1.Study on recognition of graded nursing among nursing assistants in elder homes and its influencing factors
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2013;(17):12-14
Objective To investigate the recognition of graded nursing and its influencing factors among nursing assistants in elder homes. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 116 nursing assistants. Results The nursing assistants showed insufficient recognition of graded nursing, there were significant differences in role cognition, operation and practice training, salary, and the nursing workload, there were no significant differences in working years and educational levels. Conclusions The recognition of graded nursing was insufficient. It is suggested to increase the role cognition education, enhance the theory and practice training, provide higher salaries and allocate workload reasonably to ensure the implementation of graded nursing and increase the satisfaction level of the elderly.

Gastrodia elatais graded as top medication in theShen Nong’s Herbal Classic. It was mainly distributed in southwest China. Its quality varied with geographical location. And the quality difference between wild and cultivated sample was extreme. Identifications using traditional methods were unable to accurately distinguish the quality ofG. elata. Therefore, near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy combined with pattern recognition method was used to distinguish the quality ofG. elata from different geographical locations as well as cultivated or wild. The results demonstrated that using NIR spectroscopy combined with multiclass classification algorithm, the geographical location ofG. elata can be accurately distinguished. The prediction accuracy can reach as high as 94.3% and 96.4% for both applications. Besides, the classification model was built without preprocessing; hence, it can be extended to be applied on-site.

OBJECTIVE:To train the students’ability about true-and-false identification of pini pollen, typhae pollen and Lygo-dium japonicum. METHODS:Teachers firstly used flexible and diversifided teaching methods to train the learning interest of stu-dents,and then picture antithesis, classroom presentation and other methods were used to teach the distinctive features between the true and false traditional Chinese medicine in the characters of identification. RESULTS&CONCLUSIONS:There were obvious dif-ference among the colors, physicochmical poperties, microscopic characteristics and other aspects of 3 traditional Chinese medi-cines. According to the teaching, the students could not only distinguish the 3 traditional Chinese medicines accurately, but also could identify the true-and-false of them. picture antithesis and classroom presentation method are simple and vivid, and can be used for the training of students’ability about true-and-false identification.

Objective To explore the effects of low frequency electric stimulation at bilateral mastoid processes on motor function and cerebral blood flow of children with cerebral palsy (CP). Methods Ninety children with CP were randomly divided into two groups: an electric stimulation group (group 1) and an conventional rehabilitation control group (group 2), thirty healthy children served as the normal control group. The children of group 1 were treated with FES in addition to the routine rehabilitation treatment. The children of group 2 were given of the routine rehabilitation treatment only. All the patients were treated successively with the above protocol for 3 months. The clinical effect and motor development were evaluated with the gross motor function measure (GMFM), and the blood flow velocities of anterior cerebral artery (ACA), middle cerebral artery (MCA), posterior cerebral artery (PCA) were measured by transcranial doppler (TCD) ultrasound before and after treatment. Results In group 1, significant or some improvement were achieved in 19 and 24 CP children, respectively, with an effective rate of 95.6% . In group 2, significant or some improvement were achieved in 10 and 27 CP children, respectively, with an effective rate of 82.2%. There was significant difference between the two groups with regard to the significant effective rate (P

A 36-year-old female presented with multiple dark brown papules on the chest and abdomen for more than 10 years, which had gradually increased in number.Physical examination revealed dozens of dark brown, flat papules measuring 1-3 mm in diameter in the chest and abdomen. Most of the lesions had a smooth surface, and some lesions gave a papilloma-like appearance, with no confluent trend.Biopsy of abdominal lesions showed mild hyperkeratosis of epidermis, acanthosis, extension of epidermal protrusions forming a reticulated appearance, horn pseudocysts in prickle cell layer, enhanced pigmentation of basal layer, and a sparse lymphocytic perivascular infiltrate in superficial dermis.A diagnosis of dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN) was made.

Objective To explore the curative effect of local oxygen therapy in combination with external application of Houfengsan and vitamin AD mixture in the treatment of red breech. Methods 100children with red breech were divided randomly into the treatment group and the control group with 50 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with direct local oxygen blowing for 10~15 minutes and applying mixture of Houfengsan and vitamin AD, the control group was treated with 3% zinc oxide unguent. The treatment effect and cure time were compared between the two groups. Results The total efficient rate of the treatment group was 100% ,which was higher than that of the control group. The cure time of the treatment group was (3.92±0.98) days ,and (6.66t1.46) days in the control group, and the difference was significant between the two groups. Conclusions Local oxygen blowing with external application of mixture of Houfengsan and vitamin AD is easy to accept by children, safe, economical and simple to operate. It is an effective method to treat red breech.
9.The effect of hydrodynamic pressure on renal cells.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2009;26(3):697-700
Mechanics plays an important role in regulating cell function. Hydrodynamics has become a hot topic of research in recent years. As an important factor, hydrodynamic pressure has significant influence on the form, cytoskeleton, proliferation, apoptosis and secretion function of cells. Many researches indicated that there are close relationships between kidney diseases and hydrodynamics which should be studied deeply.

Objective To investigate the status of clinical nutrition management in patients in PICU,and to provide data for promoting the improvement and development of clinical nutrition of pediatric critically ill patients. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on PICU specialists. The nutrition assessment, nutrition intervention and nutrition management of critically ill children in PICU were investigated. The results were summarized and analyzed. Results A total of 39 PICU specialists were involved in this survey. The nutritional assessment methods and guidelines in domestic PICU were not unified.Twenty-five respondents (64.1%) believed that both clinical performance and the scales as the basis can decide whether the patients should be fed or not;all respondents believed that nutritional assessment and intervention time need to be determined by the needs of the patients;23 respondents(58.9%) used weight only as their nutritional monitoring indicators.Twenty-eight respondents(71.8%) considered that gastric tube was the first choice way to feeding for the critically ill children;20 respondents(51.3%) believed that critically ill children should be fed within 24 hours.Twelve respondents (33.3%) believed that critically ill children should be fed between 24 to 48 hours.Thirty-three respondents(84.6%) advocated early enteral nutrition;36 respondents (92.3%) considered that the main reasons of fasting in critically ill children were vomiting or abdominal distension or gastrointestinal bleeding.Twenty-eight respondents(71.8%) believed that according to the results of gastrointestinal function evaluation, they made decisions whether the patient to fast or not.Twenty-three respondents(59.0%) considered that specialists in PICU were the decision maker of the clinical nutrition in critically ill children.Twenty-four (61.5%) of the respondents believed that we needed to establish our own routines in management of nutrition in PICU.Conclusion At present in China,a lot of achievements have been made in the nutritional assessment, monitoring, early enteral nutrition intervention and management in critically ill children, but it is not enough. We need to make more effort to enhance the critically nutrition level in PICU,and we have a lot of research to do about nutrition assessment and nutrition intervention mode.It is recommended to establish Chinese guidelines or consensus to enhance the level of nutritional treatment of critically ill children.
