The continuing education system at the Peking University Health Science Center for vis-iting scholars (Research program for young and middle-aged doctors) is a relatively advanced and compre-hensive medical continuing education system in China, among which, the tutorial system is a good method to guide the visiting scholars of continuing education. On this basis we conducted scholars learning effect questionnaire survey and combined with the feedback results, discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the current educational system of visiting scholars in China, and put forward some concrete suggestions on the development of the continuing education in China.

Objective To explore the positive effects of dancing train to self-esteem and social function in chronic schizophrenia patients. Methods By random sampling,40 male and 40 female chronic schizophrenic inpatients with dancing train were enrolled as the research group in our study training.According to gender, age, education, diagnosis, hospital stays and other factors,80 inpatients without dancing train were enrolled as the control group by paired choice. Both groups were evaluated with Self-esteem Scales (SES) and Scales of Social Practice of Inpatients (SSPI) at pre-and post-training.Results Comparison between the research group and control group showed that it had no significant difference between every value of scales in male and female before training; after training the research group's every indicants was better than that of the control group, and there were significant differences.Compared between pre-and post-training,the research group had significant differences but the control group did not. Before training,no significant differences between male and female of the research group.Compared with male inpatients, females achieved significantly better scores in SES,SSPI and 2 items of daily living and positive social communication after dancing train for 8 weeks. There were significant differences between male and female inpatients in SES,SSPI and 3 items of SSPI at pre-and post-train.Conclusions Dancing train can be effective to the residue symptoms in schizophrenic patients and improve social function and self-esteem of male and female inpatients.

Nanofibers have been considered as a potential kind of sorbent for solid phase extraction, accordingly nanofiber-based solid phase extraction ( Nanofibers based solid phase extraction, NFs-SPE ) becomes a popular research point of sample pretreatment technique. This article reviewed in and abroad research status of practical application in food, environmental and biological sample preparation based on nanofibers mat, and proposed that there was a dual “structure”-“activity” relationship between target adsorption efficiency and the two structures ( nanometer morphological structure and molecular structure ) of nanofibers, which would be the key breakthrough to explore adsorption mechanism.

Purpose To investigate the expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in colorectal cancer ( CRC) and their significance. Methods Immunohistochemistry, Western blot and real-time PCR were employed to detect the expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in CRC. Results The positive expression rate of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in 242 cases of CRC was 90. 50%, 87. 19% and 46. 28%, respectively, which were higher than that in adjacent tissues ( P<0. 05 ) . Moreover, the expression of LC3 in moderately and poorly differentiated CRC was higher than that in well differentiated CRC, and the positive rate of LC3 in CRC with lymph node metastasis was higher than that in CRC without lymph node metastasis. The overexpression of mTOR was related to lymph node metasta-sis (P<0. 05), but both differentiation degree and lymph node metastasis were not associated with Beclin1 (P>0. 05). The expres-sion of LC3 was positively correlated with Beclin1 and negatively correlated with mTOR in colorectal cancer (rs =0. 593, P<0. 01, rs= -0. 165, P<0. 01), and the expression of Beclin1 was not associated with mTOR (P>0. 05). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis re-vealed that the five-year survival rate of patients without nodal metastasis, positive expression of Beclin1, LC3 and negative expression of mTOR was higher than those with nodal metastasis, negative expression of Beclin1 and LC3, and positive expression of mTOR. Cox survival analysis results revealed that LC3, mTOR and lymphnode metastasis were independent prognostic factors. The results of IHC, real-time PCR and Western blot in fresh CRC tissues indicated that the expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues (P<0. 05). Conclusions The aberrant expression of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR may be associated with the development and progression of colorectal cancer. The simultaneous detection of Beclin1, LC3 and mTOR genes in colorectal cancer may be helpful for the evaluation of the progressive degree and the judgment of prognosis.

Objective To explore the value of virtual touch tissue quantification(VTQ) on the early diagnosis of gouty nephropathy. Methods 180 healthy controls and 109 gout patients including 57 cases with normal renal function, and 52 cases with gouty nephropathy were measured by VTQ in this study. The shear wave velocity (SWV) of renal cortex, renal medulla and renal sinus were measured using virtual touch tissue quantification(VTQ).The recorded SWV value was compared. Results In all groups, the SWV of renal cortex was the highest with significant difference (P <0.01).The SWV of renal cortex in gouty nephropathy group was higher than those in control group (t =0.342,P =0.026).The SWV of renal medulla and sinus in gout with normal renal function group and gouty nephropathy group were higher than those in control group, respectively (gout with normal renal function group:t =-0.311,-0.628; P =0.012,0.000;gouty nephropathy group:t =-0.369,-0.701 ; P =0.000,0.000).The SWV of renal cortex, medulla and sinus had no significant difference between gout patients with normal renal function and gouty nephropathy patients(t =0.117,-0.059,-0.073; P =0.232,0.575,0.523).Conclusions The VTQ technology could quantitatively evaluate tissue elasticity of the gout patients and provide evidence for the early diagnosis of gouty nephropathy.

Objective To investigate the prevalence and epidemiological characteristics of hypothyroidism, possible related lifestyle and metabolic risk factors of hypothyroidism in adults of Gansu province, and to provide scientific evidence for the prevention of hypothyroidism. Methods Stratified multi-stage cluster sampling with probability proportionate to size method was used to collect data from 10071 residents aged 18 to 79 years and who had lived in the local area for more than 5 years. All participants were asked to fill in the questionnaire, and to take physical examination including anthropometric measurements and venous blood samples. Risk factors of hypothyroidism were analyzed by Chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Result The prevalence of hypothyroidism was 10.1% (overt hypothyroidism: 1.5%, subclinical hypothyroidism: 8.7%). Female (12.1%) had a higher percentage when compared to male (7.5%). In addition to the increased odds with older age and female gender, current or previous smoking history (OR: 0.467, 95%CI: 0.289-0.754, P=0.002), salty taste preference (OR:0.355, 95%CI:0.162-0.776, P=0.022) and a frequent seafood intake (OR:0.148, 95%CI:0.057-0.385, P<0.001) were tended to be associated with reduced risk of hypothyroidism. Logistic regression analysis showed that positive thyroid peroxidase antibodies (OR:1.976, 95%CI:1.037-3.768, P=0.039), positive thyroglobulin antibodies (OR:2.419, 95%CI:1.160-5.043, P=0.018) and triglycerides (OR:1.241, 95%CI:1.044-1.474, P=0.014) were associated with increased risk of hypothyroidism. Conclusion The prevalence of hypothyroidism in Gansu province was high, affecting approximately one in ten adults, and majority of which were SCH. Both lifestyle factors and metabolic factor were associated with hypothyroidism. Developing a healthy lifestyle at work and home, and paying attention to the control of blood lipids are conducive to the prevention of hypothyroidism.
