimulation to induce action potentials in the cells. Synaptic vesicle activity in posterior axons showed FM4-64 red fluorescence gradually decaying. Under the same conditions, cells in the Ad-GDNF-BMSCs group and untransfected control group did not present FM4-64 fluorescently labeled synaptic vesicle activity. (4) Continuous GDNF induction can promote BMSCs differentiated into mature neurons with synaptic cycle function, and may be carried out through the classic Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
4. Clinical study on the treatment of menstrual migraine by acupuncture taichong and yongquan points
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 2019;40(5):834-838
Objective: To explore the clinical effect of the treatment of menstrual migraine (MM) by acupuncture taichong and yongquan points. Methods: We selected 90 patients with confirmed diagnosis of MM from January 2017 to January 2018 and randomly divided them into three groups: acupuncture treatment group, drug therapy, and acupuncture + medication group, with 30 cases in each group. In the acupuncture treatment group, the patients were treated by using acupuncture taichong and yongquan points. Those in the drug treatment group received oral medication of fluoroguirizine hydrochloride capsules. The combined therapy group received both body acupuncture treatment and oral fluoroguirizine hydrochloride capsule treatment. We compared the total headache score, the migraine specific quality of life questionnaire (MSQ), plasma calcitonin gene-associated peptide (CGRP) and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) before and after treatment. The clinical efficacy of the three groups was compared. Results: Before treatment, the headache score, MSQ, CGRP and 5-HT in the three groups did not differ (P>0.05). After treatment, the headache score, MSQ, CGRP and 5-HT of the three groups had decreased (P<0.05). Compared with the acupuncture treatment group and the drug therapy, the headache score, MSQ, CGRP and 5-HT of the three groups decreased in the acupuncture + drug therapy group (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the combination group was significantly higher than that of the other two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: The clinical effect of acupuncture taichong and yongquan points on the treatment of menstrual migraine is significant. It can significantly improve the patients' headache symptoms and lift their quality of life.

9.A new configuration of membrane stack for retrieval of nickel absorbed in resins.
Journal of Zhejiang University. Science. B 2005;6(6):543-545
A new configuration integrated ion exchange effect system with both electro-migration and electrochemical reaction in a single cell was developed to effectively retrieve metal ions from simulated wastewater using ion exchange resins without additive chemicals. By simply assembling cation exchange resins and anion exchange resins separated by homogeneous membranes, we found that the system will always be acidic in the concentrate compartment so that ion exchange resins could be in-situ regenerated without hydroxide precipitation. Such a realizable design will be really suitable for wastewater purification.
